    Mumbai: Upon its OTT debut in January, the documentary “Secrets of the Buddha Relics” captivated audiences with its compelling storytelling and exploration of ancient mysteries. Following its premiere on the Discovery Channel, the documentary garnered widespread acclaim, ranking among the top five shows in the factual genre and establishing itself as one of the top-rated Indian originals on the channel. Its success extended to discovery+, where it claimed the number-one spot on the OTT platform, further solidifying its status as a must-watch production.

    Created by acclaimed writer/director Neeraj Pandey and produced by Shital Bhatia, with direction by Raghav Jairath and hosted by actor Manoj Bajpayee, the show delves into the final days of Gautam Buddha and explores the origins and current state of the relics which have intrigues generations. The documentary traces the origins, cultural and spiritual significance and the mystical stories behind how the relics came to be.     Mumbai: Discovery Channel, DTamil, and the streaming platform Discovery+ are preparing to fascinate audiences with a special airing of ‘Legends of the Ramayana with Amish.’ From 20 to 23 January, audiences can immerse themselves in one of the greatest epics of the world in the three-part docuseries hosted by famed novelist Amish Tripathi, renowned for penning down the Shiva Trilogy and the Ram Chandra Series.

    The docu-series traverses 5000 kilometers, delving deep into ancient stories around the Ramayana. Amish Tripathi decodes intriguing information that has persisted around the Ramayana for millennia, inspiring faith, philosophies, and lifestyles across India and beyond. Featuring stunning visuals, the docuseries unfolds the mystery around Lord Ram’s thrilling Ayana (journey).

    Mapping myth with geology, customs, and belief, Tripathi travels to key locations across India and Sri Lanka to piece the journey together, bringing history to life and showcasing the rich cultures, social diversities, and landscapes in each of the regions.

    Tune in to Discovery Channel, DTamil, and discovery+ as “Legends of the Ramayana with Amish” brings the ageless epic to life from 20 to 23 January.     Mumbai: An enthralling finale of ‘History Hunter’ awaits viewers as Maniesh Paul takes on his final quest of the current season, focusing on Nana Saheb Peshwa II, the forgotten hero of 1857. Having started as an ally of the British government, Nana Saheb soon developed remorse when he was refused pension and jagir (Inheritance of land) after the passing of his father Peshwa Bajirao II. The scenarios led him to act against the British in what would be known as the Kanpur massacre.

    Viewers will witness how Nana Saheb strategically lured the British into striking a deal, leading them to Satti Chaura ghat where he unleashed an attack upon them, killing more than 400 citizens. Theories suggest that Nana Saheb claimed that his initial plan was to help the British army but he was threatened with his life being taken by the rebels.      

    The episode will also showcase the escape planned by Nana Saheb Peshwa II while highlighting the importance of the Naulakha Haar of the Mughal dynasty and how it helped him enter Nepal. The British army never managed to capture Nana Saheb though they did discover treasures hidden by him that amounted to more than Rs 1400 crore in today’s day and age.

    Nana Saheb Peshwa II’s final days remain a mystery to date. Some experts claim that he died of malaria fever while others continued to report spotting him in regions including Mecca, the Middle East, and Russia, among other territories. The British eventually closed his file in 1896 due to a lack of evidence of him being alive.
