    Republic TV rejigs top leadership, names Darius Maneckji as business head

    Mumbai: Republic Media Network has bolstered its business team with the elevation of Hersh Bhandari as group chief operating officer – broadcasting division and appointment of Darius Maneckji as business head for Republic TV and senior executive vice president.

    In his new role, Bhandari will oversee the entire national operations for all existing broadcast channels of the network. Maneckji will now lead the entire expansive national operations for Republic TV, including the channel’s offices in Bengaluru, Noida, Gurgaon, Kolkata and Mumbai. He will report to Hersh Bhandari, announced the network in a statement on Wednesday.

    With 24 years of experience, Bhandari is a well-established industry veteran with hefty achievements. With his impeccable record, he will also lead and strategise all future growth of the network’s broadcasting business into languages and regions. “Bhandari will manage the entire broadcast business operations from the network’s offices in Noida and Mumbai,” the media company said.

    “At Republic Media Network, we continue to consolidate and strengthen ourselves with speed for the growth that beckons us,” said Hersh Bhandari. “I am energised by the trust reposed in me by the board, management, and my colleagues, to help shape and deliver the next phase of growth. We think and move as one, shoulder-to-shoulder.”

    With over 20 years of experience, dominantly in leadership positions, Maneckji has a well-respected and robust record in the media. He has been the national sales head in the past for Times Now and also the national sales head for the English movie cluster at Turner International India. Before onboarding with Republic TV, his last assignment was with TV Today.  “I am excited to join India’s fastest-growing news network. I look forward to working with one of the best teams in the business to ensure we continue to command and establish our leadership role in the English news genre,” said Darius Maneckji.

    Republic Media Network is expanding its broadcasting operations and will be making more announcements in the coming weeks. “The induction of strong business talent is part of the expansion of the network and creation of a strong organizational base to take the plans forward,” added Goswami.

    SoCheers scales up leadership team with key elevations

    Mumbai: SoCheers, a digital-first full-service advertising agency has elevated some of its core team members across verticals, namely content and brand experience. The newly elevated members will now be a part of the senior management team, playing a pivotal role in the decision-making process, said the agency.

    Shivani Kamdar, who completed seven years with the agency this month, has been elevated from the head of content to associate creative director. In this new role, she will be extending major support to all creative departments, with a core focus on growing the teams, harnessing talent and helping cultivate bigger and more meaningful campaigns for the clients. Keeping a business-centric approach, she will add value to the top as well as the bottom line through her initiatives.

    Tanvi Bosmia, who has been associated with SoCheers for more than eight years, was elevated from the position of group account manager to associate account director of the brand experience team. She will be handling the overall clientele of the agency, in charge of bringing in more revenue from a business point of view.

    Aakash Gopalani, who was the account supervisor, has now been appointed as the group account manager in the brand experience team. He will be handling the client communications along with managing a team of 20+ account management professionals. He will also be leading the strategic initiatives of 15+ brands’ digital presence, followed by exploring newer revenue streams for the organisation.

    “Whether it’s client management or content development, each of these newly elevated individuals bring something unique to the table with their wide-ranging industry experience,” said SoCheers co-founder and CEO Mehul Gupta. “As we look forward to expanding our client base, catering to brands across different industries like finance, FMCG and D2C, and onboarding new talent this year, these elevations will be instrumental in achieving our target of 75 per cent growth in 2022.”

    Samsung India announces top level organisational rejig

    Mumbai: Samsung on Wednesday announced key organisational changes in India to generate more synergies amongst its various businesses as the company further expands its footprint in the country.

    Three new teams are being created to improve operational synergies and consumer experiences. In that direction, the company has appointed CH Choi as the new division leader for the consumer electronics business, while Jinsock Lee will be the division leader for the network business and will be based in Mumbai. Jongbum Park will continue to be the division leader for the mobile business.

    Mohandeep Singh will be new head – sales, marketing and operations for the consumer electronics business, while Raju Pullan will be the new head – sales and retail for the mobile business. Aditya Babbar will lead product marketing for the mobile business.

    The managing director of Samsung R&D Institute Bangalore Dipesh Shah will also head a newly created India Customer Experience (ICX) and business strategy team to create multiple device experience for Indian consumers.

    The new direct-to-customer team will be headed by Sumit Walia. Walia will also lead the corporate marketing team. A new enterprise business team will be headed by Akash Saxenaa.

    Asim Warsi will be pursuing a different professional path and in that, he will continue to be engaged with Samsung India, said the company.
