    NEW DELHI: DataWind has partnered with Iris Computers to distribute its Internet-enabled tablets and smartphones throughout Iris Computers’ distribution network in India.

     

    Through this partnership, DataWind’s entire range of tablets and smartphones will be sold throughout Iris Computers’ network of over 2,500 channel partners. The agreement expands DataWind’s growing distribution network, which will total over 7,500 retail locations upon completion of the current phase.

     

    DataWind President and CEO Suneet Singh Tuli said, “Partnering with Iris will enhance our retail distribution reach and contribute to greater productivity and business expansion for our channel partners. While the partnership is initially meant for Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh we expect our Internet-enabled smartphones and tablets to be distributed throughout Iris Indian network in the near future.”

     

    Iris Computers network consists of more than 2,500 channel partners, aggregators and regional distributors which sell a variety of technology products ranging from high-end technical products to passive networking solutions. Iris’s core competencies include rapid logistics, well-supervised inventory administration and a strong marketing and distribution reach throughout India.

    NEW DELHI: India-based low cost Internet connectivity and wireless web access products manufacturer DataWind Inc. has shipped the first 80,000 Internet-enabled tablets and smartphones from its new production facility that opened last month in Amritsar.

     

    After establishing India’s first and only manufacturing facility for touch panels in 2013 and now by producing the majority of its products in India, DataWind has taken a major step in the direction of realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ vision.

     

    “By producing state-of-the-art and most affordable devices in India, we not only wish to supply products that would make Indians proud, but boost skills in India by generating highly skilled employment locally,” said DataWind president & CEO Suneet Singh Tuli. 

     

    The company expects to continue expanding its position in the Tablet PC market by increasing the range of products manufactured at the Amritsar facility.

     

    “The economics of this move to India are also supported by the growing demand for our products – all of which come bundled with one year of pre-paid Internet access in India on the Reliance network. By providing the most affordable Internet access solution in the country, we expect to take the Digital India initiative to the next stage by insuring every citizen has access to education, commerce and government services,” said Tuli.

    NEW DELHI: DataWind, provider of wireless web access products, has announced expansion of its Indian retail footprint through a new partnership with HomeShop18, one of India’s comprehensive virtual retailer operating in an integrated multimedia environment. 
     
    HomeShop18 and DataWind as part of the agreement will jointly launch special sales programmes across broadcast, mobile and internet media to create greater access of UbiSlates, India’s largest selling low cost android tablets and internet access devices.
     
    DataWind, in the last couple of months, has aggressively expanded its distribution network through a series of modern, traditional and online retail distribution agreements.  DataWind’s UbiSlate range of tablets and PocketSurfer series of smartphones are now available across the country at specialist as well as general mobile stores and large format electronics retail superstores.  These new channels now support the company’s existing retail infrastructure that include online and direct to consumer channels.

    MUMBAI: DataWind the makers of Aakash and Ubislate Tablet PC, and a leading provider of wireless web access products and services ties up with PayUMoney to benefit its consumer base with the 10% of cash-back deal on the purchase of DataWind products.

     

    The tie up between DataWind & PayUMoney gives consumer liberty of cash back of a 10% for every transaction.  Payment can be made though CreditCard, DebitCard and other mobile payment option available on the website.

     

     This Offer can be availed only through PayUMoney payment option on the payment page of the Datawind’s website, buyer need to register them on PayUMoney before making the payment. The Buyer will receive a cash-back for all payments made through PayUMoney. The cash-back will be credited back to the Buyer’s PayUMoney Wallet is valid up to one year, which may then be used for paying for goods or services provided by PayUMoney’s Seller partners. Also the maximum cash-back per transaction will not exceed Rs. 50/- and consumer can utilize it as a discount on the very next purchase as well.

    NEW DELHI: After creating the affordable tablet market in India with Akash tablets, Datawind has recently launched its PocketSurfer smartphones at breakthrough pricing. It intends to disrupt the mobile phone market with this new launch.

    DataWind emerges as the number one tablet maker in India

    NEW DELHI: DataWind, which claims to be the cheapest tablet in the world, has a total market share of 15.3 per cent and it is the number one tablet maker in India.

    DataWind CEO Suneet Singh Tuli, who has so far been selling the tablets through certain universities and the Communications and Information Technology Ministry, now plans to go online to sell the tablet.

    At present, DataWind tablets are primarily currently sold through its call-centre. Its website UbiSlate.com and other ecommerce partners intend to start establishing a retail presence this summer.

    According to Cyber Media Research‘s India Quarterly Tablet Market report for Q1 2013, DataWind with a share of 15.3 percent in Indian tablet market is well ahead of Micromax (12.3 percent) and Apple (11.7 percent) in the first quarter of 2013.

    Interestingly, DataWind‘s supply of 100,000 Aakash2 devices to IIT-Bombay are not included in CMR‘s Tablet Market Report. CMR considers the volume of commercially sold product for the calculation.

    “The enormous demand for our products helps validate ourfocus on affordability and connectivity. Unlike many in this industry that are focused on providing media tablets to the elite, our focus is toenable Indians with their first computer at an affordable price,” said Tuli.

    The company‘s UbiSlate 7C+ is the lowest priced tablet in the world at Rs 4,999 inclusive of all duties and taxes in the Indian market.
     
    Exactly a year earlier, UbiSlate introduced multi-lingual tablet in English, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Punjabi and various other languages of India and the world.

    Datawind entered a strategic alliance with Reverie Language Technologies Pvt. Ltd. of Bangalore to ensure that the Ubislate series of tablets will offer an end user experience in all major local languages of India and the world.

    In April last year, Aakash One and Aakash Two tablets – technically named by its manufacturer DataWind as Ubislate 7+ and Ubislate 7C Models – were launched formally launched despite the controversy that surrounded the brand with Indian Institute of Technology – Rajasthan rejecting the models and the government shifting the work to IIT- Mumbai.

    The tablet provides smartphone communication, internet access, tablet computing and multimedia entertainment, the devices also pack a powerful combination of content and applications.
