    Mumbai: Promax India is back with its 20th edition of Promax India Conference and Awards 2022 to be held in Mumbai on the 10-11 August, 2022 with workshops, sessions, one-to-one engagement with the speakers and honouring the best at the most awaited Promax India Awards 2022.

    Amazon Prime Video India head Aparna Purohit is the Awards Chair for this year.

    For Promax India, this year marks a milestone as it completes 20 remarkable years of honouring the best brands for their creativity, innovation, and storytelling. The coveted Promax India Awards introduced new additions this year. Some of the new categories include Best Static Image, Best Voice-Over Performance, and Best Social Media Content.

    Additionally, brands will also compete for The Creative Brand of the Year category.

    Some of the best minds in the industry will be hosting workshops titled, “The New Promo 10 Commandments” with the popular Rob Middleton, mentor-holding little promotions and marketing hands all across Asia for almost three decades now.

His mantra: what do you need to do to give your story the power to push through and to bring your audience with you on the journey?

    The essential masterclass session for all broadcast marketing professionals—whether new to writing briefs or looking for time-saving tips and hacks—is being presented by The Brief Doctor: Tim Hughes. His session explains how to maximise creative output by focussing on audience needs and business goals by setting a simple and effective creative strategy and managing through stakeholders.

    Some of the sessions to look out for are by well-known speakers – Trailer Voice Artists Agency owner Brent Hagel, Lee Hunt LLC founder Lee Hunt, Comedy Central voiceover artist Rahul Mulani, FX Network EVP marketing and on-air Stephanie Gibbons.

    Dentsu Creative India names Sudhir Das as executive creative director

    MUMBAI: Dentsu Creative India has announced the appointment of Sudhir Das as executive creative director (ECD). He will report into Dentsu Webchutney & dentsuMB chief creative officer (CCO) Arjuna Gaur.

    In his new role, Das will oversee and strengthen the creative capabilities of the agency’s Bengaluru office, further leveraging the power of ‘Modern Creativity’ across brands, according to the agency.

    Armed with two decades of experience, Das has won over 50 national and international awards. Prior to this, he was with Leo Burnett as an associate executive creative director (AECD). In his previous roles, he has worked with brands like Coca-Cola, Nestle, Apple and Airtel, to name a few. His notable campaigns include ‘Ras-Ras mein India’, ‘Me and Meri Maggi’, ‘Spicejet Democracy’ and ‘Cardekho Back-Off’ – covering the gamut from large, populist, TV-led campaigns to documentary-style film-making to super-technical experiments marrying cars and music.

    Speaking on the appointment, Arjuna Gaur said, “Sudhir Das is an experienced creative leader with some of the world’s biggest brands in his portfolio.     Dentsu Intl onboards broadcast vet Robert Gilby as APAC CEO

    MUMBAI: His is a familiar face with the entire media and entertainment industry in India. More so in the broadcast sector, Singapore-based Rob Gilby – who is well-known for his fancy moves on the dance floor as he is for building organisations in Asia – will be joining Dentsu International as its APAC CEO come 5 September 2022. He will report to Dentsu International global CEO Wendy Clark.

    Rob has been mandated with overseeing the 11,600-strong Dentsu army of ad folks in 18 markets. He is stepping into the agency at a time when it has rolled out Dentsu Creative worldwide following accolades like it being awarded as the APAC regional network of the year and Dentsu Creative India being recognised as the global agency of the year at the recently concluded Cannes Lions. The agency has also been showing some fancy results with growths of 4.7 per cent in FY’21 and 5.2 per cent in Q1 2022.

He has a proven track-record of growing profitable businesses including WarnerMedia and The Walt Disney Co, with extensive experience in markets including Australia, China, India, Southeast Asia and Singapore.

    He joins dentsu from Nielsen where he is President, APAC responsible for building relationships with key media owners, brands and agencies to deliver audience insights across the media ecosystem. Prior to that he was CEO & founder, Blue Hat Ventures, an investment and advisory firm focussed on identifying and commercialising high-growth businesses in the digital media sector in Asia Pacific. He has held non-executive board and advisory roles at the ministry of communications & Information, the InfoComm Media Development Authority and the Singapore Media Festival.

    Mumbai: DDB Mudra has announced the appointment of Manish Darji as head of Art – West. In his new role, Darji will lead the design mandate for the agency’s west office and will report to DDB Mudra creative head – West Pallavi Chakravarti.

    As part of his mandate, Darji will explore applications of craft in newer categories like digital, data, entertainment, and content. His appointment reinforces the Group’s commitment to craft at a time when visual storytelling is constantly evolving, said the agency in a statement. DDB’s unexpected works philosophy lays a strong emphasis on creating clutter-breaking work that drives results, and craft plays a crucial role in this advanced approach.

    In a career spanning two decades, Darji has worked on some of India’s leading brands like Coca-Cola, NDTV, Big Bazaar, Volkswagen, Marico, Viacom 18, Mondelez. He served as executive creative director and associate creative director at DDB Mudra in the year 2014 and 2010 respectively. He has also worked at BBH, McCann Erickson, Ogilvy, Rediffusion Y&R and Bates 141.

    Mumbai: BBH India, a Publicis Groupe agency, has announced the appointment of George Sebastian as executive creative director. He will report to BBH India’s chief creative officer & CEO Russell Barrett and lead a team of copy, art and design professionals.

    Sebastian brings with him 14 years of experience. In the past, he has been associated with Enormous Brands, Grey Group and most recently he was senior creative director at DDB Mudra. Sebastian has worked on brands like Gillette, Tanishq, Glance, Dell, McDowell’s No 1, Britannia, TTK Prestige, 3M and TicTac, helping them unlock their purpose and ambition.

    Sebastian was also part of the team that pitched, won and conceptualised an integrated campaign – India’s most exciting workplace for the Indian Army that led to a major shift in the way the youth perceive the armed forces, according to the agency.

    MUMBAI: Dentsu Creative group India has announced the appointment of Anu Gulati as executive creative director. In her new role, Gulati will work with the group’s key talents to further drive and strengthen the network’s creative capabilities, thereby enhancing the client’s market growth. She will be based out of the network’s Delhi office and will report into dentsu Creative group India group chief creative officer Ajay Gahlaut.

    Gulati brings with her over 15 years of experience in the industry. Earlier, she has held creative leadership positions at agencies like Ogilvy & Mather and DDB Mudra. In her previous roles, she has worked with brands like 7Up, McDonald’s, Sprite, KFC, Pizza Hut, Indian Tourism, UNICEF and WWF, to name a few.     Mumbai: CP Plus has signed Grapes Digital for its digital AOR mandate. The company has won the mandate following a multi-agency pitch and will service the account from its New Delhi office.

    As a result of this partnership, Grapes will look after the brand’s 360-degree digital presence, from social media creatives to digital campaigns. As per the mandate, the agency will be responsible for executing the digital duties of the brand, such as media planning and buying, creative and digital branding and strategy, and SEO. The collaboration is aimed at developing cohesive value for the brand with the help of earned initiatives.

    MUMBAI: 22feet Tribal Worldwide has announced the appointment of Vishnu Srivatsav as national creative director. Prior to this, he was the creative head of DDB Mudra’s South office. Srivatsav will take over from Debashish Ghosh, the former NCD at 22feet Tribal Worldwide, and will continue to report to DDB Mudra Group chief creative officer Rahul Mathew.

    Since his appointment at DDB Mudra in 2015, Srivatsav has led some of the Group’s award-winning campaigns. Under his leadership, DDB Mudra’s South office produced work such as Puma’s Suede Gully and Battlegrounds Mobile India’s Game Responsibly. These campaigns earned recognition at Cannes Lions 2018 and a Grand Prix at Spikes Asia 2022.

    Speaking on Srivatsav’s role elevation, Rahul Mathew said, “Vishnu has been a great partner to the organisation in our pursuit of creative excellence.     Mumbai: With the weekend upon us, IndianTelevision.com rolls over to the next in its series of informal, fun snippets that peek into the mind of corporate executives – akin to a virtual water cooler chat. An attempt to get to know the person behind the title a little better, by having them share their nuggets on life and their mantras to deal with the curveballs that life throws – not necessarily revolving around work life – and sometimes going beyond work.

    This week, we have on the hot seat the co-founder of DigiChefs- an independent creative agency based out of Mumbai. Deep Mehta calls himself a passion-driven entrepreneur who “helps startups scale their topline”. Having started the agency with his co-founder Marmik Ajmera in the later part of 2015, they have grown almost organically to a team size of 65 people in these six plus years and worked with over 300 clients.

    -A life lesson you learnt the hard way
    Never let success make you complacent. Always be on the lookout for potential falls and work towards minimising them. Learned this the hard way when we were so confident (a tad bit overconfident) of our sales skills, that we stopped sales once our bandwidths were exhausted for a good two months. This, instead of constantly nurturing leads in those months so that we could onboard projects once we do hire talent or complete older projects.

    -What gets you excited about life?
    The very fact is that you can make mistakes, and it’s completely okay, and, the sooner you fail, the faster you learn! You can only get better. This very thought gives me the confidence to keep taking bolder decisions and pick up more challenging work than we did yesterday.

    -What’s on top of your bucket list?
    Doing a Ski course in Gulmarg this coming winter.

    -If you could give one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be?
    When in doubt, ask for help without hesitating too much. There are some genuinely good people out there waiting to help!

    -One thing you would most like to change about the world
    One: End civil wars/ fights and 
    Two: Make people kinder towards the animals around us

    -An activity that keeps you motivated / charged during tough times
    Gardening! I have 76 plants at my home, and I take care of each of them.

    -What lifts your spirits when life gets you down?
    Talking to my best friend (and now my wife) Poonam.
