    DB Corp names Rahul Namjoshi as CEO of My FM

    Mumbai: Publishing house DB Corp has promoted Rahul Namjoshi to the position of chief executive officer (CEO) of its radio division – My FM. According to Namjoshi’s LinkedIn profile, he took over as CEO of the radio division in October.

    Namjoshi has been serving as the chief operating officer (COO) of the radio division since May 2019. As COO, he was responsible for improving the radio division’s profitability. He managed a team of 500+ people spread over 30 stations and eight corporate markets.

    Namjoshi’s elevation was confirmed by DB Corp president Harrish M Bhatia, who served as the CEO of DB Corp’s radio division for almost 10 years till August 2017. “Dreams do come true – yes I am happy to share that one of my dreams came true few days back. Rahul Namjoshi is promoted as CEO of MY FM. I am so happy to see progress that Rahul has made,” said Bhatia in a recently shared post on social media.

    “When I took over in 2007 I had Rahul in my team, and I remember sometime around 2012/2013 in one of the meetings I had expressed my desire that it is my dream that one of our team members take over from me when I move on instead of a new person coming from outside. Finally, this dream has come true. It’s very important for any organisation which has great culture, growing, good processes and systems in place that somebody from within the system should take over to take it forward,” he added.

    Prior to his promotion as COO, Namjoshi was My FM’s business head for over one year since November 2017. He joined My FM in March 2007 as regional head – Gujarat following which he was elevated as national vorporate sales head in July 2011.

    DB Corp forayed into the radio business with 94.3 My FM in 2006. The radio station sets up its network across 30 tier 2 and 3 cities across seven Indian states, building on the lineage of Bhaskar Group.

    Mumbai: DDB Mudra has elevated Iraj Fraz Batla to the position of creative head – North, in order to strengthen its creative leadership structure. Prior to this, he served as executive creative director (ECD) – West for over three years in the company. 

    As ECD, Fraz successfully led the creative mandate for brands like Kwality Walls Kids, Meesho, Cars24, and Protinex. In his new role, he will drive the creative output from the North office under the leadership of DDB Mudra Group chief creative officer Rahul Mathew, said the statement.

    In a career spanning over 18 years, Fraz has worked with some of the biggest creative agencies in the world including Scarecrow M&C Saatchi, Y&R Dubai, JWT, Lowe Lintas, among others. He brings in a wealth of knowledge from his experience of working with 35+ Indian and international brands. His work has won several accolades at Spikes Asia, Adfest, Kyoorius, Effies and Goafest.

    Mumbai: Homegrown rural fintech Spice Money has strengthened its leadership team and elevated Sanjeev Kumar from his earlier role of CEO to co-founder and CEO. Rajneesh Arora, previously chief innovation and strategy officer, has now been appointed as co-founder and chief product and strategy officer. 

    In this new role, Kumar will drive the company’s strategic business plan that spells growth for both Spice Money and Travel Union. Arora will work closely with the product and strategy teams to deliver unique and world-class experiences to Spice Money’s partners and end-users, said the company in a statement.

    Both Kumar and Arora will be supported by a strong team of next-in-line leaders with expertise in different verticals. This fortified leadership team will fuel the next round of growth for Spice Money by furthering digital and technological innovation, it added.

    Vidyuth Bhandary named studio head of Dice Media

    Mumbai: Strengthening its key leadership team further, Pocket Aces, a homegrown digital media entertainment company has announced the elevation of Vidyuth Bhandary to the studio head, Dice Media.

    Bhandary joined Pocket Aces in 2020 as vice president, content production and design, where he spearheaded and scaled up the company’s in-house production and post-production capabilities. In his new capacity, he will lead the expansion of Dice Media, drive strategy, P&L and OTT relationships, said the company in a statement.

    The natural progression to this larger role is a credit to his strategic leadership, successfully scaling up Pocket Aces’ content production and post-production capabilities, it added.

    “We are scaling up Dice Media to become one of the most highly acclaimed long-form studios in the country.     Mumbai: Disney-owned Star India Network has elevated Vaibhav Goyal to Star Sports senior vice president – ad sales, as per his LinkedIn profile. Previously, he held the position of Star Sports vice president – ad sales, for 6.6 years.

    Goyal joined Star Sports as assistant manager and he was named assistant vice president – ad sales in July 2003. Prior to Star Sports, he was with GroupM India as planning manager for over three years.

    A qualified engineer from MITS – Gwalior, Goyal has completed his MBA from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies.

    Mumbai: Krishnan Kutty is named as executive vice president and head of Tamil, Malayalam and Marathi (TV and OTT) at Star and Disney India. He was previously the business head for Star Vijay.

    Kutty is an experienced media professional who has been in the industry for 22 years out of which 16 years were spent with Star TV Network. He previously had stints with Mindshare, NDTV and Hutch before joining Star in 2005 as vice president – research and on air. While he was heading Star India’s Tamil language business, he was responsible for growing market share by four times and revenues by three times in four years.  

    He completed his graduation from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) and his MBA in marketing from Indian School of Business.

    Mumbai: Global technology brand OnePlus has elevated its vice president, chief strategy officer, and head of sales in India, Navnit Nakra, to the role of OnePlus India CEO and head of the brand for India region.

    As part of this new senior leadership role, Nakra will spearhead the company’s business operations and overall strategy for the India region, said the statement.

He went on to also oversee the sales operations of the company in the region, taking on the additional role of head of India sales over the past year.

    Mumbai: Cosmo Films has elevated Pankaj Poddar as group CEO to head its newly launched consumer business Zigly, alongside trade verticals including films, labelling and packaging, specialty chemicals, ferrites, masterbatches, and textile chemicals. The development came into effect immediately and in recognition of the growth the company witnessed under Poddar’s leadership as CEO of the business.

    With a career spanning over 26 years, Poddar has held key leadership positions in the company across business units and verticals. As the chief financial officer at Cosmo Films in 2011, he was responsible for managing the financial operations in India as well as overseas. Since his appointment as CEO in the year 2013, all verticals of Cosmo have witnessed year-on-year growth.

He is a regular speaker at packaging industry forums and sits on the board of Organisation of Plastic Processors of India, Plast India, and IFCA.

    MUMBAI: Gionee India has promoted Deepika Singh as the director for marketing communications. Singh has been heading the company’s important communications and corporate affairs portfolio for the last one and a half years.

    Singh, along with managing and directing company’s internal and external communications, will also support the company’s brand building initiatives and sales growth across regions.

    Singh’s elevation comes at a time when Gionee is looking to aggressively push its current market share of five per cent upwards. Singh’s role is intended to augment the core team in strengthening brand communications and build preference and loyalty for Gionee among a fast increasing customer base. As part of Gionee’s concerted push to foster community connect, Singh will also be responsible for spearheading the company’s CSR initiatives, developing appropriate social responsibility goals and metrics and overseeing their implementation.
