    New Delhi: The DAC awards 2016 titled as the ICE Awards (Indian Creative Excellence), was held recently at The Ashok Hotel New Delhi with much fan fare and excitement befitting a grand award ceremony.

    The award is instituted to acknowledge and reward creative excellence in advertising in all forms of communication.

    Started 40 years back with a modest number of 25 people as founders and under the able leadership of Mr. V. K. Chopra the chief patron, DAC has come a fairly long way and has grown leaps and bounds. For the first time in the history of DAC Awards, a special section was created for Made in India agencies along with multi-national agencies. Mr. V. K. Chopra announced that this year saw a record number of entries which was very encouraging, and at the same breath he also announced that DAC wishes to take this award to SAARC countries as well.

    The advertising agencies were vying for awards in 48 different categories in Print, Electronic and Social/Digital Media. The evening turned out to be a fantastic event unlike others as the entire work of all the agencies were showcased in the do. It was a buzzing evening with the breeze of healthy competition in the air. The agencies came out in great number to support and cheer their entries. The excitement took over and it and it was shouts and howls all over. They all were cheering for each other. The event witnessed Vermillion Communications walking away with maximum number of awards. Close on their heels was Span communication. Agencies like HS AD, Omni Media, Herald, Crayons, Innocean Worldwide, Span, I Broad 7, Reprise, Interactive, Magnon Eg+ and more witnessed the grand award ceremony at The Ashok Hotel.     Goldmine Advertising bags MTNL Account

    NEW DELHI: Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited, the state-owned telecommunications service provider, has appointed Goldmine advertising to handle its creative and media duties.

    The multi-agency pitch process began in early 2012. The agency‘s Delhi office will service the brand, which plans to strengthen its presence in the country.

    The mandate was won after a multi agency pitch which included Percept, Concept and Graphic ads also participated in this pitch process.

    Speaking on this occasion, Goldmine Advertising regional director Rajindra Singla said, “We are happy to announce our association with MTNL which is one of the leaders in telecommunication. Today, with the presence of so many players in this sector, it will be a challenge for us to increase the brand equity that it has enjoyed amongst its customers.”

    Other agencies who have also been empanelled for creative and media duties with MTNL are Span, Airads and Crayons.

  • Crayons wins Saab India creative biz

    MUMBAI: Saab India has appointed Crayons Communications Group as its new creative agency. The agency will execute all requirements on brand communications including print advertising, events and online advertising with the exception of television commercials.

    Crayons was chosen after a rigorous selection process and comprehensive evaluation on an extensive set of evolved parameters. Crayons brings on board extensive experience and critical appreciation of defence processes, key influencers and safety and security concepts within the creative domain for India market.

    Saab India head of market area India and chairman Lars-Olof Lindgren said, “Crayons is expected to facilitate creation of a distinct market space for Saab and establish its presence with all stakeholders in India. With this new creative partner on board, Saab will be well equipped for handling the creative translations and innovation requirements for India market.”

    Crayons Communications Group president Ranjan Bargotra said, “It will be a unique experience for all of us at Crayons to work within the growing defence and security sector, in which Saab is a multi-billion dollar player.     Innocean Worldwide bags creative duties of Sleepwell

    MUMBAI: Mattress and comfort accessories brand, Sleepwell, has roped in the Korean-agency network, Innocean Worldwide, to handle its creative mandate. 
     
    Rediffusion Y&R Worldwide is the incumbent agency.

    The account size is pegged at Rs 120 to 150 million.
     
    The mandate was awarded to Innocean, following a multi-agency pitch, which involved agencies such as Mudra, Everest, Crayons, Infinity, Triton, Apple and Vermillion.

    Sleepwell is owned by Sheela Foam Industries, which is aiming to take its communication strategy to the next level.
     
    The company‘s retail presence is being ramped up nationwide and retail branding is being standardised along with a new look to the product packaging.
