    Sunil Lulla joins dentsu as consultant advisor for India

    Mumbai: dentsu on Thursday announced the appointment of industry veteran Sunil Lulla as consultant advisor for India, effective 4 April. He will work with the business until dentsu India hires a permanent CEO.

    “Lulla will report to dentsu India Interim CEO Peter Huijboom to focus on driving business growth and activation in the market. The company continues its search for the right candidate to lead the dentsu India business,” said the statement.

    Lulla previously served as Balaji Telefilms Group CEO and Broadcast Audience Research Council (Barc) India CEO.

    “Sunil is joining us at a critical time as we realise the benefits of our transformation through our integrated offering. He has had an impressive career with significant achievements in the businesses he has worked with, and I am looking forward to our partnership,” commented Peter Huijboom. “We see significant opportunity in the India market and I am pleased with the momentum we are seeing.     Aalap Desai elevated to lead Taproot dentsu & isobar India as CCO

    Mumbai: dentsu India has appointed Aalap Desai to the role of chief creative officer (CCO), Taproot dentsu, a dentsuMB Company. The erstwhile isobar India national creative director (NCD), Desai has also been promoted to the role of CCO for the agency. In both roles, he will report to dentsu Creative India group chief creative officer (GCCO) Ajay Gahlaut, announced the agency on Tuesday.

    “In addition to leading isobar India’s creative team, Desai will now also be responsible for Taproot dentsu’s transformation into becoming a nex-gen, digital-first agency,” said the statement.

    Meanwhile, Titus Upputuru, earlier creative head, has now been elevated to the role of Taproot dentsu NCD, Gurgaon. He will lead the agency’s Gurgaon creative team and will report to Aalap Desai. Upputuru has also been entrusted with the additional charge of leading integrated solutions for dentsu Creative India. In this role, he will report to Ajay Gahlaut.

    In addition to this, he also co-headed the creative team at dentsu Webchutney, Mumbai and was behind some of the most notable works like Code Name: Uri, The 8-bit Journo for Vice and The World’s Most Reported trailer for “Thappad.” Apart from this, Desai was also a part of the creative teams at Disney+ Hotstar, Leo Burnett, JWT, DDB Mudra, Ogilvy, and Publicis Ambience. He has helped build brands like McDonald’s, Complan, Huggies, Nerolac, Videocon d2h, and some youth-centric ones like Early Salary and MTV India.

    WATConsult bags ORM & digital listening mandate for Licious

    Mumbai: WATConsult, an Isobar company and hybrid digital agency from dentsu India, has won the ORM (Online Reputation Management) and digital listening mandate for D2C unicorn Licious. 

    The account was won following a competitive multi-agency pitch and will be serviced from the agency’s Mumbai office.

    “The meat and seafood sector, in India, is still largely in its nascent stage; however, it holds vast potential.     WATConsult celebrates 15 years of inception with NFT

    Mumbai: WATConsult, an Isobar company and hybrid digital agency from dentsu India has completed 15 years of its inception this month. To commemorate the milestone, WATConsult has created a digital artwork in the form of NFT (non-fungible token). Titled ‘Once a WATizen, always a WATizen,’ it consists of 1500+ names including existing employees as well as the alumni of the agency.

    The objective behind launching this asset is to express gratitude and evoke pride among those who are and have been instrumental in the success of the agency by leveraging a contemporary twist. WATConsult is the first agency in India that has created and launched an NFT of its own, the agency said in a statement. 

    “15 years is no small feat. We look back on our journey very fondly and we feel so proud to be celebrating this milestone,” said Isobar India group CEO Heeru Dingra. “I would like to take this opportunity to thank our people, even those who no longer work with us, for the positive mark they have left behind.     Mumbai: Dentsu India has appointed Ramsai Suriyanarayanan as managing partner- trading, media. In his new role, Suriyanarayanan will lead media investments for Reckitt and play an integral role in developing dentsu Media’s investment model and portfolio, said the company.

    dentsu X recognised as Indian agency with ‘highest quali-points growth over 3 years’: RECMA

    Mumbai: RECMA, the independent research firm that evaluates media agencies, has recognised dentsu X, the media agency from the house of dentsu India, as the Indian agency with the highest quali-points growth over three years.

    The report, RECMA Debrief number 37, evaluates the media agencies from 47 countries across nineteen criteria. For the record, out of the total number of 700 agencies, 27 have shown spectacular growth over three years with at least ten qualitative points.

    “Dentsu has embraced the future by providing integrated idea-led, data-driven, tech-enabled solutions that offer our clients a competitive advantage in an ever-changing environment. Our body of work, our client partnerships is the bedrock for our trajectory and validates that we are on the right path,” dentsu Media South Asia chief executive officer Divya Karani said.
