  • Swiggy’s latest campaign helps Santa Claus find new job this Christmas

Swiggy’s latest campaign helps Santa Claus find new job this Christmas

Mumbai: What if Santa Claus took a break from deliveries and decided to search for a new gig this Christmas- Who would take over gift deliveries in his absence? In an apparent answer to this question, Swiggy Genie has come up with a quirky creative called the #SantaOpenToWork campaign. The timely campaign, conceptualised by Dentsu Webchutney, hilariously depicts Santa delegating all his gift deliveries to Swiggy Genie.

At the heart of the campaign is a ’video resume’ by the Father Christmas himself, explaining his decision to move on, and rallying recruiters to hire him. To make things real, the video is accompanied by an actual LinkedIn profile which states Santa’s achievements with fun posts aimed at potential recruiters.

The campaign aims to showcase how gift-givers can outsource all their delivery tasks to Swiggy Genie this Holiday season, just the way Santa is. So, while Santa is #OpenToWork, Swiggy Genie is #OpenToDeliveries. The short film is directed by Tom Koshy and produced by Raj Banerjee.

“Our starting point was quite simple: if Swiggy Genie is taking over deliveries, what will Santa Claus do? But we knew we had a winner when we thought of crafting the entire campaign around the #OpenToWork feature, which has become an instantly recognisable mnemonic. I hope people have as much fun watching the campaign as we had creating it,” said dentsu Webchutney creative director Sanket Audhi.

To create more buzz around the campaign, digital ads across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Wynk and Inshorts lead people to Santa’s video resume. Swiggy has also used their Genie/Instamart channels to drop unbranded flyers and business cards from Santa, with a special QR Code leading people to the video, said the statement.

Swiggy director of marketing Sneha John said, “We wanted to remind Swiggy users and non-users alike that they can depend on Swiggy Genie to take care of gift deliveries and other chores this Christmas season. The #SantaOpenToWork campaign does just that, with some Christmas cheer and smart humour.”

  • This wedding season, Tanishq initiates new conversation with #MarriageConversations

This wedding season, Tanishq initiates new conversation with #MarriageConversations

Mumbai: It is that time of the year when the wedding season plays out all over India. And amidst all the celebrations & planning around a ‘big, fat Indian wedding,’ an aspect that often plays second fiddle is the ‘marriage’ or the issues that truly matter in a marriage. Thus, to try and rescript India’s wedding narrative, Tanishq has launched its latest campaign – #MarriageConversations.

Conceptualised and executed by Dentsu Webchutney, the digital creative agency from the house of dentsu India, the campaign aims to encourage couples to have conversations about the marriage and the life they want to build together, as much as the wedding itself.

“This wedding season, we want to encourage young couples who are taking the next big step of their lives to pause and talk about the marriage they envision with each other; a conversation where they feel the comfort and honesty with their partners to discuss what truly matters to them,” said Tanishq general manager marketing Ranjani Krishnaswamy about the campaign. “Tanishq wants to celebrate these real conversations that lead up to the moment ‘when it rings true’ for our couples and etch these moments with our engagement rings.”

The film, crafted by Superfly Films Pvt Ltd, shows three regular couples who are about to take the plunge indulging in meaningful conversation about their future life together, before taking the big step.

“Our mission at Superfly has always been to use the power of storytelling to build a more progressive society. And we are happy to have had the opportunity to inspire a whole generation of soon-to-be couples across India to talk about their realities beyond the wedding,” stated Superfly Films Pvt Ltd director and founder Kopal Naithani.

“We are proud of the brand for inspiring and encouraging soon-to-be-married couples to get raw and real and build a strong foundation together, as they inevitably set on a rollercoaster of a journey that is life,” said Dentsu Webchutney creative director Binaifer Dulani. “We hope couples across India will feel empowered to be vulnerable with each other and talk about their future before they take the big step.”

  • Sidharth Rao to take direct charge of dentsu Webchutney from Jan 2022

Sidharth Rao to take direct charge of dentsu Webchutney from Jan 2022

Mumbai: Dentsu Webchutney on Wednesday announced that CEO Gautam Reghunath and COO PG Aditiya will be leaving their positions early next year to set up their own venture. With this change, the agency will now be back under the direct charge of dentsuMB Group CEO Sidharth Rao. Rao, founder of dentsu Webchutney, will front the agency’s leadership team, even as Reghunath and PG Aditiya will continue to work with him through this period to ensure a smooth transition for the creative agency.

“Gautam & PG have been the two most defining hires in our history. As a founder, you want your people to find their calling at the company you build, and the legacy the two of them leave behind is the best possible example of this,” said Sidharth Rao. “From joining at entry-level positions in 2010 and 2012 respectively, and rising to the very top through hard work, passion and just simply being the best in the business at their jobs. It’s a story that makes me believe that we’ve created an organisation where anyone can shine. And now, they have a chance to do it for themselves as creative entrepreneurs.”

“There is a lot that we at dentsu Webchutney owe them but none more so than the culture they’ve created for us all to thrive in. They’ve also assembled an outstanding leadership group, an army of superstars across all levels, all of whom give me and the rest of dentsu’s management immense confidence in how we will march forward as a company,” Rao further said.

In a joint statement, Reghunath and PG Aditiya said, “There is no other agency or network in the country where we would have had the chance to build our careers as we have at dentsu and at Webchutney. We’ve spent nearly 90 per cent of our careers here, so moving on is not a decision we’re taking lightly. Our personal views of what success, failure, and everything else in-between look like have been shaped at Webchutney and the people that we’ve had the privilege of working with & leading here. We’re so proud and thankful for how it’s all panned out.”

“As for the future, we’re more excited than ever about this wonderful business and have a few ideas germinating in our heads—ones that we get to build out. But for now, we’ve got a few more months left in this dream job, and we’re just going to try and maximize every minute of it. There are so many exciting new pieces of work launching over the next few months, some of them possibly the best work we’ve ever had the chance to be a part of. The best years of Webchutney are ahead of it and we’ll be cheering from the very front,” they added.
