    Indiacast partners with ABS Broadcast to launch Viacom18 channels on Sky Glass

    Mumbai: IndiaCast Media Distribution has partnered with ABS Broadcast to launch Viacom18’s marquee channels – Colors and Colors Rishtey on the streaming TV platform Sky Glass. Launched in October last year, the custom-designed 4K TV doesn’t require a satellite dish or box for it to work.

    Viewers in the UK can now watch shows such as “Bigg Boss,” “The Big Picture,” “Dance Deewane” and others on the Sky Glass platform with more content added every day.

    “We wanted to expand onto Sky Glass, and choosing ABS Broadcast to deliver proved to be a decision which has more than paid off,” said IndiaCast Media Distribution executive vice president and head international business Govind Shahi. Indiacast is a multi-platform content asset monetisation entity jointly owned by TV18 and Viacom18. “It’s important that our channels are accessible across as many platforms as possible, and I am pleased to say that Colors and Colors Rishtey are now available on Sky Glass for our UK audiences.”

    ABS Broadcast managing director Sass Jahani said, “I am very proud of the teams at ABS, Viacom18 and IndiaCast for getting this service launched with such a fast turnaround, whilst also dealing with the many hurdles along the way.”

    The addition of Viacom18 channels has set ABS Broadcast as the provider with most launches on Sky Glass.

    MUMBAI: Harnessing the power of brand Colors, Viacom18 has brought its 24-hour Hindi movie channel, Rishtey Cineplex and the Hindi general entertainment channel, Rishtey under the Colors umbrella. Assuming their new identities 1 March onwards, the channels will be known as Colors Cineplex and Colors Rishtey respectively. Amped up with new content, the channels will be establishing themselves as premium urban entertainment destinations available on a pay model.

    After having positioned itself as the #1 mass Hindi movie channel,  Colors Cinpelex in its reinvigorated avatar will woo the viewers with its powerful line-up of blockbuster films and content-around-content formats. Colors   Rishtey on the other hand, will showcase recent and popular shows from  Colors’ vast content library, like Naagin Season3, Dance Deewane, Bigg Boss, Madhubala along with newly introduced original series like Navrangi Re! and Hum Saaf Saaf Hai.

    Speaking about the new identity of the channels, said Nina Elavia Jaipuria, Head – Hindi Mass Entertainment & Kids TV Network, Viacom18, “The idea is to expand the aegis of brand  Colors   and strengthen Viacom18’s Hindi Mass Entertainment portfolio drawing in more synergies. Colors has established itself as a household brand in just a decade and it was a logical move to consolidate the mass entertainment channels under its iconic clout.”

    “The new identity of the channels with golden hues and the archetype petal will convey the continuing evolution and growth of our business while also fortifying our bond with the viewers of the Colors Family. So far, the trend and consumption on both the channels have been extremely encouraging and now with the scaled-up movie library along with its premium positioning, we are confident of breaking new ground,” she further added.

    Colors Cineplex has acquired the most anticipated films of the year like, Brahmastra, Student of the Year 2, RAW, Drive, The Body, Thackeray, Fraud Saiyaan and many more. The line-up also includes Hindi dubbed version of blockbuster regional films like Mani Ratnam’s Chekka Chivantha Vaanam(Tamil), Kadaikutty Singam(Tamil), Kavacham(Telugu), Junga(Tamil), Charlie Chaplin(Tamil) and Seetharam Kalyana (Kannada).     Apart from the morning, matinee, prime-time and weekend line-up of impressive Hindi films and hot-selling South Indian dubbed content,  Colors Cineplex will showcase byte-sized content  like, ‘Teetar mausi’ – a gossip section that will spill the beans on celebrities; ‘Dialoguebaazi’, where popular dialogues from various films will be mashed up using animated kinetic typography. In addition to this there will be vignettes of various film festivals, behind the scene trivia and coverage of exclusive RedCarpet extravaganzas amongst many other interesting concepts.

    BENGALURU: Viacom 18’s flagship Hindi GEC Colors jumped up to third rank in Broadcast Audience Research Council of India’s (BARC) weekly list of top 10 channels across genres in week 38 of 2018 (Saturday, 15 September 2018 to Friday, 21 September 2018). At its usual first rank was the Sun TV Network’s flagship Tamil GEC Sun TV followed by Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Zeel) free to air (FTA) Hindi GEC Zee Anmol at second rank. Consequently, Zee Anmol was the most watched Hindi channel and Colors the second most watched Hindi channel across genres, be it Hindi GEC or Hindi movies in week 38 of 2018 (week under review or consideration). It was also the most watched Hindi pay-TV channel during week 38 of 2018.
    Six Hindi GECs, two Hindi movies channels and one channel each from the Tamil and Telugu genres comprised BARC’s weekly list of top 10 channels across genres (across genres list) in week 38 of 2018. From the networks’ perspective, there were three channels each from Star India and Sony Pictures Network India (SPN), two channels from Zeel and one channel each from the Sun TV Network and Viacom 18 in BARC’s across genres list during the week under review.
    As mentioned above, at its normal first rank in week 38 was the Tamil GEC Sun TV with 1,029.426 million weekly impressions as compared to 1,043.906 million weekly impressions in week 37 of 2018. Sun TV also led BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Tamil channels in the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry market and all of the 5 programmes in BARC’s list of top 5 Tamil programmes during primetime in these markets based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week under review were aired on Sun TV.
    Continuing on at its second rank in week 38 of 2018 was Zee Anmol with 863.279 million weekly impressions as compared to 816.131 million weekly impressions in week 37. Zee Anmol was also ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in the combined urban and rural Hindi speaking markets or HSM (U+R) and HSM (R) and was ranked eighth in HSM (U). The Balaji Telefilms produced soap Kumkum Bhagya aired on Zee Anmol was ranked second in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and was ranked first in HSM (R). Another soap from the channel, Mahek, was ranked third in HSM (R).

    Also, as mentioned above, Colors which had re-entered the across genres list in week 37 of 2018, was ranked third in week 38 with 727.244 million weekly impressions as compared to 654.144 million weekly impressions and at seventh rank. Colors was ranked third in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R), first in HSM (U) and ninth in HSM (R). The third season of the Balaji Telefilms produced supernatural drama Naagin 3 and the grand finale of the dance show Dance Deewane were among BARC’s top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U). Further, Naagin 3 was ranked fifth among BARC’s top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (R).
    Star India’s FTA channel Star Utsav also retained its fourth rank in week 38 of 2018 with 695.203 million weekly impressions as compared to 669.262 million weekly impressions in week 37. Star Utsav was ranked second in BARC’s list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R), second in HSM (R) and was ranked seventh in HSM (U). The soap Rabba Ve aired on Star Utsav was ranked second in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (R).
    Dropping down two ranks to fifth rank was Zeel’s flagship Hindi GEC Zee TV with 657.866 million weekly impressions as compared to 723.225 million weekly impressions in week 37. Zee TV was ranked fourth in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U) and seventh in HSM (R) during the week. Two programmes that were aired on Zee TV- Kumkum Bhagya, and its spinoff Kundali Bhagya were at fifth and fourth ranks respectively in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U). Kundali Bhagya on Zee TV was ranked fourth in HSM (R) during primetime.

    Sliding down a rank to sixth place was Star India’s flagship Hindi GEC Star Plus with 655.169 million impressions as compared to 682.419 million weekly impressions in the previous week. Star Plus was ranked fifth in BARC’s weekly lists of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and was ranked second in HSM (U) and tenth in HSM (R). Director’s Kut Productions produced Hindi soap Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai aired on Star Plus was ranked third in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in HSM (U).
    Star Maa also dropped a rank to seventh place in week 38 of 2018 with 631.517 million weekly impressions as compared with 668.179 million weekly impressions in week 37. Star Maa was ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Telugu channels in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana market. Five programmes that were aired on Star Maa were present in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Telugu programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in the same market.
    SPN’s Hindi Movies channel Sony Wah climbed to eighth rank in week 38 of 2018 from tenth rank in week 37. The channel garnered 629.401 million weekly impressions in week 38 as compared to 618.353 million weekly impressions in the previous week. Sony Wah was ranked first in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi movies channels in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R) and fourth in HSM (U). Hindi feature film (HFF) Rowdy Rathore that featured on Sony Wah was among the top 5 most watched Hindi movies programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) for the week in BARC’s list in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R). Another HFF, Magadheera, was also among the five most watched programmes during primetime in HSM (R).
    Another SPN Hindi Movies channel, Sony Max re-entered BARC’s across genres list in week 38 of 2018 with 624.491 million weekly impressions at ninth rank. The world television premiere of HFF Sketch that featured on Sony Max was among the top 5 most watched Hindi movies programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) for the week in BARC’s list in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U). Other HFFs on Sony Max, Tiger Zinda Hai, Kanchana 3, and Bhairava, were also among the five most watched programmes during primetime in HSM (U).
    At tenth rank was SPN’s flagship Hindi GEC Sony Entertainment Television (SET). SET’s ratings in week 38 of 2018 were 594.887 million weekly impressions as compared to 629.656 million weekly impressions in week 37. SET was ranked sixth in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GEC channels in HSM (U+R), and third in HSM (U).

    BENGALURU: Viacom18’s flagship Hindi GEC Colors re-entered Broadcast Audience Research Council of India’s (BARC) weekly list of top 10 channels across genres – All India (U+R) 2+ in week 34 of 2018 (week under review, Saturday 18 August 2018 to Friday 24 August 2018) at tenth rank. The channel that was absent in week 33 has been present in BARC’s across genres list for 25 of the first 34 weeks of 2018. In BARC’s list of top ten Hindi GECs in the combined urban and rural Hindi speaking markets – HSM (U+R), Colors was ranked fifth, in the HSM rural or HSM (R) it was ranked tenth and in the urban HSM or HSM (U), it was ranked second in week 34 of 2018.

    Six Hindi GECs, two Hindi movies channels and one channel each from the Tamil and the Telugu genres made up BARC’s weekly list of top 10 channels across genres in week 34 of 2018. From the network’s perspective, there were four channels from Star India, two channels each from Sony Pictures Network India (SPN) and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Zeel) and one channel each from the Sun TV Network and Viacom 18.

    At its normal first rank in week 34 was Sun TV Network’s flagship Tamil GEC Sun TV with 1017.394 million weekly impressions as compared to 1,027.548 million weekly impressions in week 33 of 2018. Sun TV also led BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Tamil channels in the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry market and all the 5 programmes in BARC’s list of top 5 Tamil programmes during primetime in these markets based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week under review were aired on Sun TV.

    Retaining its second rank was Zeel’s free to air or FTA Hindi GEC Zee Anmol in week 34 of 2018 with 807.267 million weekly impressions as compared to 762.485 million weekly impressions in week 33. Zee Anmol was also ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs’ in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R). The Balaji Telefilms produced soap Kumkum Bhagya aired on Zee Anmol was ranked  second in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and was ranked first in HSM (R). Another soap from the channel, Mahek, was ranked third in HSM (R).

    Climbing up three ranks was Star India’s flagship Telugu GEC Star Maa to third rank in BARC’s across genres list for week 34 of 2018 with 697.191 million weekly impressions as compared to fifth rank and 683.334 million weekly impressions in week 33. Star Maa was ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Telugu channels in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana market. Three of the five top programmes that were aired on Star Maa were present in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Telugu programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week.

    Also retaining its previous week’s fourth rank was Star India’s FTA Hindi GEC Star Utsav in week 34 of 2018 with 684.340 million weekly impressions as compared and 717.238 million weekly impressions in week 33. Star Utsav was ranked second in BARC’s list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R) and was ranked seventh in HSM (U). The soap Rabba Ve aired on Star Utsav was ranked second in BARC’s weekly in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (R).

    Continuing on with its previous weeks fifth rank was Star India’s flagship Hindi GEC Star Plus with 674.437 million impressions in week 34 of 2018 as compared to 698.754 million weekly impressions in the previous week. Star Plus was ranked fourth in BARC’s weekly lists of top 10 Hindi GECs’ in HSM (U+R) and was ranked first in HSM (U). Director’s Kut Productions produced Hindi soap Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai aired on Star Plus was ranked fifth in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime  based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and was ranked second in HSM (U).

    Climbing up a rank to sixth place was SPN’s Hindi Movies channel Sony Wah with 667.474 million weekly impressions in week 34 of 2018 as compared to 681.055 million weekly impressions in week 33. Sony Wah was ranked first in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi Movies channels in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R) and fifth in HSM (U). Hindi feature films (HFF) that featured on Sony Wah – Karan Arjun and Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya were among the top 5 most watched Hindi movies programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) for the week in BARC’s list in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R). Two more HFF- Jamai Raja and Yevadu 2 on Sony Wah were also on BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi Movies programmes during primetime in HSM (R).

    Dropping down four ranks to seventh place in week 34 of 2018 was another SPN Hindi Movies channel Sony Max with 664.337 million weekly impressions as compared to 718.388 million weekly impressions in week 33. Sony Max was also ranked second in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi movies channels in the HSM (U+R), first in HSM (U) and was ranked fifth in HSM (R). Kanchana 3 andTheri on Sony Max were among BARC’s list of the top 5 Hindi movies programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R). Further, Kanachana 3, Sultan and Bhairava on Sony Max were also among BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi movies programmes during primetime list in HSM (U).

    Climbing up a rank to eighth place was Star India’s FTA Hindi GEC Star Bharat in week 34 of 2018 with 659.579 million weekly impressions as compared to ninth rank and 619.664 million weekly impressions in week 33. Star Bharat was ranked third in BARC’s list of top 10 Hindi channels in HSM (U+R), sixth in HSM (R) and HSM (U) in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GEC channels during the week under review.

    Also climbing up a rank to ninth place in week 34 of 2018 was Zeel’s flagship Hindi GEC Zee TV with 628.308 million weekly impressions as compared to 619.458 million weekly impressions in week 33. Zee TV was ranked sixth in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R), third in HSM (U) and seventh in HSM (R) during the week. Two programme that were aired on Zee TV- Kumkum Bhagya, and its spinoff Kundali Bhagya were in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R). Kundali Bhagya on Zee TV was also ranked fourth in HSM (U) in BARC’s lists of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week.

    As mentioned above, re-entering the list in week 34 of 2018 at tenth place was Colors with 622.131 million weekly impressions. The third season of the Balaji Telefilms produced supernatural drama Naagin 3 was among BARC’s top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U). Another reality dance show – Dance Deewane was also present among the top 5 Hindi GEC programmes based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U).

    BENGALURU: After a short hiatus, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Zeel) free to air (FTA) Hindi GEC Zee Anmol was back at number two rank in Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC) weekly list of the top 10 channels across genres (across genres list) in week 32 of 2018 (Saturday, 4 August 2018 to Friday, 10 August 2018, week under review). At the first rank in BARC’s across genres list was the Sun TV Network’s flagship Tamil GEC Sun TV. Like last week, two free to air (FTA) Hindi GEC, one flagship channel each from Hindi GEC and Telugu GEC genres from the Star India stable were also present in BARC’s across genres list for the week under review.

    Seven Hindi GECs and one channel each from the Hindi movies genre, Tamil GEC and Telugu GEC comprised BARC’s weekly list of top 10 channels during the week under review. From the network’s perspective, besides the four Star India channels, there were two channels each from Sony Pictures Network India (SPN) and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Zeel) and one channel each from the Sun TV Network and Viacom18 in the across genres list in week 32 of 2018.

    As is the norm, Sun TV led the across the genres list at first place in week 32 with 1,133.028 million weekly impressions as compared to 1,046.99 million weekly impressions in week 31 of 2018. Sun TV also led BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Tamil channels in the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry market and all the 5 programmes in BARC’s list of top 5 Tamil programmes during primetime in these markets based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week under review were aired on Sun TV.

    At second rank was Zee Anmol in week 32 of 2018 with 749.977 million weekly impressions as compared to 653.951 million weekly impressions in week 31. Zee Anmol was also ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in the combined urban and rural Hindi speaking market – HSM (U+R) and HSM (R). The Balaji Telefilms produced soap Kumkum Bhagya aired on Zee Anmol was ranked fourth in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and was ranked first in HSM (R). Another soap from the channel, Mahek, was ranked fourth in HSM (R).

    Star India’s flagship Hindi GEC Star Plus climbed up two ranks to third place in week 32 of 2018 with 726.112 million impressions as compared to 665.796 million weekly impressions in the previous week. Star Plus was ranked second in BARC’s weekly lists of top 10 Hindi GECs’ in HSM (U+R) and was ranked first in HSM (U). Director’s Kut Productions produced Hindi soap Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai aired on Star Plus was ranked fifth in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime  based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and was ranked second in HSM (U).

    Also climbing up two ranks in week 32 of 2018 was Star India’s flagship Telugu GEC Star Maa at fifth place with 659.642 million weekly impressions as compared to 649.967 million weekly impressions in week 31. Star Maa was ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Telugu channels in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana market. The first four of the top 5 programmes that were aired on Star Maa were present in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Telugu programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week.

Kumkum Bhagya on Zee TV was also ranked third and Kundali Bhagya ranked fourth in HSM (U) in BARC’s lists of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week.

    SPN’s Hindi Movies channel Sony Wah re-entered BARC’s across genres weekly at rank seven in week 32 of 2018 with 628.865 million weekly impressions. Sony Wah as ranked first in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi Movies channels in HSM (U+R), as well is in HSM (U). In HSM (R) Sony Wah was ranked fifth in the Hindi Movies genre. Hindi feature films (HFF) that featured on Sony Max – Rowdy Rathore and PK were among the top 5 most watched Hindi Movies programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) for the week in BARC’s list in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R). A third HFF- Yevadu on Sony Wah was also on BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi Movies programmes during primetime in HSM (R).

    Viacom18’s flagship Hindi GEC Colors climbed up a rank to eighth place in week 32 of 2018 with 620.538 million weekly impressions as compared to eighth rank and 630.498 million weekly impressions in week 31. Colors was ranked seventh in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and was ranked second in HSM (U). Naagin 3  retained the top place in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R).     BENGALURU: Sony Pictures Network India’s (SPN) Hindi Movies channel Sony Max once again topped Hindi channels in Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC) list of top 10 channels across genres list (across genres list) for week 31 of 2018 (Saturday, 28 July 2018 to Friday, 3 August 2018, week or period under review). At rank number two, and the only Hindi Movies channel in the list, Sony Max headed all the eight Hindi language channels in the across genres list during the week. Two free to air (FTA) Hindi GEC, one flagship channel each from Hindi GEC and Telugu GEC genres from the Star India stable were also present in BARC’s across genres list for the week under review.

    Seven Hindi GECs, one channel each from the Hindi Movies, Tamil GEC and Telugu GEC comprised BARC’s weekly list for top10 channels across genres in week 31 of 2018. From the network’s perspective, besides the four Star India channels, there were two channels each from SPN and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Zeel) and one channel each from the Sun TV Network and Viacom18 in the across genres list during the period under review.

    Sun TV led the across the genres list in week 31 with 1,046.99 million weekly impressions as compared to 1,048.709 million weekly impressions in week 30 of 2018. Sun TV also led BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Tamil channels in the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry market and all the 5 programmes in BARC’s list of top 5 Tamil programmes during primetime in these markets based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week under review were aired on Sun TV.

    At second place in week 31 of 2018 was Sony Max with 703.748 million weekly impressions as compared to 737.406 million weekly impressions in week 30. The channel was also the most watched channel in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi Movies channels in the combined urban and rural Hindi speaking market – HSM (U+R), as well is in HSM (U). In HSM (R) Sony Max was ranked fifth in the Hindi Movies genre. Hindi feature films (HFF) that featured on Sony Max – Bahubali the Beginning and DJ were among the top 5 most watched Hindi Movies programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) for the week in BARC’s list in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U). A third HFF- Sooryavansham on Sony Max was also on BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi Movies programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in HSM (U).

    Zeel’s flagship Hindi GEC Zee TV retained its third rank in the across genres list in week 31 of 2018 with higher ratings of 702.128 million weekly impressions as compared to 675.605 million weekly impressions in week 30. Zee TV was ranked second in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R), third in HSM (U) and seventh in HSM (R) during the week. Two programmes that were aired on Zee TV- The Balaji Telefilms produced Kundali Bhagya, a spinoff of the Balaji Telefilms produced Kumkum Bhagya, was ranked second, Kumkum Bhagya was ranked third in HSM (U+R)  in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week. Kundali Bhagya on Zee TV was also ranked second and Kumkum Bhagya ranked fourth in HSM (U) in BARC’s lists of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week.

    Star India’s FTA channel Star Utsav climbed up two ranks to fourth place in week 31 of 2018 with 684,843 million weekly impressions as compared to eighth place and 657.357 million weekly impressions in week 30. Star Utsav had re-entered BARC’s across genres list in week 29.  Star Utsav was ranked first in BARC’s list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R), second in HSM (R) and was ranked seventh in HSM (U). The soap Rabba Ve aired on Star Utsav was among BARC’s weekly in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (R).

    Star India’s flagship Hindi GEC Star Plus re-entered the across genres list in week 31 of 2018 with 665.796 million weekly impressions at fifth place. Star Plus was ranked fifth in BARC’s weekly lists of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and was ranked first in HSM (U). Director’s Kut Productions produced Hindi soap Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai aired on Star Plus was in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U).

    Zeel’s FTA Hindi GEC Zee Anmol dropped two places to sixth rank in week 31 of 2018 with 653.951 million weekly impressions as compared to 674.957 million weekly impressions in week 30. Zee Anmol was also ranked third in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and was ranked first in HSM (R). Kumkum Bhagya aired on Zee Anmol was ranked fifth in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and was ranked first in HSM (R). Another soap from the channel, Mahek, was ranked fourth in HSM (R).

    Star India’s flagship Telugu GEC Star Maa also dropped two places in week 31 of 2018 to seventh place with 649.967 million weekly impressions as compared to 668.256 million weekly impressions in week 30. Star Maa was ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Telugu channels in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana market. Five programmes that were aired on Star Maa were present in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Telugu programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week.

    Another Star India FTA Hindi GEC Star Bharat was ranked eighth in week 31 of 2018 with 645.100 million weekly impressions compared to seventh rank and 652.260 million weekly impressions in week 30.     Viacom18’s flagship Hindi GEC Colors was ranked ninth in week 31 of 2018 with 630.498 million weekly impressions as compared to eighth rank and 632.332 million weekly impressions in week 30. Colors was ranked sixth in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs’ in HSM (U+R) and was ranked second in HSM (U). Naagin 3  found the top place while the reality show Dance Deewane was ranked fourth in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R).     BENGALURU:  Zee Entertainment Entertainment Enterprises Limited (Zeel) flagship Hindi GEC Zee TV was ranked third in Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC) weekly list of top 10 channels across genres (across genres list) in week 30 of 2018 (Saturday, 21st July 2018 to Friday, 27th July 2018, week or period under review). Preceding it were the Sun TV Network’s flagship Tamil GEC Sun TV at the pole position and Sony Pictures Network India (SPN) Hindi Movies channel at second rank. This made Zee TV the most watched Hindi GEC in week 30 of 2019. The channels in BARC’s weekly across genres list in week 30 were same as in week 29 of 2018 with some changes in the ranks.

    Like last week, there were eight Hindi channels and one channel each from the Tamil GEC and Telugu GEC genres in week 30 of 2018. Six of the Hindi channels were Hindi GEC and two were Hindi Movies channels. There were three channels each from Star India and SPN, two channels from Zeel and one channel each from the Sun TV Network and Viacom18.

    As mentioned above, Sun TV led the across the genres list in week 30 with 1,048.709 million weekly impressions in week 30 as compared to 1,071.451 million weekly impressions in week 29 of 2018. Sun TV also led BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Tamil channels in the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry market and all the 5 programmes in BARC’s list of top 5 Tamil programmes during primetime in these markets based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week under review were aired on Sun TV.

    At second rank was Sony Max with 737.406 million weekly impressions in week 30 as compared to 746.904 million weekly impressions in week 29 of 2018. The channel was also the most watched channel in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi Movies channels in the combined urban and rural Hindi speaking market – HSM (U+R), as well is in HSM (U). In HSM (R) Sony Max was ranked fifth in the Hindi Movies genre. Hindi feature films (HFF) that featured on Sony Max –Tiger Zinda Hai led BARC’s top 5 most watched Hindi Movies programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U). Another HFF the Aamir Khan starring – PK was also among the top 5 Hindi Movies programmes during primetime in HSM (U).

    Zee TV climbed up two ranks to third place in week 30 of 2018 with 675.605 million weekly impressions as compared to 649.355 million weekly impressions in week 29 of 2018. Zee TV was ranked fourth in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs’ in HSM (U+R), third in HSM (U) and seventh in HSM (R) during the week.     At fourth rank in week 30 of 2018 was Zeel’s free to air (FTA) Hindi GEC Zee Anmol with 674.957 million weekly impressions as compared to third rank and 717.589 million weekly impressions in week 29. Zee Anmol was also ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs’ in HSM (U+R) as also in HSM (R). The Balaji Telefilms produced soap Kumkum Bhagya aired on Zee Anmol was ranked  fourth in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and was ranked first in HSM (R). Another soap from the channel, Mahek, was ranked third in HSM (R).

Star Bharat was ranked third in BARC’s list of top 10 Hindi channels in HSM (U+R) was ranked fourth in HSM (R) and was ranked sixth in HSM (U) in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GEC channels during the week under review.

    Viacom18’s flagship Hindi GEC Colors was ranked eighth in week 30 of 2018 with 632.232 million weekly impressions in week 30 of 2018 as compared to 636.700 million weekly impressions in week 29. Colors was ranked fifth in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs’ in HSM (U+R) and was ranked first in HSM (U). Naagin 3 found the top place in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U), while Naagin 3 was ranked fourth in HSM (R). Another programme on Colors – the reality show Dance Deewane was ranked fourth in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U).

    Retaining its previous week’s eight rank was SPN’s women focused Hindi GEC Sony Pal with 605.714 million weekly impressions in week 30 as compared to 590.263 million weekly impressions in week 29 of 2018. Sony Pal was ranked sixth in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi channels in HSM (U+R), was ranked third in HSM (R) and was ranked eighth in HSM (U). The sitcom Tarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah aired on Sony Pal was ranked second in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (R).

    Also at its previous week’s tenth rank was another SPN Hindi Movies channel Sony Wah with 600.781 million weekly impressions in week 30 as compared to 584.938 million weekly impressions in week 29 of 2018.     BENGALURU: There were three channels each from Sony Pictures Network India (SPN) and Star India in Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC) list of top 10 channels across list for week 27 of 2018 (Saturday, 30 June 2018 to Friday, 6 July 2018, week under review or consideration). Besides channels from these two networks, there were two channels from Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Zeel) and one channel each from the Sun TV Network Ltd and Viacom18.

    From the genres perspective, six channels from the Hindi GEC genre, two channels from the Hindi movies genre and one channel each from the Tamil and Telugu genres made up BARC’s weekly list of top 10 channels across genres (across genres list) in week 27 of 2018.

    Following almost a set norm, (except during IPL weeks), the Sun Network’s flagship Tamil GEC Sun TV led the across the genres list in week 27 with 947.652 million weekly impressions as compared to 975.210 million weekly impressions. Sun TV also led BARC’s weekly list of top five Tamil channels in the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry market and all the five programmes in BARC’s list of top five Tamil programmes during primetime in these markets based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week were aired on Sun TV.

    As has been the case over the past few weeks, at second place was Zeel’s free to air (FTA) Hindi GEC Zee Anmol with 700.502 million impressions in week 27 as compared to 722.587 million weekly impressions in week 26 of 2018. Zee Anmol was also ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in the combined urban and rural Hindi speaking markets or HSM (U+R) as also in HSM (R). The Balaji Telefilms-produced soap Kumkum Bhagya aired on Zee Anmol was ranked  second in BARC’s list of top five Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and was ranked first in HSM (R).     Continuing to retain its third rank was Zeel’s flagship Hindi GEC Zee TV with 652.386 million weekly impressions in week 27 as compared to 620.339 million weekly impressions in week 26 of 2018. As in the previous week Zee TV was ranked second in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs’ in HSM (U+R), second in HSM (U) and sixth in HSM (R) during the week under review .Two programmes that were aired on Zee TV- Kundali Bhagya, a spinoff of Kumkum Bhagya, was ranked third and Kumkum Bhagya was ranked fourth in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U). Kundali Bhagya was also ranked fifth in HSM (R) in BARC’s lists of top five Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week. In the HSM (U) market, Kumkum Bhagya and another soap Ishq Subhan Allah on Zee TV were ranked third and fifth respectively during the week under consideration.

    Also retaining its fourth rank was SPN’s Hindi movies channel Sony Max with 626.781 million weekly impressions in week 27 of 2018 as compared to 608.165 million weekly impressions in week 26. Sony Max was also ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top five Hindi novies channels in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U) and was ranked fifth in HSM (R). The Hindi feature films (HFF) Bahubali the Beginning and Kanchana that were aired on the channel were ranked second and third respectively in BARC’s list of top five Hindi movies programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U). Another film, Sooryavansham was ranked fourth in HSM (U) in the same top programmes list.

    The viewership of the third season of the Balaji Telefilms produced Naagin and the dance show Dance Deewane continued to help Viacom18’s flagship Hindi GEC Colors retain fifth place with 576.642 million weekly impressions in week 27 as compared to 589.944 million weekly impressions in week 26 of 2018. Colors was ranked fourth in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and was ranked first in HSM (U). Naagin 3 and Dance Deewane found places in BARC’s weekly list of top five Hindi GECs during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U), while Naagin 3 was ranked fourth in HSM (R).

    Dropping down two ranks to eighth place was Star India’s FTA Hindi GEC Star Bharat with 551.302 million weekly impressions in week 27 of 2018 as compared to sixth rank with 571.450 million weekly impressions in week 26. Star Bharat was ranked fifth in BARC’s list of top 10 Hindi channels in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R) and was ranked sixth in HSM (U).

    Another SPN Hindi movies channel Sony Wah re-entered BARC’s across genres list at ninth rank in week 27 of 2018 with 526.551 million weekly impressions. Sony Wah was ranked second in BARC’s weekly list of top five Hindi movies channels in HSM (U+R), first in HSM (U) and was ranked fifth in HSM (U). HFFs’ Rowdy Rathore and Yevadu from the channel were ranked second and fifth most watched Hindi movies programmes based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in the HSM (R) market.

Zeel’s free to air (FTA) Hindi GEC Zee Anmol was ranked second and the network’s flagship Hindi GEC Zee TV was ranked second in across genres list for week 25 of 2018. Like in the previous week, the first rank in the list was held by the regular occupier of the slot – the Sun TV Network’s flagship Tamil GEC Sun TV.

    Behind Sun TV, Zee Anmol and Zee TV topped six Hindi GECs, two channels from the Telugu genre and one channel each from the Hindi movies and the Tamil genre in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 channels across genres during the week under review. Colors was ranked fourth in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and was ranked first in HSM (U). Naagin 3 and Dance Deewane found places in BARC’s weekly list of top five Hindi GECs during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U), while Naagin 3 was ranked fourth in HSM (R).

    At sixth place was Star India’s FTA Hindi GEC Star Bharat with 571.450 million weekly impressions in week 26 as compared to seventh rank and 574.692 million weekly impressions in week 25 of 2018. Star Bharat was ranked third in BARC’s list of top 10 Hindi channels in HSM (U+R); ranked third in HSM (U) and was ranked fifth in HSM (R).

    At seventh rank was SPN’s women focused Hindi GEC Sony Pal with 542.828 million weekly impressions in week 26 as compared to rank four and 601.848 million weekly impressions in week 25 of 2018. Sony Pal was ranked fifth and was ranked second in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi channels in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R) respectively and was ranked seventh in HSM (U).     Star India’s flagship Hindi GEC Star Plus re-entered BARC’s across genres weekly list in week 26 of 2018 at eighth rank with 531.658 million weekly impressions. Star Plus was ranked sixth in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi channels in HSM (U+R) and was ranked third in HSM (U). The Indian musical television series Kulfi Kumar Bajewala which aired on Star Plus was ranked fifth in BARC’s list of top five Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U).

    Star India’s flagship Telugu GEC Star Maa was ranked ninth in week 26 with 528.706 million weekly impressions as compared to eighth rank and 520.024 million weekly impressions in week 25 of 2018. Star Maa was ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top five Telugu channels in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana market. Three programmes that were aired on Star Maa were present in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 five Telugu programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week.

    Zeel’s flagship Telugu GEC Zee Telugu was ranked tenth in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 channels across genre list with 509.048 million weekly impressions in week 26 as compared to ninth rank with 519.127 million weekly impressions in week 25 of 2018. Zee Telugu was ranked second in BARC’s weekly list of top five Telugu channels in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana market.     BENGALURU: Two Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Zeel) channels were ranked second and third in Broadcast Audience Research Council’s (BARC) weekly list of top 10 channels across genres in week 25 of 2018 (Saturday, 16 June 2018 to Friday, 22 June 2018, week under review). Zeel’s free to air (FTA) Hindi GEC Zee Anmol was ranked second and the network’s flagship Hindi GEC Zee TV was ranked second in across genres list for week 25 of 2018. The first rank in the list was held by the regular occupier of the slot – the Sun TV Network’s flagship Tamil GEC Sun TV.

    Five Hindi GECs, two channels each from the Hindi movies and Telugu genres and one channel from the Tamil genre made it to BARC’s weekly list of top 10 channels across genres during the week under review. From the networks’ perspective, there were three channels each from the Sony Pictures Network India (SPN) and Zeel stables, two channels from Star India and one channel each from the Sun TV Network and Viacom18.

    Sun TV held onto its last week’s rank of number one with 946.455 million weekly impressions in week 25 as compared to 929.515 million weekly impressions in week 24 of 2018. Further, Sun TV also was ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top five Tamil channels in the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry markets and all the programmes in BARC’s weekly list of top five Tamil programmes in these markets during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week were aired on Sun TV.

    At second place was Zee Anmol with 747.590 million weekly impressions in week 25 of 2018 as compared to 774.331 million weekly impressions in the previous week. Zee Anmol was also ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in the combined urban and rural Hindi speaking markets or HSM (U+R) as also in HSM (R). The Balaji Telefilms-produced soap Kumkum Bhagya aired on Zee Anmol was ranked fourth in BARC’s list of top five Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and was ranked first in HSM (R). Another soap from the channel, Mahek, was ranked second in HSM (R).

    Climbing up two places to third rank was Zee TV with 606.439 million weekly impressions in week 25 as compared to fifth rank and 587.742 million weekly impressions in week 24 of 2018. Zee TV was ranked third in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R), second in HSM (U) and sixth in HSM (R). Two programmes that were aired on Zee TV- Kundali Bhagya, a spinoff of Kumkum Bhagya was ranked second and Kumkum Bhagya was ranked third in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U). Kundali Bhagya was also ranked fourth in HSM (R) in BARC’s list of top five Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week.

Sony Wah was ranked second and fifth in BARC’s weekly list of top five Hindi movies channels in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R). HFF Sultan was ranked first in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R). Two more films that were aired on the channel – Yevadu 2 and Dangerous Khiladi 4 were ranked second and fifth respectively in HSM (R).
