  • Indian Telly Awards special jury meeting for Lifetime Achievement Award

    MUMBAI: The apex award at the Indian Telly Awards is the award for Lifetime Contribution to Indian television. The Indian Telly Awards have set up a special jury for deciding the winner of the same.
    The jury will brainstorm and zero in on one personality who has made a sizable contribution to the television industry.
    The special jury consists of eminent trade professionals including Reliance Entertainment chairman Amit Khanna, Madison India CMD Sam Balsara, FCB Ulka ED and Lodestar Media chief executive Shashi Sinha, promoter of Broadcast Worldwide Pvt Ltd Rathikant Basu, Leo Burnett CEO Arvind Sharma, Indiantelevision.com managing editor Thomas Abraham, Kotak Mahindra senior vice president Nandan Maluste, Asianet COO Mohan Nair, Doordarshan Mumbai station director Mukesh Sharma, Spatial Access CEO Meenakshi Madhvani, head of Zenith Media Praveen Tripathi. 
    Indiantelevision.com founder and CEO Anil Wanvari will be heading the jury meet.
    Last year the honour was bestowed upon NDTV president Dr Prannoy Roy. Prior to that, in 2001 the Lifetime Contribution Award went to Zee Telefilms chairman Subhash Chandra.

    DD Sahyadri has its own website

    MUMBAI: After DD Jaipur, Doordarshan Mumbai has become the second Kendra in the country to have launched its own website.

    www.ddmumbai.com or www.sahyadritv.com was launched on 2 October 2002, the day Mumbai Doordarshan turned 30. Conceived and developed in house, the site provides information about the history of the centre and weekly programme schedules as also links to the Cable Act and the latest TRPs.

    The idea, say DD officials, was to familiarise viewers with DD Sahyadri programmes, which are the among the best among the current lot of the pubcaster’s shows. Special information about the channel’s interactive shows like Hello Doctor, Hello Sakhi and Saad Pratisaad is given to enable viewers to participate in the shows. The site will be devloped gradually to become an interactive interface for advertisers, programme producers as well as information database for viewers, say officials.
