    Shayondeep Pal to head creative at Lowe Lintas Bangalore

    Mumbai: Lowe Lintas has announced the appointment of Shayondeep Pal as a regional creative officer. Pal will work out of the agency’s Bangalore office and manage some of the flagship brands of the agency from the South region. The appointment is effective immediately, the agency said in a statement.

    Most recently, he led the creative campaigns for Surf Excel, Wheel, Vim, UltraTech and Nestle EveryDay. In his new role, Pal will strengthen the creative output of the agency’s Bangalore office working on brands like Tanishq, Swiggy, Unacademy and Fastrack, among others.

    In this role, Pal will report to Lowe Lintas CCO Sagar Kapoor.

     Commenting on Pal’s new role in the agency, Sagar Kapoor said, “Shayondeep (Shayon, as we fondly refer to him) has led the Lowe Delhi office in the past. He has worked on a diverse mix of brands across categories. Both his wisdom and creative talent will definitely take Lowe Lintas South to newer heights. I am excited about our partnership and along with him and the teams, hope to create some stunning work very soon.”

    Pal’s advertising career began about 24 years ago with a chance stint as a trainee writer at McCann-Erickson, having trained as a journalist after a post-graduate course at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication. In his first stint with Lowe Lintas between 2008 and 2015, he worked on brands such as Micromax, OLX, Hindustan Times, Havells and Maruti-Suzuki. Under his watch, Lowe Lintas has won numerous awards including the coveted Cannes and Effies, among others. Previously, he has also worked with Grey Group on brands like Halonix, Dominos and Greenlam and with Network Advertising as its CCO. He had also founded Amorphous Films where he worked on brands like Quikr, Havells, Gionee and Aegon Life.

    Talking about his new role, Pal said, “I am looking forward to an exciting phase in my advertising career. I am thrilled to be part of the team that created stellar work on some of the most iconic brands.”

    L&K Saatchi & Saatchi appoints Avinash Jakhalekar as group creative director

    Mumbai: Integrated business and brand growth agency L&K Saatchi & Saatchi has appointed Avinash Jakhalekar as group creative director. In this role, he will be based out of Mumbai and report to L&K Saatchi & Saatchi jt NCD Kartik Smetacek, the agency said on Tuesday.

    Over his 14-year professional career stint, Jakhalekar has worked across Lowe Lintas, Publicis Ambience, DDB Mudra and Network Advertising in various creative roles. After spending three years at Network Advertising, he moved on to DDB Mudra where he managed creatives on brands like Top Gear & Lavasa. His next career move was with Publicis Ambience as senior creative director – art where he worked on brands like Zee TV, Nerolac, Skoda, Citibank, SonyLIV, Brand Factory etc. He then moved on to Lowe Lintas where he was associated with brands like Mumbai Indians, Ultra Tech, Jameson Whiskey, ICICI Pru, Freecharge etc.

    Welcoming him to the agency, Kartik Smetacek said, “Avinash embodies the perfect qualities that I look for in creative person – equal parts talent, energy and resilience.     Some of his work for brands like Lions Club, Yolo Homes, Natural Ice-cream, Zee TV etc. have gone on to win accolades at prominent award festivals like Goafest Abby, Effie India etc.

    Mumbai: dentsu India has announced the appointment of Arjuna Gaur as chief creative officer (CCO), dentsu Webchutney and dentsuMB. Both agencies are part of dentsu Creative India that brings together creative, digital and PR under one umbrella.

    In his new role, Gaur will work toward expanding the creative mandate for both agencies. He will lead creative thought leadership across the network and combine the expertise of dentsu Webchutney and dentsuMB to deliver future-forward creative solutions for clients, said the agency in a statement.

    Gaur will report to dentsu Creative India group chief creative officer India (GCCO) Ajay Gahlaut. “It is a privilege to have yet another brilliant creative onboard as part of the team. Arjuna is a rare creative person who is equally adept at traditional and new-age media,” said Gahlaut on the new appointment. “He has added great value to the brands that he has been associated with. We are looking forward to him significantly raising the creative quality of our output and adding even more value to the solutions that we provide to our clients.”

    With more than 16 years of experience, Gaur has won over 40 national and international awards. Prior to this, he has held creative leadership roles at agencies like Leo Burnett India, MNC Saatchi Kuala Lumpur, BBDO India, and Grey. In his professional journey thus far, Gaur has worked with brands such as Coca-Cola, Amazon, P&G, PepsiCo, Wrigley’s, Celcom, Airtel, GE India, HP, Apple, Volkswagen, Deutsche Bank and Spotify amongst others. He has also worked with teams that have produced some of the best campaigns of the decade. He has been a filmmaker with Equinox Films, and is a multi-instrumental musician and collector of vintage computer hardware.

    Rediffusion elevates Pramod Sharma to national creative director

    Mumbai: Rediffusion has fostered its creative leadership by elevating Pramod Sharma to the position of national creative director. He earlier served as executive creative director at the agency’s Mumbai office.

    In his new role, Sharma will lead the creative team and drive the next phase of growth for multiple brands under the Rediffusion umbrella with a focus on further cementing the creative value proposition across all disciplines – creative, media, health, digital and design, said the statement.

    Sharma joined Rediffusion seven years ago and has played a pivotal role in some of its acclaimed work, especially for State Bank Of India, SAB TV, Parle Products, PGIM, Exide, TVS Tyres, Shyam Steel and creation of investor education campaigns for Nippon India Mutual Fund. This is his second innings at the agency.

    He has been credited with the creation of the iconic ‘Tata Motors Ace Gold Campaign.’

    Mumbai: Havas Creative Group India, the creative conglomerate of Havas Group India has named Samarpita Banerjee as director of marketing & communications. She will be based out of Mumbai and report to Havas Group India chief marketing officer Pritha Dasgupta.

    Banerjee will work across all agencies of Havas Creative Group India, including Havas Worldwide, Havas CX, Think Design, Conran Design Group Mumbai, and Shobiz Havas Experiential. Sneha Pillai Ahuja, senior manager – marketing & communications, will continue to lead corporate communications of Havas Media Group India.

In her last assignment as Business Insider’s deputy editor, she set up a new vertical for the publication to bring to life engaging stories from the world of advertising, media, and marketing.

    “Having interacted with some of the best global and Indian minds in advertising, marketing, and media over the last six years, I wanted to experience the ad world from even closer quarters,” said Banerjee on her new role. “I have been following Havas Group India and its progress work for a long time.     Havas Worldwide names Jigisha Chawla as EVP for Gurgaon office

    Mumbai: Havas Worldwide, the creative arm of Havas Group India has appointed Jigisha Chawla as executive vice president for its Gurgaon office. She will report to Havas Worldwide (Creative) managing director Manas Lahiri and will work across key clients of the office.

    Havas Worldwide (Creative) Gurgaon is one of the biggest operations of the agency in India, with over 100 employees, according to the conglomerate. Apart from its biggest client Reckitt, the unit also manages some of India’s leading brands including Dabur, William Grant, Suzuki, Fortis Healthcare, and several others. 

    Over the last three years, the Gurgaon office has bagged several new clients including Stashfin, Renewbuy, Vivo, Jimmy’s Cocktails, Info Edge, and several others, said the statement.

    “With the exponential growth of the Gurgaon unit, we are focussed on beefing up our senior leadership and our product,” Manas Lahiri said. “Jigisha will play a pivotal role in enhancing and strengthening our client relationships and widening our product portfolio.”

She has led many integrated teams and brings substantial global project management experience on board.

    MUMBAI: Microblogging and social networking giant Twitter has elevated Preetha Athrey as director of global business marketing, APAC. Previously, she was heading marketing at Twitter India. Athrey replaces Disha Goenka, who is now taking on a global role leading regional business marketing teams overseeing marketing strategies across Asia, Latin America, Europe, and North America.

    Both Athrey and Goenka took to the microblogging site to share the development.

    PaperBoat rolls out its summer campaign with fresh new flavours

    Mumbai:- Packaged beverage brand PaperBoat has rolled out its first campaign for the summer. The campaign conceptualised by The Script Room, showcases the various flavours of PaperBoat Swing. The agency was named as the beverage brand’s creative partner recently following an account win.

    The ad film, set in a heart-warming setting, sees a couple of children working up a cosplay of a lemonade stand, where they are serving the refreshing flavours of the drink to their mother. 

    The campaign will be seen on television and digitally as well. 

    “This is a new variant of Paper Boat. And we felt that it would be best to now just introduce ourselves and our offering to the world. The task was to continue to keep the innocence and simplicity that the brand is known for. And still infuse it with some newness. We’re delighted with the outcome. It’s always been a great pleasure to work on Paper Boat,” The Script Room co-founder and the director of the film Ramsam (Rajesh Ramaswamy) said, speaking about the campaign.
