    Sant Prasad Rai resigns as Managing Editor of TV9 Bharatvarsh; Deep Upadhyay to lead currently

    Mumbai: Sant Prasad Rai has stepped down as managing editor of TV9 Bharatvarsh. He was associated with the channel for over three years. To synergize broadcast & digital editorial operations, TV9 Bharatvarsh to be helmed by Deep Upadhyay who is currently the editor of convergence & strategy.

    Upadhyay will be assisted by Rahul Chaudhary in day-to-day news operations at TV9 Bharatvarsh.

    Rai has three decades of experience in electronic media. Earlier, he was associated with India TV as senior executive editor for a year. He has held many reputed positions at Zee Media, News 24, Sahara Samay and ETV UP. Rai has been relieved from his day-to-day newsroom responsibilities with immediate effect at TV9 Bharatvarsh.

    Upadhyay has joined the news network from News 24. He has worked with various media houses such as India TV, Zee News and Dainik Bhaskar.

    TV9 Network appoints Deep Upadhyay as interim editor of Hindi & English websites

    Mumbai: TV9 Network has expanded the role of editor convergence and strategy Deep Upadhyay by appointing him as interim editor of TV9 Hindi and English websites. He will also coordinate with the group’s regional digital assets.

    The company said, “TV9 Group has gained undisputed leadership in the broadcast space. The network has made significant strides in the digital arena as well. TV9 aspires to replicate its stupendous success in broadcast across its digital properties.”

    “The group, accordingly, is effecting certain strategic changes at the leadership level to ensure TV9 digital emerges as a champion as well,” said the statement.

    Deep Upadhyay had joined TV9 Network from News24 where he had a successful stint as managing editor for more than seven years. He is a senior journalist who has worked with various media houses like India TV, Zee News and Dainik Bhaskar.

    TV9 Network reviews its company policy to extend association with group editor B V Rao

    Mumbai: TV9 Network is reviewing its company policy to extend its association with its group editor B V Rao. Rao’s contract with the news broadcasting network expires in July.

    “We are reviewing our post-retirement employment engagement policies and are in discussion with Rao on the nature of his continuing association with the group,” said the company’s statement.

    Rao is a veteran journalist with over 35 years of experience. Rao joined TV9 Network in December 2019. Earlier, he was associated with Network18 Group as editor of Firstpost.com. During his career, he has been associated with The Times Group, The Indian Express, Zee News and India Today Group, among others.

    Rao began his career in 1989 at Mid-Day, Delhi. Afterwards, he joined Indian Express as news editor in 1991. He joined Free Press Journal in 1994 where he served as executive editor. Rao has also worked as a news and communication director at Reliance.

    The company also announced that TV9 editor – convergence and strategy Deep Upadhyay will take charge of Hindi (TV9Hindi.com) and English (News9Live.com) websites, as TV9 editor – Hindi Shailesh Chaturvedi moves on.

    Earlier, Upadhyay was associated with News24 where he had served as the managing editor. During his long career, he has worked with prominent media companies like India TV, Zee News and Dainik Bhaskar.

    Ajit Anjum set to join India TV as managing editor

    MUMBAI: Ajit Anjum, current managing editor of News 24 is set to take up the same position with one of the leading Hindi news channels- India TV.

     

    Anjum is currently serving his notice period with News 24 and according to sources, will be joining India TV from 1 August. This place has been vacant since former managing editor Vinod Kapri left the channel after a long stint of six years.

     

    Meanwhile, News 24 deputy director for news Deep Upadhyay will oversee operations.

     

    With an experience spanning more than two decades, Anjum has had stints with Aaj Tak, Chauthi Duniya and Amar Ujala.
