    Gionee elevates Deepika Singh

    MUMBAI: Gionee India has promoted Deepika Singh as the director for marketing communications. Singh has been heading the company’s important communications and corporate affairs portfolio for the last one and a half years.

    Singh, along with managing and directing company’s internal and external communications, will also support the company’s brand building initiatives and sales growth across regions.

    Singh’s elevation comes at a time when Gionee is looking to aggressively push its current market share of five per cent upwards. Singh’s role is intended to augment the core team in strengthening brand communications and build preference and loyalty for Gionee among a fast increasing customer base. As part of Gionee’s concerted push to foster community connect, Singh will also be responsible for spearheading the company’s CSR initiatives, developing appropriate social responsibility goals and metrics and overseeing their implementation.

    Gionee India Country CEO and MD Arvind R Vohra said, “We are looking to beef up our core management team in India with fresh thinking and talent that blends multiple skills and experiences. This is the year when we will focus on taking Gionee to the next level of growth, while becoming one of the most loved brands in India. I believe Deepika has all it takes to deliver on this mandate and we are excited to promote her to this new role.”

    21st Century Fox ups Jared Sher to SVP & associate general counsel

    MUMBAI: 21st Century Fox has promoted Jared Sher to senior vice president and associate general counsel.

     

    Sher continues to have primary responsibility for advising 21st Century Fox on domestic media regulatory issues and representing its portfolio companies before the FCC.

     

    He is based at the company’s Washington, DC, office and reports to 21st Century Fox senior vice president and deputy general counsel Ellen Agress.

     

    “Jared has distinguished himself with the outstanding policy counsel he provides for our domestic broadcast and cable business and we are pleased to recognize his many valuable contributions to our organization,” said Agress.

     

    Sher served as 21st Century Fox vice president and associate general counsel for the last three-plus years, having previously advised the company as counsel at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP & Affiliates from 1999 to 2012.

    Publicis Capital elevates Joy Mohanty to NCD

    MUMBAI: Publicis Capital has elevated Joy Mohanty as its national creative director. Mohanty will continue to be based in Delhi and will report to Publicis South Asia chief creative officer Bobby Pawar.

     

    Bobby Pawar on Mohanty’s elevation said, “In the time that I have worked with Joy, I’ve found him to be who not only focused on making great ads, but also finding brilliant solutions to our clients’ problems. He is also a really good leader. His elevation is recognition of the role he has played in improving our output in the past year and the role he will play in helping us raise our game even more.”

    Mohanty has been with Publicis Capital for over nine years. In a career spanning 21 years he has worked at FCB Ulka, Bates Clarion, Leo Burnett and Contract.

     

    Some of the prominent brands he has worked are: Maruti Suzuki Corporate, Maruti Swift, Maruti A-star, Suzuki Scooters & Motorcycles, LG Home Appliances, Dabur Chyawanprash, Personal Care, Homemade, Thums Up, Maaza, Apollo Tyres, Carrier Aircon, among others.

     

    Mohanty has won numerous local and international awards, including the One Show, D&AD, New York Festivals and Goafest.
