    Mumbai wins early access screening of ‘The Beekeeper’ at PVR Juhu

    Mumbai: The spotlight is on Mumbai as it emerges triumphant in a nationwide voting contest for PVR INOX’s early access show of The Beekeeper, granting its residents the privilege of an early encounter with Jason Statham in David Ayer’s adrenaline-packed thriller. Movie enthusiasts in Mumbai will be the first in the world to witness Jason Statham’s return as Adam Clay on the grand cinematic canvas. The exclusive screening is set to premiere on Wednesday, 17 January 2024, at 5:00 pm, hosted at PVR Juhu, Mumbai. In a delightful bonus, each ticket purchased will come with a complimentary popcorn tub, and patrons stand a chance to win exciting movie merchandise. Bobby Deol, who captivated the audience globally with his most recent outing ‘Animal’, will also attend the early access screening of ‘The Beekeeper.’ Patrons can book the tickets for this special screening on the PVR app or website.

    Directed by David Ayer, ‘The Beekeeper’ follows Jason Statham’s character, Adam Clay, on a relentless quest for retribution after his covert ties to the formidable “Beekeepers” organization are exposed. The movie, written by Kurt Wimmer, boasts an ensemble cast including Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi, and Josh Hutcherson, among others. Having premiered at the illustrious 2022 Cannes festival, the film is scheduled for a theatrical release on January 19, 2024 in India and will also be screened across IMAX, 4DX, MX4D, and Screen X cinema formats at PVR INOX cinemas.     MUMBAI: Movies Now will premier Fury — the thrilling war action-drama starring Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf on 8 November at 1 and 9 pm.

     

    Fury is a movie based on the life of the US tank crews towards the culmination of the World War II in Nazi Germany. The film stars Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Logran Lerman, Michael Pena and John Bernthal. It has been written and directed by David Ayer, who was moved to narrate the story after he read about the war service of his family veterans and the stories he read about the American armored divisions in World War II.

     

    Brad Pitt plays a U.S Army staff sergeant fondly named, Wardaddy as he leads a five-man all veteran crew in an M4 tank called, ‘Fury’, with which he and his tough crew battle to vanquish the Germans.  The all-star cast and remarkably filmed war action sequences make Fury a gripping, iconic not-to-be-missed war classic.

     

    While the channel is bringing to its viewers a great movie, it is also giving them a chance to win prizes during the telecast of the movie. The channel will be running an on-air contest in which viewers will have to give a missed call to the number that will flash on screen while the movie is being played at 1 pm and 9 pm on 8th November. The prizes include the latest iPhone 6S – one during each airing of the film.

     

    On digital, the channel’s Fury campaign will hold unique social media contests on 8 November for all its followers. On Twitter, fans can put their Fury knowledge to the test and win prizes every hour.     Tom Hardy drops out of ‘Suicide Squad’

    MUMBAI:  Directed by David Ayer, the all-star comic book movie, Suicide Squad, produced by Warner Bros. was slated to star Tom Hardy reprising the role of Rick Flagg, the leader of the group that consists of Batman villains- Deadshot, Joker, Harley Quinn, Boomerang and Enchantress.

     

    According to sources Hardy unfortunately had to make an exit due to date problems. The actor is currently shooting for The Revenant, co-starring Leonardo DiCaprio, and that shoot is now looking to last longer than initially planned.

     

    Upon hearing this, Warner Bros. has decided to cast Jake Gyllenhaal in replacement of Hardy. Gyllenhaal, who has gained popularity for his performance in the Nightcrawler, has previously worked with Ayer on the acclaimed police thriller, End of Watch. It is however unclear whether or not the actor will take it on.

     

    Based on DC Entertainment’s, the cast of Suicide Squad includes Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Jai Courtney and Cara Delevingne. The film is due to begin shooting mid-April in Toronto and is scheduled to release on 05 August 2016.
