    Mumbai: Wynk Music, a music streaming app by downloads and daily active users organised the only contest in India which gave its users the opportunity to win an exclusive tete-a-tete with international artist Ed Sheeran. The meeting was a dream come true for his fans who got to spend time with their favourite artist and share their stories and memories with them.

    The winners jammed with Ed on his chart-topper song ‘Afterglow’ in an exclusive never-before experience. The three winners for the contest were Keegan Farreira, Sai Kiran Kilaru and Ronitbunty Khetwani. They won from amongst thousands of fans who participated in the contest to show their love for the artist, the winners made handmade customized gifts for Ed and presented it to him themselves.

    Organized as a culmination to Wynk’s campaign that encouraged users to participate in “Ed Sheeran Trivia Marathon” by answering questions on the global artist and streaming his songs on the app, the event was in line with Wynk’s continued endeavor to bring its users closer to their favorite artist.     Taking the celebration, a notch higher, Wynk also released an exclusive message from Ed Sheeren for select users who participated in the content but could not win the catch-up with him. In the video, Ed thanked his fans for taking part in the contest and assured that he would be coming back to India for more contests in the future.

    Wynk has also released a video with the highlights of the heartfelt conversations between Ed and his fans from the meet-up, across its social media platforms.

    Ed Sheeran was in the country as part of his Mathematics Tour. During the meeting, he warmly greeted his fans and thanked the winners for participating in the contest wholeheartedly.

    Mumbai: Ed Sheeran proudly presents 14 fan-created, official music videos to accompany the 14 tracks on his acclaimed new album “Autumn Variations.”  The series launched last week with the premiere of the first two videos:   “That’s On Me” by  Beatriz Santamaria Pinha of Brazil and “American Town” by Michael Lamhang of the US, and the latest release is from India for “Head > Heels” by Anshul Mittal & Kanika Gupta (Digiscape.ai) which is streaming on Ed’s official YouTube channel now.

    Earlier this fall, Ed engaged fans from every corner of the globe to create music videos of their own for each song on “Autumn Variations.” After receiving over 4,000 entries courtesy of creators in over 75 countries. Ed personally handpicked a cohort of 14 winners, representing 14 different countries across five continents, namely Ireland, United Kingdom, Australia, Italy, The Netherlands, United States, Brazil, Germany, Japan, France, New Zealand, Taiwan, Mexico, and India. This endeavor continues the execution of Ed’s initial vision for “Autumn Variations” as an album for the fans and by the fans as he spotlights their artistry.  The remaining videos will roll out over the coming weeks (full list of videos and directors below).

  • YouTube’s Top 50: T-Series tops & SET India bags 5th slot

    MUMBAI: T-Series stay put in its #1 spot on the top of the charts for the 11th week in a series. One of the India’s largest music labels and movie studio’s destination on YouTube popped up 26% to close out the week with more than 321.3 million views. Way far behind in the second place was Ryan ToysReview. The aging toddler saw his channel go up 4% in its week-over-week view count to top out at nearly 214.8 million views, TubeFilter reported.

    A total of 5,401,711,439 views were amassed by the top 50 most viewed YouTube channels worldwide this week. Tubefilter Charts is a weekly rankings column from Tubefilter with data provided by OpenSlate.

    In the #3 spot was Ed Sheeran. The international star’s new music video for “Galway Girl” is keeping him in the top list at more than 187.7 million views. Puerto Rican musician Luis Fonsi was in the fourth place with over 184.1 million views on the week.

    In the fifth position was SET India. The YouTube home of Sony Entertainment (India) jumped up 19% to end the week with almost 183.1 million views.

    The honor of one of the Top Gainers on the chart this week goes to The Late Late Show with James Corden. CBS’ talk show generally does well on the world’s largest video sharing site when its host offers up a new iteration of Carpool Karaoke. The channel witnessed a 232% week-over-week increase in views.
