    MUMBAI: Brands are bursting Diwali offers. As the festive season draws closer, all the D2H players, one after the other, are extending lucrative offers to consumers to buy their products and subscribe to their service. Tata Sky had run a promotional offer between 8 and 21 August on its tenth anniversary, under which it allowed subscribers to watch all its 500 plus channels at no extra cost.

    DishTV has now come up with a special Diwali HD offer. Customers can opt for a high-definition set-top box at minimal additional cost just by paying Rs. 120 extra. The subscribers can also view HD channels via DishTV’s small HD entertainment add-on packs.

    DTH operator Videocon d2h has hopped on to the bandwagon of the promotional offers. Videocon boasts of a 11-12 million active subscriber base and has branded the promotion as “Khushiyon kee Diwali.”

    New Videocon subscribers will have to pay only Rs 1820 for HD or Rs 1620 for a standard definition connection. On choosing a monthly subscription plan, the newbie can instantaneously upgrade themselves to the next higher upgrade plan for two months at no cost. Additionally, existing subscribers can also avail of the free two month upgrade by coughing up just Rs 10 extra on their monthly plan. The DTH operator had upped its prices by a minimum of about Rs 20 a month across subscription packges on account of the rise in service tax, various levies and other input costs.

    Says Videocon d2h executive chairman Saurabh Dhoot: “The festive season is all about mega enjoyment. This year our Diwali offer covers everyone from our existing subscriber to the potential subscriber opting for a new connection from Videocon d2h. This offer blends perfectly with our brand promise of providing wholesome entertainment for the family.”

    Adds Videocon d2h CEO Anil Khera: “Our Khushiyon kee Diwali promotion from 1 October to 30 November h Nov gives our existing consumer to enjoy the festive season with an upgrade to the next higher monthly plan for 60 days. We strongly believe that this attractive offer will create waves in the market in this festive season.”

    Videocon d2h offer subscribers 570 channels and services, including a host of regional channels. It offers a wide range of active services like smart services including smart English, smart games.

    DishTV’s HD sachets capture the interest of consumers towards HD viewing by offering them the channels at a nominal price of Rs.75 for one. This offering enables DishTV subscribers to select these small packs as per their preferences and needs. “With users aspiring for HD channels, this move is to encourage them to embrace HD channels at a minimal cost,” said DishTV CEO Arun Kapoor.

    For new HD connections, customers will now have to pay an introductory price of Rs. 1990 which will include subscription of one-month super family pack or jumbo pack and one HD add-on for one month at no extra cost. The new connection will also include a universal remote. DishTV has a complete offering and mix of 51 high-definition entertainment, music, news and regional language channels. The offer is available across all parts of the country.

    Speaking about the association with Shivaay, Pen India MD Dhaval Jayantilal Gada said, “Shivaay is a very ambitious project and is being made with grandeur and on a large scale.     Dentsu Aegis Network celebrates Diwali with philanthropic activities

    MUMBAI: Dentsu Aegis Network has initiated the “Joy of Giving” week to celebrate Diwali not just amongst its own employees but even beyond.

     

    As part of the initiative, Dentsu Aegis Network organised a week-long Diwali Mela across all its Mumbai offices, where NGOs were invited to set up stalls and showcase their artwork.

     

    “Kitchen Re-fill” project was their second initiative this Diwali, as part of which, more than 300kgs of rice grains and 40kgs of pulses were donated to St. Francais, an orphanage located in Borivali (Mumbai).

     

    Dentsu Aegis Network, SA, chairman and CEO Ashish Bhasin said, “At Dentsu Aegis Network, we consider it as our responsibility to spread knowledge and joy amongst our employees and also give back to the society. Everyone here is special and therefore, on this festive occasion, we decided to reach out to our employees and their kids and also engage with the less privileged children from the orphanage we support. The objective behind hosting this fun day was to celebrate the onset of Diwali with happiness and to make everyone feel at home in their second home, our office.”

     

    In addition to the above, the Group also organised the “Newspapers Collection” drive for the NGO The Wasted Ones, which sells old newspapers and utilises the proceeds to provide meals to schools for the underprivileged children. Meanwhile, 30 children from Shelter Don Bosco were invited to Dentsu Aegis Network for a fun filled day on 9 November.

     

    Dentsu Aegis Network’s Bangalore office conducted a blood donation drive and collected more than 50 bottles of blood. Employees also visited VKH Rainbow Home-Kodihalli Orphanage on 6 November to donate food grains and stationery.

     

    The network’s Gurgaon office collected funds from its employees’ salary to provide gloves, socks, caps and notebooks to the underprivileged children, which is supported by the Sankalp Welfare Society.

     

    In Kolkata, the Group’s employees decided to spend a few constructive hours with the boys of Dakshin Kalikata Sevasram, a home for the destitute.

     

    Dentsu Aegis Network India CFO Anand Bhadkamkar added, “At Dentsu Aegis Network, we believe in creating an environment, which is not just responsible towards its employees and also the society and communities that we work in.     MUMBAI: With Diwali and Children’s Day around the corner, Turner International India’s kids’ channels – Cartoon Network and Pogo, are pulling out all stops to line up week-long celebrations with new movies, specials and contests including a chance to win a trip to Singapore.

     

    What’s more, Cartoon Network will also be celebrating the birthday of popular cartoon character Kris (Roll No. 21) with a week-long stunt. From 9 – 14 November, kids can tune into Kris Ka Dhamakedar Birthdayat 10:30 am to watch movies and specials including Salman Khan’s latest cameo on Cartoon Network in theKris Sang Salman Aayo special.

     

    Additionally, watch Lights Camera Roll No. 21: Ticket to Bollywood, a new movie featuring Kris making his Bollywood debut will be aired on 14 November at 10:30 am.

     

    In the spirit of gifting this festive season, Kris will celebrate his birthday and Diwali with six lucky fans. All kids have to do is tune in to the Kris ka Dhamakedar Birthday contest and participate in the contest to win an invite to the party.

     

    On the other hand Pogo will air the Dholakpurwali Diwali stunt from 9 – 13 November. The channel will roll out back-to-back Chhota Bheem movies and specials that will be aired throughout the week from 9 am onwards. On 11 November, Pogo will feature a new movie called Chhota Bheem: Dinosaur World at 12 pm. Additionally, on Pogo’s Prem Dilwala Aur Bheem Dholakpurwala will see Salman Khan’s third appearance on the channel on 12 November at 12pm.

     

    Kids can also win a holiday to Singapore by participating in the Dholakpurwali Diwali contest from 9 – 13November by answering a few questions.

    This Diwali, Big Magic & 92.7 Big FM presents ‘Ji Sirji’

    MUMBAI: Big Magic poised to be the ultimate comedy destination from Reliance Broadcast Network Limited, launches yet another innovative concept from its bouquet of differentiated content titled Ji Sirji.

     

    In line with its integrated programming strategy, this is the fifth successive show being launched by the network, which will air from November 11th, every Wednesday, Thursday at 10 PM on Big Magic and Wednesday, Thursday at 9 PM on 92.7 Big FM.

     

    Versatile actor Anup Soni will be seen taking the audiences on a hilarious ride, as he would bring forth day to day shenanigans in a professional work set-up, focusing on the relationship between bosses and their subordinates in the form of funny sketches. The show will also witness various actors playing roles of subordinates, who are usually at the receiving end of the whims and fancies of their respective bosses. One of the popular names playing a subordinate on the show is actor Gaurav Sharma, who is known for his character of Pappu from Total Nadaniyaan.

Moreover, he will portray bosses across professions, switching between a corporate executive, government babu and even a truck driver!

    Sony LIV rolls out digital film ‘Chhoti Khushi’ for Diwali

    MUMBAI: In the lead up to the festival of Diwali, Sony Pictures Networks’ (erstwhile Multi Screen Media) OTT platform Sony LIV has rolled out a digital film called Chhoti Khushi to support its social media campaign ‘LIV This Diwali.’

     

    The film features Naveen Kasturia, Suneel Sinha and Ashish Verma. The social media campaign weaved around the digital film invites participants and viewers to send Diwali Wishes to their family and friends.

     

    The story explores the complex relationship that Indian siblings share with each other, and how Diwali can become the raison d’etre for bringing together those, whom circumstances and situations often pull apart.

     

    Chhoti Khushi is about two brothers, Gaurav and Sharad, who have stopped talking to each other following an argument. However, as the momentous occasion of Diwali approaches, the brothers reminisce about each other and realise how petty their fight was.

     

    The film was meant for especially for the millennial audience, which knows how tough it is to maintain the delicate balance between education, work and commitment to friends and family over ever-increasing distances. The story takes viewers through an eventful journey that finally results in the brothers being reunited on Diwali.

    MUMBAI: HBO will be premiering Interstellar this Diwali on 8 November, 2015.

     

    The channel will telecast the movie at 1 pm with a repeat at 8 pm.

     

    HBO is also giving viewers a chance to externalise their memories in space by participating in the #MemoriesFromEarth contest.     MUMBAI: After almost a year of planning, Ajay Devgn’s next directorial venture Shivaay, is all set to go on floor in Mussoorie from 7 November.

     

    The first schedule kicks off in Landour, a small cantonment town contiguous with Mussoorie. The unit will then fly to Hyderabad and finally, to Bulgaria where major portions will be filmed.

     

    The film introduces Dilip Kumar’s grand-niece Sayesha Saigal while Devgn plays the title role.

     

    The movie is scheduled to release in Diwali 2016.

    MUMBAI: After launching an integrated satirical comedy show called Fakebook with TV actress Kavita Kaushik, Reliance Broadcast Network’s entertainment channel Big Magic and 92.7 Big FM will be launching yet another integrated series.

     

    The series called Comedy Ka Rocket will be presented in a completely fresh, upbeat and contemporary avatar; designed for viewers to embrace the weekend with variety comedy entertainment.

     

    The first few episodes of Comedy Ka Rocket will be around Dussehra (23rdOctober), Indian weddings (30th October) and Diwali (6th November) on BIG Magic at 9 pm and every Sunday at 12 pm on 92.7 BIG FM.

     

    Sharing some insights on the new series, Big Magic creative director Bimal Unnikrishnan said,”In sync with our viewers preferences and new programming strategy, we have conceptualised Comedy Ka Rocket, a series which will appear every Friday with optimal comedic content and an amalgamation of all genres of comedy. We are aiming to take entertainment a notch higher, with new innovations in content designing and programming.     Taking a cue from the essence of this festival, villains will take centre stage this time round instead of the heroes. They will be celebrated and their importance in the life of a hero will be showcased in full splendour.

     

    Celebrating the Wedding season, Sana Kapoor of Shaandaar fame will be seen as the celeb walk-in and the event will focus on the madness that surrounds a bollywood themed Indian wedding. The audience will witness a glimpse of the hilariously chaotic moments that leads up to a Big Fat Indian wedding. Celebrating Diwali with Bollywood Ke Patakhe, Sana Saeed and Natasa Stankovic will enthral audiences with their dance performances.
