    Dentsu acquires 20% stake in Singapore creative agency Mangham Gaxiola

    MUMBAI: Dentsu Aegis Network has acquired a 20 per cent share in Singapore based creative agency Mangham Gaxiola in order to expand the mcgarrybowen brand into Singapore. 

     

    The principal shareholders have also agreed to options that would make the agency a wholly owned Dentsu Aegis Network subsidiary in the future. 

     

    Founded in 2012, Mangham Gaxiola was last year voted Singapore’s most desirable independent creative agency in Marketing Magazine’s annual survey of over 1,000 marketers. The agency is known for premium quality creative work that spans the financial, automotive, fashion, electronics, beauty and FMCG sectors. The range of services provided include creative advertising campaigns in mass media, digital media and social media; creative content applications to increase consumer engagement with websites, which are marketing tools in themselves; and designs for the building of brand identities for stores. 

     

    Reasons behind the acquisition of a share in the agency include the growing importance of Southeast Asia as a market, and the increasing tendency of Dentsu Group clients to position Singapore as a regional hub. 

     

    mcgarrybowen, one of the Group’s eight network brands, has already established a presence as a leading creative agency in South America, Europe and China, and the new hub in Singapore will further develop its network across Southeast Asia. 

     

    Mangham Gaxiola will become part of the mcgarrybowen network and will operate under the name manghamgaxiola mcgarrybowen – A Dentsu Aegis Network Company. Leveraging the global human resources and services of the Dentsu Group, the agency will continue to provide innovative, high-quality services to its clients.

    MUMBAI: In a turn of events, S.Yesudas has stepped down from his position of Vizeum India managing director. Stepping into his shoes is industry veteran Shripad Kulkarni, who will be reporting to Dentsu Aegis Network south Asia chairman and CEO Ashish Bhasin. Not just this, Kulkarni will also join the Dentsu Aegis Network India executive council.

     

    Meanwhile, Yesudas will now focus on content and analytics, while continuing to report to Bhasin.

    MUMBAI: Dentsu Aegis Network has promoted Suresh Mohankumar as Dentsu Communications president planning, with the aim of adding impetus to the planning acumen of the organisation.

     

    In his new role, Mohankumar will chair the planning council of DBA India. He will also build and lead Dentsu Webchutney’s planning capabilities in the South.

    Mohankumar started his career in account management with RK Swamy/BBDO in Chennai. Over the next seven years he worked with Contract and Lowe in Bangalore. He switched to account planning in 2000 when he moved to Mudra Chennai. As a strategic planner, he then worked with Contract and JWT in Chennai.

     

    “I am really excited about this new assignment; it is a great opportunity to bring alive Dentsu’s vision of ‘Borderless Engagement’ with every project that we work on,” said Mohankumar.

    Dentsu expands India executive council post Ohri’s relocation

    MUMBAI: With an aim to drive the group’s business in India, Dentsu Aegis Network has expanded its executive council in the country. The move comes post the recent relocation of Rohit Ohri to Singapore.

     

    The council consists of leaders of all the Network companies and heads of key functions. This will give the network in India an opportunity to offer specialist services to their clients under one umbrella.

     

    Chaired by Dentsu Aegis Network chairman and CEO South Asia Ashish Bhasin, the executive council includes Anand Bhadkamkar (Group Finance), Dimple Maheshwary (HR), Divya Karani (Dentsu Media), Simi Sabhaney (Dentsu Communications), Makato Nakao (Japanese International Clients), Kartik Iyer (Carat), Haresh Nayak (Posterscope), Sidharth Rao (Dentsu Webchutney), Narayan Devanathan (Dentsu Creative Impact), Shamsuddin Jasani (Isobar), Vivek Bhargava (iProspect), Nabendu Bhattacharyya (Milestone Brandcom), Rajiv Dingra (WAT Consult), Umesh Shrikhande (Taproot Dentsu), S.     Dentsu Aegis Network acquires majority share in Flexmedia

    MUMBAI: Dentsu Aegis Network has acquired Thailand based digital advertising agency Flexmedia.

     

    Joining one of Dentsu Aegis’ eight global network brands – global performance marketing agency iProspect – the agency will be known as Flexmedia iProspect. The acquisition will significantly scale iProspect’s digital credentials to become the largest performance marketing agency in Thailand and strengthen the already significant Dentsu Aegis Network business locally.

     

    Founded in 2005, the digital agency led by Nathamon Kongthananon as CEO, Komjak Kamthornpasinee as chief marketing officer and Pichit Chearjaraswongs as chief technology officer, has grown to a team of 33 marketing professionals currently servicing international and local brands such as Sumsung, Sansiri, and Siam Commercial Bank.

     

    Nathamon will continue as CEO of Flexmedia iProspect, reporting to Dentsu Aegis Network Thailand CEO Amornsak Sakpuaram.

    Dentsu to acquire Polish performance marketing agency

    MUMBAI: Dentsu Aegis Network has reached an agreement to acquire the Polish performance marketing agency Marketing Wizards.

     

    In Poland, Dentsu provides its clients with services in the digital performance domain through iProspect. Post-acquisition, Marketing Wizards will be integrated with iProspect, further strengthening its capabilities in the digital performance domain and providing even more innovative solutions through collaboration with other Group companies.

     

    Founded in 2010, Marketing Wizards is a full-service digital agency that provides marketing services such as strategic planning, SEM, SEO, digital advertising in the social domain, e-mail marketing & CRM, and creative production in the digital arena.

     

    The agency’s strengths in the digital performance domain include measurement of the causal relationship between digital advertising and consumer purchasing behavior that is linked to actual purchases, and its clients include many e-commerce companies who are focused on their businesses’ return on investment (ROI).

     

    In its March 2015 worldwide advertising expenditure forecasts, the Group’s media communications agency Carat announced that digital advertising expenditures, which are second in scale only to television advertising expenditures in Poland, rose 7.5 per cent in 2014 (2.1 per cent increase in the advertising market overall), and are expected to rise further to nine per cent in 2015 and 11 per cent in 2016.

     

    Marketing Wizards, which is headed by Marcin Pogroszewski as managing director, has 60 employees and its revenue for the year ended December 2014 stood at approximately $2.3 million (PLN 8,750,000).

    Dentsu Asia Pacific appoints Rohit Ohri as CEO

    MUMBAI: In a strategic move, Dentsu Aegis Network has appointed Rohit Ohri as CEO of Dentsu Asia Pacific, where he will be covering all markets in the region except for Japan.

     

    Ohri, who previously helmed Dentsu in India and Asia Pacific (South), will relocate from Delhi to Singapore as part of his new role.

     

    With Ohri moving to Singapore, all agencies under the Dentsu umbrella in India namely Taproot Dentsu, Dentsu Webchutney, Dentsu Marcom, Dentsu Communication, Dentsu Media, Vizeum, iPorspect and Isobar will now come under and report to Dentsu Aegis Network chairman and CEO South Asia Ashish Bhasin.

     

    On the other hand, Ohri will have a more regional role and will handle Dentsu’s Branded Agencies.

    MUMBAI: IndiaFirst Life Insurance has roped in Dentsu Aegis Network’s full service digital agency Isobar India to lead the revamp of their website indiafirstlife.com. Isobar bagged the digital mandate for IndiaFirst Life Insurance in a multi-agency pitch. 

     

    IndiaFirst Life Insurance chief marketing officer Mohit Rochlani said, “At IndiaFirst Life Insurance, we always try and keep customers ‘first’ in everything we do.The revamp of our existing website is part of our endeavour to help our consumers make an informed decision.”

    MUMBAI: Dentsu Aegis Network has launched its digital trading desk – Amnet in India. Amnet, which will fuse the best demand-side platform (DSP) technology to buy highly targeted audience-specific digital media across display, mobile and video, will be headed by Sumit Aggarwal as country head.

    As part of its offerings, Amnet’s services will be exclusive to Dentsu Aegis Network’s clients.
     

    “For the first time in India, Dentsu Aegis Network clients will exclusively have access to programmatic buying at this scale and with such levels of sophistication.     Amnet will provide real-time insights through digital technology and Big Data gathering to help understand the consumers’ on-line behaviour. Digital footprints allow the right ads to be delivered to the right people, at the right time.

    Dentsu Aegis Network wins big at Asian Customer Engagement Forum Awards

    MUMBAI: Dentsu Aegis Network exhibited enormous dominance at the Asia Customer Engagement Forum (ACEF) awards that were held on 25 April at Taj Lands End in Mumbai.

    While Dentsu Aegis Network’s iProspect Communicate 2 was named the Most Admired Agency in digital marketing, Carat Media Services India/psLive was named the Most Admired Agency in events and promotions.

    Posterscope India bagged the award for the Most Admired Agency in out-of-home media as well as the Most Admired customer-engaging agency in retail touch points & merchandising.

     

    Additionally, Posterscope APAC regional director Haresh Nayak was honored with the Outdoor advertising professional of the year award.

     

    Posterscope India bagged a total of 27 awards including eight golds, 12 silvers and five bronze metals along with the agency titles. It was their work for clients such as Mother Diary, Philips, Nissan, Disney, Mattel, beam Suntory, Datsun and Movies Now, which brought home the awards in the following categories – effectiveness, creativity and successful use technology in retail, outdoor and ambient spaces.

     

    Carat was awarded a total of seven wins- five Gold and two Bronze. The Philips Aquatouch ‘New way to shave is here’ campaign was awarded Gold for Promotion using Events.

     

    Philips LED lights ‘Change karo save karo’ campaign won Gold for successful use of technology. The overall activation was done in tandem with their sister concern PSLive, which is into all things activation.

     

    Philips Trimmers bagged Gold for Best use of Celebrity Endorsement. The Philips Airfryer campaign added yet another Gold to the tally under Creativity on Television category. The fifth Gold came in the form of The Most Admired Agency for Events and Promotions.

     

    Carat also won two Bronze metals for Philips Kerashine Range and Preethi Blue Flame Gas Stove launch campaigns.

     

    iProspect Communicate 2 picked up a total of four metals across various categories. The Big Bazaar ‘Everything for Nothing’ campaign was awarded a Gold metal for ‘Promotion using Digital Marketing’.

     

    The agency also picked up two awards in the Successful Use of Technology category, a silver and a bronze for their Cleartrip and Koovs campaigns, respectively. In the Online Media category, iProspect Communicate 2 picked up a bronze medal for its work for HDFC Bank.

     

    Amongst the other Dentsu Aegis Network agencies, Isobar India won the Silver in the promotions category for Digital Marketing for its work on Microsoft Lumia. Vizeum won a Gold for Viacom 18’s MTV Campus Diaries under the events category.
