    Sreekumar Balasubramanian joins Publicis Capital as senior VP

    MUMBAI: Sreekumar Balasubramania, who has 19 years of experience in global marketing communications companies, has been appointed as Publicis Capital senior vice president.

     

    Balasubramanian will report in to the Publicis Capital CEO Hemant Misra.

     

    Misra said, “It’s great to have Sree in our team. His mandate will be to focus on maintaining our high standards on existing businesses as well as on new business development.”

     

    Before joining Publicis, Balasubramanian worked with W+K as Head Account Management. He also worked with other eminent agencies including Leo Burnett, Lowe, Rediffusion, Dentsu Communication among others.

     

    On his appointment Balasubramanian said, “It is always important for people to get out of their comfort zones and face new challenges and Publicis has provided me that opportunity.”

     

    “I see exceptional potential for leveraging their credentials on existing business and for growth. I look forward to being a part of this endowed team,” he added.

     

    Balasubramanian has worked on categories like food and beverages, automotive, telecom, retail and services including brands like Thums Up, Maaza, Minute Maid, Coke Studio, Eristoff vodka, AirTel, Telenor Pakistan, Matrix Cellular, Toyota Kirloskar Motors, Audi India etc.

    Simi Sabhaney joins Dentsu Communications as Chief Executive Officer

    MUMBAI: Dentsu India Group today announced the appointment of Simi Sabhaney as the new Chief Executive Officer of Dentsu Communications. Arijit Ray to lead New Business Development at Dentsu India Group.

    Simi, former President (Bangalore and Chennai) at Ogilvy India, is an advertising veteran with more than 24 years of rich experience.

    Before joining Dentsu India Group, Simi was with Ogilvy, where she was President – Bangalore and Chennai. Simi has spent over 23 years at Ogilvy and has worked on diverse categories like lifestyle, FMCG, services, social sector as well as realty and on several accounts including Unilever’s F&B brands, Cadbury, Titan, Madura Garments, ITC Foods, SABMiller, The Hindu and many more. Her journey in O&M has taken her from Account Executive to President. While she was primarily based out of Ogilvy’s Bengaluru office, Simi also spent around four years in Ogilvy’s Mumbai office, where she worked on Unilever and Cadbury.

    A psychology graduate from Punjab University, Simi completed her post graduation in Mass Communication from Centre for Mass Media, Delhi. She will be based out of Dentsu Communications, Bangalore office and her mandate is to spearhead and strengthen the team and take DCPL to new heights of success.
    Welcoming Simi into the Dentsu India Group, Rohit Ohri, Executive Chairman of the Dentsu India Group, said, “It’s been great going for us at Dentsu Communications.     Speaking on her appointment as the new CEO of Dentsu Communications, Simi said, “Half an hour into my meeting with Rohit and I had made up my mind.     Arijit Ray, Chief Executive Officer of Dentsu Communications will move to the Dentsu India Group to lead the group’s new business initiatives. He will be working closely with Rohit Ohri, Executive Chairman, Dentsu India Group to plan and implement new business development strategies for the group.
    Dentsu Communications under Arijit’s leadership saw impressive growth. The agency won multiple businesses, expanded into new geographies and infused top notch talent across various locations.

     

    Commenting on Arijit’s move to the Dentsu India Group, Rohit Ohri said, “Arijit has been a great partner to me in Dentsu’s new exciting journey in India. I now wish to leverage his strengths in new business development for the entire group. I wish him all the luck in his new role. ”

  • Citizen Dentsu consolidates under Dentsu Communication

    MUMBAI: Dentsu India has announced that its social communication division Citizen Dentsu will be consolidated under Dentsu Communication.

    Launched in April 2009, Citizen Dentsu aims at government and semi-government clients, as well as creating corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes for its corporate customers.

    The media communication conglomerate aims to build Citizen Dentsu as a ‘Centre of Knowledge’ with specialised skill sets and strategic capabilities that would address the specific sector requirements and focus on building currency for causes, and thereby deliver value-added communication solutions for social clients.

    The agency has also got Rajendra Singh on board as senior vice president.

    Dentsu India Group EC Rohit Ohri said, “Our investment is going to be on ‘innovations’, so as to create currency for social issues. I’m delighted to have Rajendra Singh on board to lead this new initiative.”

    Dentsu Communications CEO Arijit Ray added, “Our endeavour has been to put together a team with the right mix of cross-category and cultural learning and passion for social marketing.     Singh’s last tenure was with JWT, where he worked for 10 years. Apart from a set of mainstream clients, Singh has headed JWT’s social communications division called Thompson Social for five years. He has worked on a multitude of social programmes, from issues like HIV/Aids, Polio, child health and safe motherhood, health and hygiene to causes such as environment, education, food safety and drug usage for clients like UNICEF, World Bank and Nike Foundation.
