    Colgate, Robin Hood Army’s #Mission5 serves more than 6 mn people in August

    MUMBAI: Colgate-Palmolive (India), the market leader in oral care in India, in celebration of Independence Day, partnered with Robin Hood Army to serve five million people across the nation for its #Mission5 campaign. A zero-funds organisation, Robin Hood Army works to help the less fortunate, by providing surplus food from restaurants and communities.

    The week-long #Mission5 campaign that started on 10 August and culminated on India's 73rd Independence Day, provided 6.3 million people across 867 villages and 112 cities with dry food supplies along with Colgate Strong Teeth toothpaste packs, reiterating Colgate’s commitment to Keep India Smiling.

    Through this partnership, Colgate reached out to people across the geographies of Rajkot, Amravati, Indore, Kanpur, Ambala, Jammu, Agartala, Belgaum, Vizag and Siliguri, among others.

    In line with Colgate’s belief that ‘Everyone deserves a future they can Smile about’, this partnership with Robin Hood Army, is a small but significant step to add value to the lives of people.

    Speaking about the partnership, Robin Hood Army – Mumbai Chapter, Deepak Singh said, “It has been our pleasure to partner with Colgate for our #Mission5 campaign. They have contributed to the success of this initiative and we look forward to associating with them in the future.”

    YAAP appoints Smriti Shadra as director-content

    MUMBAI: Rainmaker Ventures-backed YAAP has announced the appointment of Smriti Shadra as director-content. She will be based out of the Mumbai office and will report directly to YAAP chief creative officer Deepak Singh.

    Speaking on her appointment, Singh said, “Smriti is one of the young and upcoming talents in the industry; with a rare body of work spanning across multiple mediums. We are happy to have her on board; as she is a perfect fit for an offbeat culture that we are looking to create with a team of people having diversified skill sets. I am confident that she will play an integral role in raising the bar of our creative output while leading a team of people from varied backgrounds.”

    Commenting on her new role, Shadra, added, “Deepak is very clear about the vision that he has for YAAP, and I am more than happy to be a part of it. Advertising today is continuously changing, so the need of the hour is to evolve with the times. This will surely be an interesting move, as it’ll help me explore a dynamic medium like digital in combination with the design.     Smriti has worked with agencies such as Grey Worldwide, JWT, Leo Burnett, Dentsu India Group, and The Social Street. During her previous tenures, she has worked on brands like DHL, Star, MRF, Britannia, Maruti Suzuki, Max Healthcare, Airtel, The Indian Express, Fortis Healthcare, Madhya Pradesh Police, SBI Cards, Twinings, MOHAN Foundation and Alzheimer’s and Related Disorders Society of India.

    She has around 190 Indian and International awards to her credit; across various categories and has been a jury member at The MAA Worldwide Globes, The ABBYS, and The EMVIES. In 2017, Smriti was chosen as an Adobe Young Lantern, acknowledged and judged by the finest jury in the country.

    The YAAP Group works with brands like Dubai Tourism, ITC Hotels, Lufthansa, Coca Cola, American Express, SBI Cards, SHRM, NPCI, Assam Tourism along with more than 50 other brands.

    The Social Street names Deepak Singh as chief creative officer

    MUMBAI: Media agency start up The Social Street has appointed Deepak Singh as its chief creative officer. He will be based out of Mumbai and will report to Social Street founding partner and chairman Pratap Bose.

     

    Bose said, “I am thrilled that Deepak is joining us! Deepak is one of the most decorated art directors and one of the finest art talents we have in our country. Easy-going, light-hearted and humble to the core, he’s proof that looks can be deceiving. Because deep beneath that unassuming persona lies a hunger to keep raising the bar, only to topple it over. I wish him the very best and look forward to seeing some path breaking creativity from him!”

     

    Singh added, “I feel advertising now is much more than just TVCs, print and radio. That’s why with time we should change and try to explore bigger things. Pratap has a clear vision about his plans for The Social Street and knows why he was hiring me, which gives me more confidence. I think the next generation of advertising is much more than mainline advertising and that is what attracts me to shift, and I feel I can do more challenging things now. Digital, outdoor, interactive, activation makes advertising much bigger and more interesting. I am really looking forward to do some great work for The Social Street. My mainline experience will bring new solutions to clients’ problems.”

     

    In his 15 years of professional pursuits, Singh has over 400 national and international awards to his name and has worked with agencies like Leo Burnett, Grey Worldwide, McCann Erickson, DDB Mudra and Dentsu. 

     

    “I really enjoyed working with Bose at DDB in the past and I am very fond of his humble and simple nature and way of looking at things. I always wanted to work with him in the future and I am happy he chose me for this position. I know there are a lot of challenges and learning for me, but I think this partnership with Social Street will add a new dimension to my career,” Singh added.

    Ipsos appoints Deepak Singh as marketing business head

    MUMBAI: Ipsos has appointed Deepak Singh as executive director and head of Ipsos Marketing business in India. He will be based out of Ipsos Bengaluru office and will report to Ipsos Research MD Amit Adarkar.

     

    “Ipsos InnoQuest, Ipsos MarketQuest and Ipsos UU WSBL’s under Ipsos Marketing umbrella comprise a significant part of our business. In order to drive Client satisfaction and aggressive business development amongst our Marketing WSBL Clients, we have created a new leadership role in India which Deepak will head,” said Adarkar.  

     

    Singh will be responsible for P&L of Ipsos Marketing business in India except Ipsos Healthcare. Ipsos InnoQuest head and executive director Vidya Sen, Ipsos MarketQuest head and executive director Shubhranshu Das and Ipsos UU head and executive director Rinku Patnaik will report to him.     

     

    “I am delighted to join Ipsos Marketing business, which helps clients to transform insights into a distinctive competitive advantage. Our specialists offer simple, intuitive solutions built on powerful philosophies and always linked to business outcomes,” said Singh.

     

    He added, “Integration of Ipsos Marketing business in India will help us better coordinate and our aim will be to provide our clients end-to-end marketing research solutions in order to help them uncover people insights and motivations on their markets, innovate and position their brands, and maximise sales to get the best return on investments.”

     

    Prior to joining Ipsos India, Singh was officer at Kantar Japan responsible for non-Japanese global accounts based at Tokyo. Immediately before that he was working as TNS India as managing director – south, looking after south India and Sri Lanka business based out of Bangalore.

     

    Singh is not new to Ipsos as he has previously worked with Ipsos India as executive director and country manager based at Mumbai after an internal relocation from Ipsos Singapore in 2007.

    TBWA India appoints Deepak Singh as national head of arts

    MUMBAI: TBWA India has appointed Deepak Singh as national head of art. Deepak will be reporting to TBWA India chief creative officer Parixit Bhattacharya.

    Commenting on Singh‘s appointment, Bhattacharya said, “Deepak is a rare talent. He has greatness tattooed into him. He is insatiably hungry to get the most out of every brief. Another thing that makes him rare is the fact that he has managed to remain incredibly humble even after attracting such an obnoxious amount of metal. Our entire team at TBWA India will benefit hugely from his presence as he goes about making our work great”.

    Over a decade ago, Singh decided to quit his job as a software engineer and follow his dream into advertising. Since then Singh has worked at agencies such as McCann, Grey Worldwide, Leo Burnett, DDB Mudra and Dentsu Communications.

    “I love my job – the best part about it is that an idea can come from anywhere. And there is no one who is big or small in the industry. It‘s the idea that makes the person big or small. TBWA has a great roster of clients that gives me the opportunity to do some fantastic work. I‘m looking forward to working with Parixit Bhattacharya who brings along with him a lot of international experience and awards. The plans for TBWA India are very impressive and I‘m going to make sure that I live up to my reputation,” said Singh.

    TBWA India CEO Shiv Sethuraman said, “Deepak doesn‘t need a certificate from me or anyone else. He has a room full of metal and an inspiring work ethic.   • Dentsu Communications appoints Vedobroto Roy & Deepak Singh as ECDs

    Mumbai: Dentsu Communications has appointed Vedobroto Roy and Deepak Singh as ECDs and creative heads.

    Both Roy and Singh will be based in Mumbai.

    Roy joins Dentsu from Leo Burnett while Singh has moved from DDB Mudra, Mumbai.

    Dentsu Communications CEO Arijit Ray said, “I am really glad to have Vedobroto and Deepak on board. Both Deepak and Ved bring to the table the perfect combination of talent and the right attitude to provide leadership and transform the creative product and culture to the next level.     Roy started his career at Ogilvy Mumbai, joined JWT Delhi later and then went to Cheil Communications, Delhi. He then joined Leo-Burnett, Dhaka. For the past 12-13 years, he has worked on brands that include Pepsi and Samsung, across agencies and geographies. Apart from working on Brand Pepsi, his team headed by him re-launched 7 UP and Tropicana.

    Singh has worked with clients like Philips, Electrolux, Emirates, World Wide Media Group when he was with DDB Mudra. Before DDB Mudra, he had worked with Leo Burnett, Grey and McCann, working on brands like Vimal, Suzlon, Parle, Kinetic and Bajaj.
