    Premiered last Friday, the show promises a riot of irreverent humour as Cyrus skewers the week’s biggest headlines alongside the quirkiest tales from politics, entertainment, lifestyle and beyond. The format blends sharp commentary with his trademark comic timing, ensuring viewers get their news served sunny-side-up, with a generous sprinkle of wit.

    The buzz began at the ‘News9 Global Summit’ in Dubai this June, where Cyrus set the stage alight with his trademark banter and News9 officially unveiled the show. Speaking about the launch, Cyrus quipped, “Nobody knows if news is serious or not anymore, and it’s not my fault, that’s why I do Newscaustic. So please check it out on News9!”

    The first season airs every Friday at 11:00 pm on News9, with repeats across the weekend, and will also be available on connected, linear and OTT platforms. Adding to the fun, an on-ground edition of Newscaustic will be staged on October 4 at Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir in Bandra, Mumbai, with tickets starting at Rs 499.

    Mumbai: Cyrus Broacha, the iconic talkative personality who has entertained audiences since the ’90s, was on top of his witty and sarcastic best in the debut episode of the brand-new podcast, “Bluntly Streaming.” Inside the cracking 21-minute of the episode hosted by Sumedha Malhotra, the original “Bakra Boy of India” offered an unexpected apology that set off a series of thumbs up for him on social media.

    Broacha’s humor has always been known for its sharp wit and satirical edge. In the same spirit, his recent comparison of Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, to an Indian politician left the twitter world rolling in laughter. This unusual pairing can only be Broacha’s brainchild 🙂 As candid as he can be, he also is compassionate and recounted how he once felt compelled to apologize to Kapil Dev, acknowledging that his words could be misinterpreted.

    The incident belongs to a time when Cyrus’ Dad, the renowned lawyer Mr. Broacha, who he recently lost, had reprimanded him. He’d apparently warned Cyrus to stay away from insulting and demeaning a legend like Kapil Dev in any way whatsoever. The joke was supposed to be humorous and satirical, but Cyrus understood that it may have been misinterpreted by many people who saw it. “Mr. Kapil Dev’s contributions to cricket and his country are immense and they deserve nothing but respect from me and everyone else on this planet. I deeply regret any offence my comments may have caused.” He approached Kapil Dev.

    The aftermath of the apology left fans and the media in suspense, appreciating his down to earth demeanour. Amidst all this, Broacha continued to do what he does best – making people laugh and scratch their heads. His most recent suggestion to shut down the internet for six months is just one of his many absurd propositions.     MTV India and Center Fruit team up to launch ‘Comedy Base Camp’

    Mumbai: There is nothing in this world as mood uplifting as a laugh or good sense of humor. Keeping this as the crux, MTV India has partnered with Perfetti Van Melle India’s (PVMI) gum brand Center Fruit –  to announce a talent hunt for the world’s highest-ever comedy show to be held near Mount Everest Base Camp in 2022.

    As a part of the association facilitated by Wavemaker, MTV India and Center Fruit launch a co-branded comedy talent hunt show starting 20 July. Hosted by the quick-witted Cyrus Broacha, the episodes will go on air on television later this year.

    Scheduled to be promoted extensively on MTV India’s and Center Fruit’s official digital assets, the talent hunt will give viewers a chance to send in their entries to participate in the show, the channel said in a statement. Of all the entries received, selected five candidates will get an opportunity to trek to the base camp and compete for the winning title in the 2022 grand finale which will air on MTV India. The ultimate winner will receive the trophy as well as cash prizes, it added.

    MUMBAI: IVM Podcasts, India’s premier podcast network announced that its popular show, Cyrus Says will now have its own official skill on Amazon Alexa. Listeners of Cyrus Says can now play the popular podcast on their Amazon Echo or any Alexa-enabled device with the convenience of voice.

    Hosted by the inimitable Cyrus Broacha, the show covers various elements of life in urban India including politics, sports, civic sense, traffic, kids, food and a host of other themes. This cricket season tune in to LANSO (Left-Arm-Not-So-Orthodox) – a topical edition of his podcast that airs every Wednesday by just saying “Alexa, talk to me about cricket”.

    MUMBAI: Hyundai Motor India, India car exporter and second largest passenger car manufacturer, received an overwhelming response for its first-of-its-kind innovative digital campaign ‘Comebackpedia’ on the newly launched 2017 Grand i10. The campaign claimed to have garnered over 6.7 million views across social media. Based on humour, around 10,400 interesting Memes were generated by users and shared on social networking sites.
