    Superdry collaborates with Pepsi MTV Indies for music property

    MUMBAI: British brand Superdry has partnered with Pepsi MTV Indies for a unique music property – Superdry Krunk Live Sessions, which will brings together some of the hottest young musicians in the country alongside some of India’s best visual artists.

     

    This first of its kind show, which will launch on 29 October at 7 pm and will be aired from 7 – 7:30 pm. Superdry Krunk Live Sessions aims to showcase how visuals, when combined with music, can accentuate the whole experience, making it truly unique.

     

    The show is a six episode series, where each episode will feature three – four original collaborations between musicians and visual artists. This will be followed by musicians and visual artists talking about their background, musical inspirations and their collaborations on the show.

     

    The show will also have an on-ground extension as every episode will also be followed up with a gig featuring the artists in the respective episode. These performances will be held across cities like – Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Chandigarh, Hyderabad and Bangalore.

     

    Some of the well-known Indie music artists to be seen on the show will be – Kumail, Ox7gen, Nicholson, Donn Bhat, Madboy/Mink, Alowala, AquaDominatrix and Your Chin. The visual artists who will be collaborating with these musicians include – Moebius, Wolves, Transhuman Collective, Godgamut and Oblique.

     

    The show will be hosted by DJ Mo City aka Mohammed Abood, a music entrepreneur and DJ with a passion for authentic music from all around the world. DJ Mo City will also interact with these artists while they create these sounds and visuals, taking the audiences on a Visual Musical Extravaganza.

    GroupM & Dancestar to develop first global electronic music TV platform

    MUMBAI: GroupM has inked a partnership with Dancestar Ventures to bring the Electronic Music Awards Show to Asia and other key television markets worldwide.

     

    Dancestar Asia will be the first project of the partnership and will be developed for TV distribution in the region. It will celebrate the achievement of Asian and international DJs and artists. Scheduled to be held in Singapore in December 2015, Dancestar Asia is intended to be a two-hour award ceremony featuring 21 categories of achievement.

     

    Winners for the 21 categories will be decided by public voting via several major social media channels across the region that will be announced shortly. Dancestar Asia will also feature 12 live performance collaborations from global artists in what is expected to be an epic night of music showcasing the best of the exploding electronic music scene in Asia.

    Ranveer Singh to host the fourth edition of the Gionee Star GiMA Awards

    MUMBAI: The fourth edition of Gionee Star Global Indian Music Awards (GiMA) Awards powered by Reliance 3G will see the ever dynamic Ranveer Singh take centre stage to once again host music’s premiere awards.

     

    Ranveer also hosted the second edition of the awards, which proved to be a hit among the audiences enthralling with an opening rap. Seeing the very best of India’s musical talent on one platform, the ground event will take place on 20 January, 2014 and be held at the newly inaugurated National Sports Club of India (NSCI) stadium in Mumbai.

    GiMA provides a unified platform to celebrate and recognise those who push the boundaries of Indian Music, across a wide range of film and non-film music genres. This year, for the first time, GiMA has included new categories across pop, indie and EDM, making it a total of 13 awards in the Non-Film music categories and 11 awards for Film music. With greater representation of Indie artistes, GiMA has incorporated more contemporary music this year.
