  • DishTV launches Disney active service

    MUMBAI: They woke up a little late. Even though summer vacation is coming to a close, DishTV, Asia’s largest DTH service provider, and Disney India have announced the launch of Disney Active. Disney Active is available on Channel No. 966 on Dish TV.

    Disney Active, a fun and engaging service, brings home the magical world of Disney through a host of read-along-e-books and games.

    Disney has a legacy of timeless stories and characters and there is no better way to experience them than on one’s personal television. The audio-visual read-along stories are customised for children aged three and up, and will include Mickey & Friends, Disney Princess, Frozen, The Jungle Book, Disney. Pixar Cars, Toy Story and much more.

    The games feature classic Disney characters like Mickey & Friends, Tinker Bell and more. This service is available for free till 10 June, 2017, for all Dish TV subscribers, after which it will be available at an introductory price of Rs 40 per month.

  • DishTV adds two channels, takes total count to 620

    MUMBAI: While continuing the legacy to provide the best entertainment platform to its subscribers, Dish TV, Asia’s largest DTH brand has extended its collection by adding 2 new channels to its portfolio. With accumulation of “Mirror Now and Multiplex”. DishTV takes the total count of its channels and services to more than 620. 

    Being a trusted brand since five years now, DishTV keeps the entertainment quotient higher. With the addition of these channels they gauge to multiple genres namely; Mirror now for news, and Multiplex for Bollywood lovers. Details of the channels as follows:

  • Essel is Nurturing Young Seeds with NYS Leadership League

    MUMBAI: Nurturing Young Seeds, a venture of Essel Group, has created another milestone with the launch of NYS Leadership League which is one-of-its kind National Level leadership Competition for students. This leadership competition is organised in association with Essel Group and DishTV. NYS Leadership League will premiere on Zee News channel in the month of October this year.

    It will be a lifetime opportunity for a whopping 50,000 students (registration still going on) across India to participate and get exposure on Leadership with the NYSLL. The target audience defined for this landmark leadership programme is 11-18 years. This will help children to get multiple opportunities and eventually emerge as leader.

  • DishTV launches Cartoon Network games, with Visiware tie-up

    MUMBAI: DishTV, Asia’s largest direct-to-home (DTH) brand, has strengthened their partnership with Visiware International, the leader in games for interactive television to launch Cartoon Network games in partnership with Cartoon Network India, the most loved kids’ channel in India.

    Cartoon Network TV games, accessible on channel no. 967 within “PlayZone Active” on the DishTV platform, offers 8 games branded under the much loved and immensely popular major cartoon characters amongst kids, who lead the Cartoon Network portfolio–Ben10, Powerpuff Girls and Roll No. 21. A variety of games will be available under each of these characters to enhance the player’s experience and get them to engage closer with their favorite toons.

    The games will be rotated on a monthly basis with one game refreshed every month. What more, the player can resume playing at any level using the access code provided at the end of each level on a selection on games. The service is available from May 2017 to all Dish TV subscribers on Channel 967. This service will be available for free preview to all DishTV subscribers for one month post which the service will be charged Rs.40 (including taxes) per month.

    Visiware International, whose services have been deployed on 50+ networks worldwide, has for the last 20 years, been developing games for satellite, cable, IPTV and fiber networks as well as connected TV sets and OTT boxes.   • Service, quality & delivery: DishTV becomes world’s only CMMI L4-assessed M&E company

    MUMBAI: DishTV, Asia’s largest DTH brand, has announced that it has become the only Media & Entertainment organization in the world which has been appraised at Level 4 (CMMI-DEV and CMMI-SVC V1.3) of the CMMI institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) .

    This makes DishTV the newest member of an elite club. The SEI website lists only 15 companies, in India, in last three years together which have been certified for Level 4 or 5.

    Speaking on the achievement, DishTV CEO Arun Kumar Kapoor said, “We are glad to become world’s first Media & Entertainment Company to receive CMMI-DEV and CMMI-SVC V1.3 ML4 certification. At DishTV, we are committed to delivering products and services of highest quality to our subscribers.”

    “With the CMMI LEVEL 4 rating, we have demonstrated that we have built an infrastructure in our programme that clearly shows our on-going commitment to serving our customers with highest standards of service, quality and exceptional delivery in what we do,” Kapoor added.

    Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) is a Model developed by Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh USA, to improve process capability of organisations and benchmark capability of organisations worldwide. The first framework of Capability Maturity Model was established in the year 1987. It helps in improving timely delivery coupled with quality and cost effectiveness.

    CMMI benchmarking is the most prestigious recognition for IT and IT enabled organisations across the world. This framework consists of five maturity levels. Maturity Level 4 and 5 are known as high maturity levels and organisations assessed at these levels have a capability to quantitatively predict their delivery and quality performance using historical data based statistical models. These organisations demonstrate capability to accomplish and sustain their business objectives and performance.

    DishTV India Limited, IT division has been successfully appraised for combined CMMI-DEV and CMMI-SVC V1.3 ML4 in April 2017.

  • Migrate registration to GST regime, DishTV persuades distributors & trade partners

    MUMBAI: DishTV India Limited has announced that it has become the first DTH Company who has fully migrated to the GST regime in almost all the states of India (except for Himachal Pradesh who have not opened the migration).

    Dish TV is Asia Pacific’s largest direct-to-home (DTH) company and part of one of India’s biggest media conglomerate – the ‘Zee’ Group. Dish TV has on its platform more than 615 channels & services including 30 audio channels and over 68 HD channels & services.

    Being the active partner of the biggest Indirect Tax reform, the company has persuaded and asked all their distributors and trade partners to migrate their registration to the GST regime and become a part of nation building and digital India. DishTV has a distribution network of over 2,272 distributors & over 243,740 dealers that span across 9,431 towns in India.

    Furthermore, the company has taken the pledge not to deal with the distributors and channel partners who have not been registered under GST regime till the enactment of Act.

    Now, DishTV has announced that 75% of distributors and trade partners have migrated to GST regime and have contributed their efforts along with the company in the objective of ‘One Nation and One Tax’ laid down by the prime minister.

    Dish TV leverages multiple satellite platforms including NSS-6, Asiasat 5, SES-8 and GSAT-15 which makes its total bandwidth capacity equal 846 MHz, amongst the largest held by any DTH player in India.

  • DishTV expands its portfolio by 23 channels

    MUMBAI: Dish TV has expanded its portfolio by adding 23 new channels. This includes nine high-definition channels and 14 standard definition channels, taking the total count of channels and services to more than 615.  

    High definition technology has taken the country by storm. Not only the urban but the rural hinterlands of the country have started adopting high definition viewing. 

    DishTV has taken the initiative to take HD to masses with the introduction of lowest entry pack and now with the addition of these 9 channels, the promise of widest range of HD channels continues.     In addition, to make HD more affordable and to get the most viewed HD channels at Rs.86 + taxes per month, DishTV has introduced HD Ala-carte (small HD entertainment add on packs) to capture the interest of consumers towards HD viewing by offering them more HD content and mix of genre at a nominal price of Rs.86+ taxes per month. This offering enables DishTV subscribers to select these ala-carte as per their preferences and needs. With this, DishTV made entry to HD very easy and simple with two-step process – select any base pack and add any of the HD ala-carte worth Rs.86 + taxes per month.

  • DishTV partners with ICICI for digital payments

    MUMBAI: DishTV has tied up with ICICI Bank by consolidated assets, to make payments and recharges easier. The association enables subscribers of the DTH platform to recharge their connections on any Unified Payment Interface (UPI) enabled app and through *99#, a National Unified USSD Platform (NUUP) in a hassle free and cashless manner.

    Dish TV India CEO Arun Kapoor said, “This is another customer oriented initiative in the DTH industry to recharge through UPI transactions. This alliance with ICICI Bank through UPI will drive higher customer adoption and allow them to be a part of the digital economy. This will also aid our vastly spread customers with or without internet access to recharge conveniently. The nation is becoming cashless, so are our DishTV subscribers.”

    With an aim to increase digital transactions, DishTV will be rolling out special offers for its customers. DishTV subscribers can benefit from 50 per cent cashback (up to Rs.100) on their first UPI merchant transaction from ICICI Bank’s iMobile or Pockets app.

    ICICI Bank senior general manager and head digital channels Abonty Banerjee added, “ICICI Bank has played a key role in conceptualizing the UPI initiative along with NPCI to bring in interoperability among banks for ease in payments. We are happy to be associated with Dish TV to launch a unique solution that enables customers to renew their subscriptions simply from ICICI Bank’s iMobile, Pockets and other UPI enabled apps like BHIM among others. I am confident that Dish TV consumers will widely use the solution.”

    A DishTV subscriber can make a payment to UPI ID which is specific for each subscriber in the format. Payments can also be made without using internet through NUUP. Customers have to just dial *99# from their mobile number registered with their respective bank accounts, select the option ‘send money’ and enter the UPI ID as the payment address for making the payment.

  • DishTV adds Discovery’s sports channel ‘DSports’

    MUMBAI: DishTV has added the newly launched sports channel ‘DSports’ from the house of Discovery Communications. With this addition, DishTV now offers a total of 13 sports channels in Standard Definition, the highest to be offered by any DTH service provide.

    The all new premium sports channel in India, ‘DSports’ aims to redefine sports engagement and provide viewers an unmatched ‘live’ sporting action from across the globe, through its dynamic coverage of sporting events.
