  • ESS promotes Huw Bevan as senior VP production

    MUMBAI: In recognition of the network’s corporate leadership team, ESPN Star Sports has promoted Huw Bevan as senior vice president, production.
    Bevan who was previously vice president, production, will continue to report directly to ESS MD Jamie Davis.
    On Bevan’s promotion, Davis said, “Bevan has overseen our production operations, introduced new production and programming initiatives and built a talented staff that keeps our production ranked among the very top in Asia. I look forward to Bevan’s contribution in his expanded role which will help to lead the company into the next stage of our growth.”
    With his promotion, Bevan will assume a broader strategic and leadership role in the company including advancing the network in product development and new programming initiatives. He will continue his key role of overseeing ESPN STAR Sports production operations with additional emphasis on capitalising on potential synergies across the Company’s networks, states an official release.

    Channel [V] China appoints Grace Gu as general manager

    MUMBAI: Star has announced the appointment of Grace Gu as general manager of Channel [V] China. Gu will be replacing Scarlett Li, who has resigned for personal reasons.

    Gu will assume day-to-day operational responsibility at Channel [V] China, and will be reporting directly to Star China president Jamie Davis.

    “We are very pleased to have Grace join the company. Her experience and expertise in the media industry and in consumer marketing in China will contribute significantly to Channel [V]’s goal of localization. I am confident that under Grace’s leadership, Channel [V] will continue to bring more innovative and quality content to our audience in China, said Davis in an official release.

    Gu is a China television industry veteran with over 10 years of working experience at the Zhejiang Radio and Television Group. She also has extensive experience in marketing most recently with Elle in China, added the release.
