    DQE to co-produce ‘The Jungle Book’ season 3 with Ellipsanime

    MUMBAI: DQ Entertainment (DQE) will be co-producing the the third season of The Jungle Book (52 x 11’) CGI series along with France’s Ellipsanime.

     

    The third season will be supported and co-produced by ZDFE, Germany; ZDFTV, Germany and PIWI (Canal+), France. 

     

    The Jungle Book season 3 continues to receive strong support from Telequbec, Canada and other season 2 broadcast partners. The series is expected to be available for broadcast globally by early 2017.

     

    In the third season, Mowgli and his friends will continue their thrilling and sometimes comedic adventures. Characters like Baloo- the Bear, Bagheera – the Panther and others will team up with Mowgli to keep the dangerous and sly Sher Khan at bay.

     

    ZDF head of international co-productions and acquisitions for children’s and youth programming Nicole Keeb said, “It was an easy decision to continue with The Jungle Book. The first two seasons are working so well for ZDF and KiKA that we were basically obliged to go on. And we do this with great pleasure!”

    DQE & Method Animation to co-produce CGI TV series ‘5 & It’

    MUMBAI: DQ Entertainment and Method Animation have joined hands to co-produce the CGI TV series 5 & It, which is a modern adaption of Edith Nesbit’s popular book Five Children & It.

     

    The project is being co-produced with Disney Channel Germany and supported by Noga, Israel. Disney Channel France has pre-acquired the show.

     

    The 52 episode CGI TV series has received wide ranging interest from broadcasters and licensing agents globally, and will be available for broadcast on channels across the world by mid-2017.

     

    The series follows the adventures and escapades of five children after they befriend a sand fairy at their uncle’s beachfront mansion. The sand fairy, Psammead, offers to grant them one wish each day.

     

    The Walt Disney Company GSA Disney Channels executive programming director & deputy general manager Rolf Gerhardt said, “We are very pleased to co-produce the new animated series 5 & It together with DQE and to deliver creative input. The new series will fit perfectly in the Disney Channel lineup for a young audience and is in line with Disney’s rich heritage of creative storytelling, with a new look, and great animation.     DQE strengthens digital media strategy to monetise content

    MUMBAI: As part of its digital media strategy, entertainment production and distribution company DQ Entertainment have launched two YouTube channels- Power Kids and Tiny Toonz in association with leading multi channel network Whacked Out! Media (WOM).

    Power Kids will showcase animated content for children aged five and above while Tiny Toonz will be aimed at younger children. It will also launch its content and games on other platforms such as Google Play store, Amazon and iTunes.

    The reason for the new digital initiative is to make full use of its rich animated library and target all platforms including apps, smartphones, tablets, social media etc. DQ is banking on this to substantially add to grow revenue. WOM will be a strategic digital media partner for YouTube, allowing DQ to monetise its animated properties and mobile games.

    DQE content includes The Jungle Book, Peter Pan, Lassie, Iron Man, Robin Hood, Casper etc. It will also show exclusive online educational entertainment content.

    DQE, Wild Canary partner to produce Miles from Tomorrowland

    MUMBAI: The animation house is making waves across the world and a latest deal strengthens it more. DQ Entertainment (DQE) has bagged a deal to produce Disney Junior Miles from Tomorrowland along with USA’s Wild Canary Animation. It will be a 24 episode CGI HD animated space adventure series that will be released in 2015.

     

    Disney Jr and Wild Canary have already started working on the series earlier this year. DQE will be handling the post-production of the series. Emmy nominated Sascha Paldino (Henry Hugglemonster, Ni Hao, Kai-lan) is the executive producer of the series, while Emmy nominated Paul Demeyer (Duckman, Rugrats in Paris) will be directing it.

     

    Set in the Disney parks area, the show’s curriculum is based around educating children about science, technology and space travel. Each episode will have two stories of 11 minutes each that will take kids on a ride to a new world to drive their interest in the universe, mathematics, language skills and the importance of family bonding.

     

    DQE group founder and CEO Tapaas Chakravarti said, “We are thrilled to embark on production of this exciting new Disney series with Wild Canary, USA.     According to industry sources the deal should bring in an incremental business of about $5-7 million for the company.

We could not have a better partner than DQ Entertainment to move forward with this new venture. DQ Entertainment’s structure and parallel CGI pipeline to ours was an important ingredient in choosing an overseas animation partner. Tapaas and his staff embraced Miles and delivered a great pilot. We look forward to a long standing relationship with them, both for this series and future projects.”

     

    The series will air on Disney Junior channels across the world.

  • DQE appoints Sun-Mate as global toy partner for The Jungle Book

    MUMBAI: DQ Entertainment International (DQE) has appointed global toy manufacturer Sun-Mate Corporation to be the master global toy partner for the new 3D, CGI international animated TV series, The Jungle Book.

    As the appointed global master toy partner, Sun-Mate will design and manufacture a large variety of toys for the new The Jungle Book including play sets, figurines, plush, electronic toys, walkie-talkies, role-play and outdoor adventure sets.

    Sun-mate will preview the new toy line at the forthcoming 2013 Hong Kong Toy Fair, New York Toy Fair and Nuremberg Toy Fair events, as part of their initial global sales launches for the brand. The Company will also announce, in the near future, key appointments for regional distributors in conjunction with the new series’ growing popularity internationally.

    The deal follows Sun-Mate’s appointment, earlier this fall, by SMC Entertainment Group, INC (SMC) to be the North American master toy licensee for the brand. SMC holds the North American rights for home entertainment, licensing, merchandising and promotional rights for the new 3D CGI animated TV series brand.

    SMC also secured the master toy rights for “The Jungle Book” for Australia and New Zealand and all licensing and merchandising for South Africa. DQ Entertainment (DQE) is the producer and global rights owners of new “The Jungle Book” animated TV series.

    The Jungle Book, new 3D, CGI animated series, is airing in 165 countries across the globe, and currently has over 100 licensees worldwide in key categories of publishing, gaming, digital, apparel, accessories, home furnishings, back-to-school, games, puzzles, HBA, confections, amusement, Halloween and seasonal products.
