    CavinKare partners with Ability Foundation for CavinKare Ability Awards

    Mumbai: CavinKare, the FMCG conglomerate, is back with the 21st edition of the CavinKare Ability Awards, in collaboration with the Ability Foundation.

    The awards will honour the unwavering spirits of individuals with disabilities. The awards are presented to persons with disabilities to recognise their accomplishments in various sectors, in keeping with the organisation’s mission to provide basic necessities to people from all socioeconomic backgrounds.

    Nominations for the awards are open till 20 November 2022. Any citizen of India with a disability (as defined by the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016) who has performed an incredible job in his or her chosen field is eligible to apply. An individual can be nominated for only one category. The nominations go through a short-listing, interviewing, and site-visiting process before a panel of eminent jury members selects the recipients.

    The awards fall under two categories, namely, the CavinKare Ability Award for Eminence and the CavinKare Ability Mastery Awards, which are given to specially chosen achievers from all around the nation.

    The CavinKare Ability Award for Eminence is presented to one individual with a disability who has shown a commitment to others that goes beyond individual success. The award includes a memento, a citation, and a cash reward of 2 lakh rupees. The CavinKare Ability Mastery Awards are presented to three individuals who have not let their disabilities stand in the way of achieving brilliance in their chosen fields. This category of awards is presented to those people with disabilities who have demonstrated proficiency in the field of their choice, set high standards for themselves, and also realised their personal goals. The award includes a memento, a citation, and a cash reward of one lakh rupees for each recipient.

    Since its establishment in 2003, the CavinKare Ability Awards have recognised 85 achievers with disabilities who have broken through conventional barriers to pursue their dreams.

    The CavinKare Ability Awards are a highly sought-after acknowledgment for the disability sector nationwide because they highlight the extraordinary feats of individuals and accentuate their outstanding achievements.

    MUMBAI: B4U Network supports 4 causes around Health, Disability, Defence& Culture in the month of December 2018. B4U Network with its 2 channels B4u Music & B4u Movies has always influenced its strong base of over 168 million viewers in urban & rural hindi speaking markets with entertaining bollywood music and movies content. Banking of its high reach and influence among viewers the networks channels have taken up four causes with the intent of spreading awareness, sensitizing, supporting and bringing change in the society at large through the medium of television starting from 1st December through this entire month.

    Causes around four diverse topics have been taken up in the same month directing viewer’s attention to different issues and causes around the below days:

    1st December, 2018 – World Aids Day

    B4U Music & Movies have launched promos on high frequency raising awareness for the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection, with focus on “SAFE SEX” through a series of quirky promos which are suggestive to use of condoms for the prevention of AIDS. With B4U’s reach, popularity and ardent fan following amongst the youth audience these promotions would drive awareness and reinforce the message of safe sex for all genders across India.

    3rd December, 2018 – International Day of Disabled Persons

    The observance of the Day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.

    To get this message across the promo’s give tribute to disabled musical instrument players with intercuts of his remarkable journey of learning the musical instrument despite his disability. This is followed by the message: “B4U salutes the indomitable human spirit”.

    4th December, 2018 – Navy Day

    Supporting India’s defense forces and saluting them for their dedication in protecting the water bodies, Navy day would be celebrated on 4 December to celebrate the achievements and role of the naval force to the country and to give respect to our naval force.

    B4U would will create interesting promotional trivia about Indian Navy and Navy Day. The slate will have images of Indian navy warships, submarines, navy officers at duty, the Navy and national emblem etc.

    11th December, 2018 – International Mountains Day

    Celebrated to encourage the international community to organize events at all levels to highlight the importance of sustainable mountain development. Using graphic vignettes 45-60 seconds B4U would talk about different Bollywood movies and songs which have used mountains as a picturesque backdrop in their narrative which would help in promoting the importance of sustainable development through this entertaining medium. Interesting anecdotes from the shooting of the films and songs will also be shared in these vignettes

    to build alliances that will bring positive change to mountain peoples and environments around the world.

    The communication campaign & promos are scripted, directed and produced by B4U’s internal creative team. The promos are designed to be smart, quirky and minimalistic so that they break clutter at the same time trigger change in society during the last month of the year.

  • Govt invites entries for short film competition on ‘disability’

    NEW DELHI: Entries have been invited by the government for a ‘Short Film Competition on Divyangjan Sashaktikaran-2017’ on issues relating to disability;

    The competitive festival is being organized by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) (DEPwD) of the Social Justice & Empowerment Ministry in association with the Directorate of Film Festivals (DFF).

    The competition is being organised in order to create awareness on Accessible India Campaign and to promote various schemes of DEPwD among common masses. The Department invites entries from common citizens. The participants may submit their entries shot with any electronic devices in HD format only.    

    The last date of submission of application is 8 August 2017. The  applications are invited in three categories viz ‘Short Documentaries’ of  up to  30 minutes duration, ‘Short Films’ of upto 5 minutes duration and ‘TV Spots’ (Television Commercials) of up to 50 seconds.

    The award function will be held tentatively on 21 September 2017 at Siri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi.

    The ‘Short Documentaries’ and ‘TV Spots’ should be based on Accessible India Campaign theme while ‘Short Films’  could be made on various schemes of DEPwD such as  Fellowship and Scholarship; Beneficiaries of Cochlear Implant, Distribution of Assistive Devices and Tri-cycle under Assistance to Disabled Persons for Purchase / Fitting of Aids and Appliances (ADIP Scheme); loan beneficiaries of National Handicapped Finance And Development Corporation (NHFDC); beneficiaries of Accessible Buildings under Scheme for Implementation of Persons with Disabilities Act (SIPDA); beneficiaries of NGOs taking grant –in-aid under Deendayal Disabled Rehabilitation Scheme (DDRS) and various skill development initiatives of the DEPwD for Persons with Disabilities.

    The ‘Short Film Competition on Divyangjan Sashaktikaran-2017’ will carry  First and Second Prize of Rs 5,00,000  and Rs 3,00,000 respectively in ‘Short Documentary’ and ‘TV Spots’  categories while ‘Short Film’ category  will carry only one prize of Rs 4,00,000 for each scheme.
