  • Dentsu Communications appoints Vedobroto Roy & Deepak Singh as ECDs

    Mumbai: Dentsu Communications has appointed Vedobroto Roy and Deepak Singh as ECDs and creative heads.

    Both Roy and Singh will be based in Mumbai.

    Roy joins Dentsu from Leo Burnett while Singh has moved from DDB Mudra, Mumbai.

    Dentsu Communications CEO Arijit Ray said, “I am really glad to have Vedobroto and Deepak on board. Both Deepak and Ved bring to the table the perfect combination of talent and the right attitude to provide leadership and transform the creative product and culture to the next level.     Roy said, “In their search for next level of creative leadership at Mumbai, Dentsu somehow found me suitable for the role. My focus along with my partner in crime, Deepak Singh, would be on helping the organisation achieve their new creative mandates while nurturing the relationship with the existing clients and developing their business objectives as creatively as possible.”

    Roy started his career at Ogilvy Mumbai, joined JWT Delhi later and then went to Cheil Communications, Delhi. He then joined Leo-Burnett, Dhaka. For the past 12-13 years, he has worked on brands that include Pepsi and Samsung, across agencies and geographies. Apart from working on Brand Pepsi, his team headed by him re-launched 7 UP and Tropicana.

    Singh has worked with clients like Philips, Electrolux, Emirates, World Wide Media Group when he was with DDB Mudra. Before DDB Mudra, he had worked with Leo Burnett, Grey and McCann, working on brands like Vimal, Suzlon, Parle, Kinetic and Bajaj.

  • Dentsu bags creative & media mandate of Orangina

    MUMBAI: Dentsu Communications and Dentsu Media have won the creative and media duties of beverage brand Orangina.

    The responsibility of the agencies will be to handle the communications, media planning and buying of the soon-to-be launched company in India.

    The beverage will be manufactured and marketed in India by Suntory Narang, a joint venture between Suntory Group and Narang Group.

    Suntory Narang COO Avik Sanyal said, “We are very excited and confident for a successful launch of Orangina. Partnering with Dentsu will propel our communication and media strategy to build a strong brand equity.”

  • Dentsu Communications launches Kochi operations

    Mumbai: Dentsu India Group‘s full service independent communications agency Dentsu Communications has commenced operations in Kochi aiming at strengthening its southern India network.

    Dentsu Communications CEO Arijit Ray, Dentsu Communications national planning head Suresh Mohan Kumar and Dentsu Communications Regional ECD (South) Ashwin Prathiban will drive this new initiative.

    Dentsu India Group executive chairman Rohit Ohri said, “Our commencement of operations in Kochi is part of our larger strategic plan of accelerated growth in India. We‘re now fully equipped to offer integrated communication services to all our clients in the Southern India.”

  • Dentsu Communications wins TVS’ creative biz

    MUMBAI: TVS Motor Company has appointed Dentsu Communications to handle creative duties of its WEGO brand of scooters.

    Dentsu will work on various campaigns for WEGO and will be responsible for the account‘s campaign planning and creative executions across television and print mediums.

    TVS Motor Company president marketing H S Goindi said, “I must thank the earlier agency BBH for the award winning creative work in creating a differentiated position for WEGO. Equally, I eagerly look forward to a very fruitful and long term association with Dentsu Communication. We are confident that the team at Dentsu Communication with its deep experience and understanding of automobile brands will make their presence felt on WEGO future campaigns.”

    WEGO is TVS Motor Company‘s 110 CC metal body scooter with Body Balance Technology. It is designed for the urban couple, the company said.

  • Rajesh Mathew joins Dentsu Communications as SVP

    MUMBAI: Continuing with the series of senior-level appointments the Dentsu India Group has appointed Rajesh Mathew as senior vice president, Dentsu Communications Mumbai.

    Mathew has an experience spanning over 17 years in advertising and his previous stint was as managing partner at Doosra Brand Communications, Mumbai (Part of the Aegis Media Worldwide network, since December 2011).

His first job was with MAA Bozell in Bangalore and later he went on to work with some of the multinational network advertising like Saatchi & Saatchi Direct (Bangalore), Ogilvy & Mather (Bangalore), Lowe Lintas Worldwide (Chennai – as brand services director), Rediffusion DYR and Wunderman (Chennai – as GM for both the Agencies), Contract Advertising (Chennai – as senior vice president and manager) and Ogilvy & Mather (Mumbai – as vice president and business head).

  • Acer awards creative duties to BBH India

    MUMBAI: Computer manufacturer Acer has chosen BBH India to handle the brand‘s creative duties.

    Dentsu Communications was handling the account since 2007.Madison continues to be the media agency of record for Acer.

    Acer has also got on board Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan as brand ambassador in 2009.

    BBH India was recently in the news for its campaign titled Tanjore for Google Chrome. The campaign also got shortlisted in the Film Craft Lions category.

  • Arijit Ray moves to Dentsu Communications as CEO

    MUMBAI: The Dentsu India Group has appointed Arijit Ray as CEO of Dentsu Communications. Ray‘s mandate will be to enhance and reinforce the agency‘s competencies and output including overall creative, strategy and services along with strengthening media synergies and driving growth.

    Ray comes in from the DDBMudra Group where he was president DDBMudra West.

    Dentsu Communications hires Suresh Mohankumar as national planning head

    MUMBAI: Dentsu India Group has appointed Suresh Mohankumar as national planning head at Dentsu Communications.

    Mohankumar will lead strategic planning and brand management at Dentsu Communications across its offices in New Delhi and Bangalore and will be based out of Bangalore. With nearly two decades of experience, he joins Dentsu from Mudra India where he was senior vice president and head of planning – Mudra South.

    Dentsu India executive chairman Rohit Ohri said, “Suresh has the right combination of passion, talent and commitment to partner our creative and account management teams to take our creative product to the next level.”

    A commerce graduate, Mohankumar completed his MBA with a dual specialisation in marketing and finance from T.A. Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) in 1993. He started his career in account management with RK Swamy/BBDO in Chennai. Over the next seven years, he worked with Contract and Lowe in Bangalore. He switched to account planning in 2000 when he moved to Mudra Chennai. As a strategic planner, he then worked with Contract and JWT in Chennai.

    He has in the past been associated with brands like Tanishq, BPL, Ford, Volkswagen, Carbon, MRF, Lotte, TI cycles, Henkel, Fa, Reynolds, McDowell’s, Johnson & Johnson and Lipton.

    Dentsu bags creative duties of Top Ramen Noodles

    MUMBAI: Dentsu Communications, Bangalore, has bagged the creative duties of Top Ramen Noodles. 

    A Dentsu spokesperson confirmed the news to Indiantelevision.com. The financial details of the deal, however, were not disclosed.

    Hakuhodo Percept is the incumbent agency. 

    Recently, Dentsu India had won the creative mandates for Educomp‘s ‘Smartclass‘ and Maruti‘s Kizashi.
