Dilip is an accomplished professional, with many industry benchmark setting initiatives to his credit. In 2011 Dilipwon the prestigious “News CEO of the Year Award” at the “Exchange4media News Broadcast Awards”. He is a Graduate in Public Administration, and has completed his management Program from IIM Bangalore, and the Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School, Boston.

    Savvy Dilip till recently was the Group CMO of the ITVNetwork, (India News, NewsX & Sunday Guardian), where she developed and launched the network identity. Prior to that she worked at Network18 as the VP – Marketing for CNN-IBN & IBN7. She has vast experience in product management, brand management, and brand building across media including digital media, strategic alliances, programming planning, events & experiential marketing, sales enablement and public relations.     MUMBAI: iTV Network has announced yet another appointment in the leadership team by getting onboard Dilip Venkatraman as its group chief operating officer, strategy and business development.

     

    As part of his new mandate he will be responsible for planning strategic solutions and business development for the network. He will be reporting to iTV Network managing director Kartikeya Sharma.

     

    Welcoming Venkatraman on board, Sharma said, “I am delighted to welcome Dilip on board as the new group COO. His strong track record of delivering growth and understanding of the industry, brands and advertisers will be a great asset for us as he joins us at this juncture of aggressive growth.”

    Dilip Venkatraman bids adieu to TV18, to pursue entrepreneurial interests

    MUMBAI: CNN-IBN and IBN7 CEO N. Dilip Venkatraman has decided to move on from his role in order to pursue his entrepreneurial interests. During his eight year stint, Venkatraman managed a variety of mandates on the general news side of the group. Prior to his current role, he led marketing operations for CNN-IBN, IBN7 and IBN-Lokmat and also managed IBN Focus, the customised media solutions unit for these news channels.

     

    Apart from his leadership role in building CNN-IBN into one of the country’s most reputed news brands, Venkatraman is well-known for conceptualising benchmark properties at the IBN News Network. Network18 COO Ajay Chacko will oversee the operations of the IBN News Network in the interim.

     

    Speaking on this development, Network18 group CEO B. Sai Kumar said “Dilip has played a pivotal role in building our general news network, right from the outset.     MUMBAI: IBN7, the Hindi news channel of Network18 is now ‘Bebaq. Bekhauf‘. The channels‘ new slogan which went on air today, replaces its previous slogan ‘Khabar har keemat par‘, which had defined the channel for nearly seven years. The channel has also perked up its logo and altered its colour as well as the font. The changes have been made to keep pace with the changing times.

    IBN7 CEO Dilip Venkatraman said, “The channel has been fearless in its reporting. The new slogan has a sharper focus which is clear in stating what it wants to offer to its viewers. The logo has been designed keeping in mind different screens with the rise of convergence of media. The new font, which has been designed especially for IBN7 will be used across the channel and is also designed to appear outstanding on the digital platform.”

    Speaking to www.indiantelevision.com CNN-IBN, IBN7 and IBN-Lokmat Editor-in-Chief Rajdeep Sardesai said, “The rebranding of IBN7 is to re-emphasise its core values as a Hindi news channel committed to fearless and independent journalism and qualities which have given IBN 7 a distinctive appeal in the Hindi news universe.     The campaign titled ‘Nidar. Atal. Prachanda. Satya.‘ is only being done for IBN7 and not for the remaining channels of Network18. The move is aimed to reiterate the channel‘s vision and philosophy and convey its message in a firm manner.”

    MUMBAI: Network18 has promoted N Dilip Venkatraman to a newly created post of CEO, CNN-IBN. He will lead Network18‘s English news channel with immediate effect.

    In his new role, Venkatraman will be responsible for the strategic, financial and operational management of the channel.

    Network18 is going through a restructuring phase as it is preparing for its next phase of growth. The company had recently elevated Anil Uniyal to the newly created post of CEO – CNBC-TV18 and CNBC Awaaz. It had also moved Ajay Chacko, who was playing a critical role in looking after CNBC-TV18, CNBC Awaaz and Forbes India, to its new joint venture company, AETN18, as its president.  
         
      Earlier in his role as chief marketing officer of CNN-IBN, IBN7 and IBN-Lokmat, Venkatraman was leading marketing operations for all existing and upcoming IBN channels and managing IBN Focus, the alternative media solutions unit for the channels, as COO.

  • IBN7 to launch ‘Gujarat Chunav – Satta Nau Sangharsha’

    MUMBAI: IBN7 has tied up with Divya Bhaskar for a show ‘Gujarat Chunav – Satta Nau Sangharsha’ on Gujarat assembly elections. The month-long show, kicking off on 14 November, starts with findings of an opinion poll conducted by Centre for Study of Developing Societies (CSDS).

    As a part of the show, interactive live debate sessions, ‘Kyun Chune Aapko?’ will be conducted on a daily basis in 15 different towns and cities across Gujarat and aired on 5:30 pm election special shows. Featuring various party leaders and prominent authorities, the discussions will take up issues pertinent to the state.

    From 26 November to 13 December extensive programming run of half-hour shows daily will provide a comprehensive step-by-step account of the entire election process from the pre-polling phase, the actual ballot casting to the post-poll results.

    As a special segment in the 8:30 pm series, ‘5 Saal 5 Reporter’, five IBN 7 reporters will revisit the worst riot affected areas of Gujarat.

    The exit poll surveys will be conducted throughout Gujarat on the day the state goes to vote. IBN 7 will telecast special half-hour shows from 11 to 16 December at 8 pm to track and project the nature of voting in the state and the likely winner.

    On 23 December IBN 7 will have a one-hour special show in the evening. It will discuss and analyse the election results and the implications for the state and nation.

  • IBN 7 media partner for Filmy’s ‘Bollywood Ka Boss’

    MUMBAI: Filmy has roped in IBN 7 as media partner for their new reality quiz, Bollywood ka Boss. Slated to kick off in January 2008, the quiz show will attempt to find the supreme Hindi film buff that will walk away with prize money of Rs 5 million.

    Created by Siddhartha Basu’s Synergy Adlabs, Bollywood Ka Boss will be hosted by Boman Irani.
    Through this partnership, IBN 7 will present the property through frequent programming highlights till the Grande Finale. There will be regular segments on IBN 7’s film-based programme – Premiere 7 focusing on the show, the participants, the host and sneak-peeks of what to expect in the coming weeks.

  • CNN-IBN joins hands with The Telegraph to present ‘Lal Salaam at 30’

    MUMBAI: CNN-IBN has joined hands with The Telegraph to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Left Front rule in West Bengal through a number of special stories Lal Salaam at 30, an opinion poll and a panel discussion on the various facets and developments that have taken place under the Left Front rule since 1977.

    CNN-IBN and The Telegraph alliance will entail exercising the editorial and marketing synergies between the organisations. The publication will carry regular stories reflecting the mood of the people as revealed through the opinion poll and special debate conducted by CNN-IBN.

    As part of the celebration, the channel will air a one-hour special panel discussion and opinion poll results on the Left front governance on 21 June at 9:30 pm.

    The opinion poll and special debate being conducted as a part of the series are aimed at providing an analysis of the state’s Left Front administration. The panel discussion, held in Kolkata will reveal the findings of the opinion poll conducted by AC Nielsen on various aspects of the Left Front regime in West Bengal that has persisted, for the last three decades.

    The poll attempts to answer questions relating to the state government’s performance.

    MUMBAI: CNN-IBN and The Indian Express and the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS) have joined hands to cover state elections in Uttar Pradesh. Special month-long programming titled ‘Battle for U.P’ on CNN-IBN will include live debates amongst various party leaders and prominent authorities; exit poll projections after each phase of polling and post-poll surveys – providing a holistic account of the electoral activities taking place in various parts of the state.

    An editorial and marketing collaboration between the two news houses The Indian Express and CNN-IBN promises to provide the readers and viewers with the most up-to-date, comprehensive and precise news on all aspects of the election – from pre-polling, the actual ballot casting to post-poll results and developments, informs an official release.

    The scope of the partnership entails The Indian Express featuring tune-in advertisements on the ‘Battle for U.P.’ programming along with regular extensive poll coverage on the days after it is aired on CNN-IBN.

    In addition to daily news wheel stories the channel will also air a series of programmes dedicated solely to the elections. Some of them will include –

    *A half hour special debate show from Lucknow on – whether the state’s capital is being left out from the rest of the country when it comes to economic and social growth – featuring some of the city’s most recognisable faces. The show will air on CNN-IBN on 27 April at 8:30 pm

  • IBN 7 ties up with Canon India for ‘News Superstar’ contest

    NEW DELHI: IBN 7 has entered into a strategic alliance with Canon India to bring to its viewers a month long contest – ‘IBN 7 News Superstar,‘ that will give them an opportunity to win Canon digital cameras and camcorders daily.

    To participate in the contest, viewers need to watch IBN 7 from Monday – Saturday between 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm and answer questions pertaining to the day‘s top news stories.
     
    The contest will comprise four multiple-choice questions asked at different intervals during the same time band. Four lucky winners (who answers any one question right) and one mega winner (who answers all four questions correctly) of the day will be announced at the end of Big News at 10:30 pm on IBN 7. The winners will in turn be featured in a telephonic interview on the breakfast news the following day, informs an official release.
