    Salman Khan’s Being Human forays into film production

    MUMBAI: The latest development is that Dr. Cabbie, an upcoming venture will be presented by Salman Khan‘s Being Human Productions.

    Dr. Cabbie is the story of an Indian immigrant and for Khan, it has an inherent universal appeal. The film is the heart warming journey of a young Indian doctor who migrates to Canada with the selfless ambition of healing others while beginning a new life in the land of opportunity.

    The lead character discovers his true purpose and true love when he embarks upon this journey of a doctor turned cabbie. In the bargain the unemployed doctor turned cabbie becomes a local hero when he converts his taxi into a mobile clinic.

    Produced by FirstTake Entertainment and Caramel Films, Dr. Cabbie stars Vinay Virmani and Adrianne Palicki.

    The film, to be directed by one of Canada‘s most acclaimed director Jean-Francois Poulliot, will be released by Eros international (Indian subcontinent) and Entertainment One (Canada).

    Vinay Virmani set to star in Dr. Cabbie

    MUMBAI: Vinay Virmani, best known for his performance in Breakaway (dubbed in Hindi as Speedy Singhs) is all set to star in Dr. Cabbie, the oddball theatrical comedy by Jean-Francois Pouliot, the director who helmed Quebec. The film is being produced by Montreal-based production house Caramel Film.
     
    Dr. Cabbie is based on a script by Virmani, Ron Kennel and Manu Chopra. It is the story of a young Indian doctor (Virmani) who has newly-arrived in Canada and is compelled to work as a taxi driver after being rejected by local medical schools. While driving the cab, the young doctor treats people he picks up as passengers as part of a mobile clinic.
     
    The film is being produced jointly by Andre Rouleau, Pauline Dhillon, and Virmani.
