    Amazon miniTV announces Builders – an inside story of a modern-day gym!

    Mumbai: Amazon miniTV – Amazon’s free video streaming service has been a part of the hit parade with its path-breaking and diverse content library. Adding yet another feather to its hat, the streaming service today announced its latest show, Builders – a unique one-of-a-kind comedy series that will give viewers an insight into the day-to-day incidents of a gym! Taking the excitement a level higher, Amazon miniTV released the trailer for the young adult drama bound to strike a chord with viewers across India.

    Releasing on 22 September 2023, Builders will accord a heightened dramatic situation but will also leave the viewers in splits with cleverly crafted humor. Following the quest of a naive manager’s struggle to save his gym from a financial fallout with some help from a few countable members, Builders features Swapnil, Ankit Motghare, Anushka Mishra, Vidushi Kaul, Avtar Gill, and many more.

    Created by The Screenpatti – a subsidiary under The Viral Fever (TVF), the amusing trailer of Builders unveils how the task of saving the gym falls on the manager, Mandar, who is a very simple-minded guy. The trailer is an amalgamation of fun and drama. While Mandar has been given the task of saving the gym, his simplicity is no match for a business runner which results in him seeking some help from his friends who are also members of the gym. The trailer also shares a glimpse of these friends cum gym members who join the hustle. This dream team includes the ambitious actress Parul, the hopeless romantic Kaameshwar, and the “been there, done that” uncle.

    The Q announces its line-up of new-age comedy series

    Mumbai: Following the success of ‘BakLol’ and recognising the audiences’ burgeoning need for light-hearted content, a Hindi general entertainment platform, The Q has further strengthened its content slate.

    In addition to the recently launched ‘Dum Laga ke Hasna’, the platform on Wednesday announced its content line-up which includes three exclusive to television comedy series: ‘Yo Yo Yogesh’ (5 August), ‘Chu Chu Ke Funs’ (14 August) and ‘Ridhu Pidhu’ (4 September). With these new releases, the platform aims to take the laughter quotient a notch higher with funny and relatable content.

    Eros Now’s Comedy Series Side Hero bags ‘Best Web Series’ award from The Digital Hash

    MUMBAI: Eros Now, leading over-the-top (OTT) South Asian entertainment platform owned by Eros International Plc, a leading global company in the Indian film entertainment, wins the ‘Best Web Series’ award for their first original web series – Side Hero by The Digital Hash, a digital portal exclusively covering Web Entertainment. The comedy series added another feather to its cap with lead actor Kunaal Roy Kapur bagging the ‘Best Actor’ award for his performance in the web-series.

    The Digital Hash recognizes superlative web content every month under their property “Streaming Awards” which honours the best talent in the realm of digital entertainment. The eight episodes series that released in September garnered much praise for its humorous take on Kunaal’s life, juggling between the endeavour to get a lead role but always ending up being the ‘Side Hero’. Side Hero has enjoyed tremendous popularity with a rating of 8.6 (on IMDB) as well as the number one position on Top Hindi Movies and Shows section within a week of its release on IMDB over others like the recently released movies during the same period such as Sui Dhaaga.

    ‘Lost’, ‘Desperate Housewives’ competing for intl TV Audience Awards

    CANNES: The Monte-Carlo TV Festival and Eurodata TV Worldwide have joined forces to allow viewers to reward programmes who delivered the highest ratings worldwide.

    The first edition of the International TV Audience Awards will be designated by viewers through the sum of the TV ratings across five continents. It will reward the programme delivering the highest
    ratings worldwide in 2005 in three categories: Drama Series, Comedy Series and Telenovela/ Soap Opera.

    Nominees were revealed on the occasion of the television event MipTV 2006 in Cannes, France during the Eurodata TV Worldwide’s cocktail party.

    Competing in the drama category are Lost, CSI and Without a Trace.

    The comedy series nominees are Desperate Housewives, Mr. Bean and Joey.The Telenovela” / Soap Opera nominees are The Bold and the Beautiful, RUBI and Pasión de Gavilanes.

    The nominees are pre-selected among the ten best imported fiction programmes in 51 countries, i.e. 2.5 billion potential viewers. The winners will be presented at the 46th Monte-Carlo Television Festival Awards on 1 July 2006 at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.
