    ErosNow launches on Jadoo TV OTT platform worldwide

    MUMBAI: Jadoo TV’s parent company CloudStream Media, Inc has inked a partnership with Eros International to bring the ErosNow streaming service to the Jadoo TV over-the-top (OTT) streaming platform worldwide.

     

    With this deal, Jadoo TV’s consumers will get instant access to Bollywood movies, television shows and music videos. Jadoo TV will make the ErosNow premium service available starting September 2015 for free to Jadoo4 users for the first year, amounting to a $100 value.

     

    With this latest announcement, Jadoo TV continues to provide its customers with an industry leading line up of on-demand and live South Asian film and television content on its.

     

    ErosNow premium service users on Jadoo TV will see films releasing immediately after their theatrical release and prior to their television release. ErosNow will also include in-house flagship original programming delivering shows with film-like production values. Content across several genres that include reality shows, adaptations of international series, and original productions spanning drama, comedy and thrillers will also be made available. Full seasons of these shows and series will be available for viewing exclusively on ErosNow.

    MUMBAI: In a unique marketing initiative, Eros International’s OTT platform Eros Now unveiled the first look of India’s first animated digital series, Blazing Bajirao for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus, Bajirao Mastani.

     

    Blazing Bajirao is dedicated to the adventures and victories of Bajirao Ballal Bhat, Peshwa to the fourth Maratha emperor, Chhatrapati Shahu Raje Bhonsle.

     

    Speaking on the origin and creation of Blazing Bajirao, ErosNow chief creative officer Vaibhav Vishal said, “The approach behind the series has been two-pronged. First, educate the audiences about Bajirao, the legend of Bajirao Mastani and the socio-political-cultural history of the era. Second and more importantly, make Bajirao the hero that he must be for our young audiences. We want them to know how cool he was, discover and associate with the charisma of Bajirao.     A first for the Indian film industry, Blazing Bajirao is a full-fledged digital graphic series, created for the audiences to familiarize themselves with the lives and histories of the lead characters – Bajirao and Mastani – ahead of the release of film Bajirao Mastani.

     

    Produced by Eros International and Bhansali Productions, written and directed by Bhansali, Bajirao Mastani tells the story of one of the least known parts of Indian history – that of the Maratha and Peshwa princes and the love story of Bajirao and his second wife Mastani.

     

    The movie is slated to release worldwide on 18 December, 2015.

    A first-of-its kind video marketplace, Wynk Movies offers a specially curated library of thousands of movies and other videos from a host of partners including ErosNow.

     

    With this partnership, users of Wynk Movies can access ErosNow’s Bollywood content offering new and classic Bollywood movies including exclusive online premieres like Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Shamitabh, Badlapur, Happy Ending and NH 10 even before their television premiere.

     

    While the app content can be accessed across 2G, 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi services, users can enjoy the app best on 4G given its seamless internet capability.

    ‘Bajirao Mastani’ teaser gets 2 million views on ErosNow

    MUMBAI: The teaser trailer of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s new film Bajirao Mastani, has garnered close to two million views on Eros international’s VOD platform – ErosNow. 

     

    Starring Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, the movie is inspired by historical figures like Balaji Bajirao and his two wives, Bajirao Mastani and Kashibai.

     

    The three-minute teaser released online on ErosNow has registered an unprecedented 65,000 views per second. The larger-than-life magnum opus that transports viewers to a land of royalty and exquisite landscapes, received a huge thumps up from the industry as several took to a popular micro-blogging site to voice their praise.

     

    Getting thumbs up from the likes of Alia Bhatt, Siddharth Malhotra, Ayushmann Khurrana and Sophie Choudary amongst others, Bajirao Mastani is produced by Eros International and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The movie is slated to release worldwide on 18 December, 2015.

    Zee beefs up OTT strategy; launches original digital content

    MUMBAI: At a time when multiple companies are putting their might behind pumping up their over-the-top (OTT) offerings like Hotstar, ErosNow, Sony Liv and HOOQ amongst others, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Zeel) is not one to sit back. Putting the money where their mouth is, Zee is upping the ante in by launching original digital content for its OTT and digital platforms.

     

    In order to offer content anywhere and at any time, Zeel has got its entire digital ecosystem – Zee Digital Convergence (ZDC) – and its content studio – Essel Vision Productions – to design and introduce an instrumental musical show -#LifeIsMusic.

    Eros to propel digital play in July with campaign; defers Pay TV strategy

    MUMBAI: Indian entertainment company Eros International Plc is betting big on digital play with its over the top (OTT) platform ErosNow. Come July and the company will unveil its exclusive movie line-up as well as original shows on the platform.

     

    In order to push its offerings on ErosNow, the company will launch a marketing campaign around its movie premieres (pre-television, post-theatrical window), as well as original shows.

     

    What’s more, Eros has deferred its plans to launch pay TV channels as was planned earlier and will instead focus on strengthening its position in the OTT arena. The company had plans to launch a Hindi movie channel and a music channel.

     

    Even as the company’s television licensing revenues continue to be strong on the back of digitization and constitutes over 35 per cent of its revenues; in the light of its new focus on its OTT space, Eros’ strategy will be to premiere films on ErosNow and then syndicate them to television channels around the world after that window closes.

     

    In FY-2015, digital and ancillary segments of the company contributed revenues of $59.9 million as compared to $47.7 million in FY-2014. The company’s other two primary revenue streams theatrical and television syndication contributed revenue of $123.1 million and $101.2 million respectively in FY-2015 as compared to $107.5 million and $80.3 million respectively in FY-2014.

     

    Eros International managing director and CEO Jyoti Deshpande said, “Our pre-launch phase of ErosNow has been very successful with 19 million registered users globally, up 35.7 per cent from the 14 million users we announced in February 2015. We believe the combination of being an early mover, our unique studio assets, and the high market share of our extensive library positions us to be the leading player in the Indian digital entertainment industry.”

     

    Eros International reported 20.7 per cent growth in revenue to $284.3 million in FY-2015 (year ended 31 March, 2015) as compared to the $235.5 million in the previous year. Currency comparable revenues increased by 22.4 per cent.

     

    For the quarter ended 31 March, 2015 (Q4-2015), the company reported 39.8 per cent (currency comparable revenues increased by 40.7 per cent) revenue growth to $88.5 million as compared to the $63.3 million in the corresponding year ago quarter.

     

    Eros reported 32.9 per cent increment in net income to $49.3 million in FY-2015 from the $37.1 million in FY-2014. Net income in Q4-2015 more than tripled (3.01 times) the $19.4 million as compared to the $6.4 million in Q4-2014.

     

    Deshpande added, “Our fourth quarter and full year results demonstrate the strength and scalability of our business, our dominant leadership position and our ability to capitalize on the growing and underpenetrated Indian media, entertainment and digital industry.”

     

    “Our growth from non-Diaspora international markets shows a growing appetite for Bollywood content in many new markets. One of our strongest potential markets, China, with a market size of $4.8 billion and over 23,600 screens, is projected to soon surpass Hollywood as the largest film market in the world. Our latest collaboration agreements with Chinese Film Corp and Shanghai Film Group to co-produce and distribute Sino-Indian films are important steps in maximizing our opportunity in China.”

     

    Eros’ television syndication revenue remained strong in fiscal year 2015, with an over 50 per cent increase quarter-on-quarter, with high and medium budget films helping Eros syndicate attractive bundles of new and library films.

     

    Eros group executive chairman Kishore Lulla said, “By creating the first studio model in India and achieving 20 times growth in the last ten years to now over $100 million in adjusted EBITDA, Eros has successfully completed its first pioneering effort in transforming the Indian film industry and becoming its global leader.     MUMBAI: Eros International Media’s online entertainment service ErosNow has joined hands with Kerala’s Internet Service Provider (ISP) Asianet Broadband to launch a movie streaming service called Broadband Movies.

     

    The streaming service will enable Asianet customers to watch high quality entertainment content including its south Indian repertoire of movies and music from the ErosNow platform on multiple smart devices. The subscription-based service will be available to all Asianet Broadband subscribers with a one month free subscription.

     

    Eros Digital CEO Rishika Lulla Singh said, “We are delighted to partner with Asianet Broadband and bring the best in movies to its large subscriber base in Kerala. Asianet’s large scale bandwidth and high speed will allow users to view unlimited entertainment from our wide catalogue.”

    MUMBAI: Eros International Media’s on-demand entertainment portal ErosNow has added shows from Sony Entertainment Television (SET) and Sab to its catalogue. The content will be available to members at no extra subscription costs.

     

    Since most of the shows are currently on-air, archived content will be made available on the platform as well. Shows like CID, Taarak Mehat Ka Ooltah Chasmah and Balveer will be made available to subscribers on the platform.

    ErosNow inks partnership with RailTel

    MUMBAI: The on-demand entertainment platform of Eros International Media, ErosNow has inked a tie-up with RailTel Corporation of India (RailTel).

     

    RailTel is a PSU under the Railway Ministry and the tie-up is for ErosNow streaming services, which has been launched through broadband for railway passengers.

     

    The Wi-Fi service was implemented at New Delhi and Bangalore stations recently for providing high speed internet to passengers with plans to provide the facility to 75 major category railway stations in India and in trains too very soon.

     

    The broadband streaming service will enable passengers at railway stations across the country to download and view their favourite entertainment content from ErosNow on their phones.

     

    RailTel has launched high speed Wi-Fi network on key railway stations and passengers will be informed about this exclusive service on arrival at stations.
