    BARC Week 10: English space sees a mix in ratings; Movies Now leads the English Movies space

    MUMBAI:  All India data from week 10 of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) indicates that the entire English genre saw a mix in ratings for the week. Movies Now toppled Star Movies, taking the number one position in the English movies genre whereas Comedy Central continued to lead the English entertainment space.

    English GEC

    Comedy Central took the first spot with an increase in ratings with 302 (‘000s) as compared to 296 (‘000s) in week 9. AXN climbed up the row bagging the second slot with 230 (‘000s). Star World grabbed the third position with 119 (‘000s) followed by Zee Cafe with a decline in the viewership at the fourth place with 112 (‘000s). Colors Infinity SD secured its fifth berth with 63 (‘000s).

    English Movies

    Movies Now toppled Star Movies dominating the English movies space with 2969 (‘000s) followed by Star Movies at the second spot with 2720 (‘000s). HBO took the third spot with 1976 (‘000s). Sony Pix with 1356 (‘000s) and Zee Studio with 1280 (‘000s) grabbed the fourth and fifth position respectively.

    MUMBAI:  All India data from week 10 of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) indicates that the entire English genre saw a mix in ratings for the week. Movies Now toppled Star Movies, taking the number one position in the English movies genre whereas Comedy Central continued to lead the English entertainment space.

    English GEC

    Comedy Central took the first spot with an increase in ratings with 302 (‘000s) as compared to 296 (‘000s) in week 9. AXN climbed up the row bagging the second slot with 230 (‘000s). Star World grabbed the third position with 119 (‘000s) followed by Zee Cafe with a decline in the viewership at the fourth place with 112 (‘000s). Colors Infinity SD secured its fifth berth with 63 (‘000s).

    English Movies

    Movies Now toppled Star Movies dominating the English movies space with 2969 (‘000s) followed by Star Movies at the second spot with 2720 (‘000s). HBO took the third spot with 1976 (‘000s). Sony Pix with 1356 (‘000s) and Zee Studio with 1280 (‘000s) grabbed the fourth and fifth position respectively.

    MUMBAI: The English entertainment genre emerged as a gainer in Chrome’s opportunity to see (OTS) analysis for the six metros. The sector registered an increase of 3.4 per cent and saw Comedy Central as the leader with 49.9 per cent OTS in week 9.

    Infotainment was the next in the tally, and witnessed an increase of 2.3 per cent OTS on all India basis and History TV 18 emerged as the most benefitted channel with 82.0 per cent OTS.

    Music genre in the Hindi speaking market (HSM) recorded 1.9 per cent OTS while Sony Mix registered highest with 85.1 per cent OTS in the section.

    Next in the section was Hindi Movies which registered 0.8 per cent OTS and Max with 88.9 per cent OTS became the most benefitted channel.

    Meanwhile witnessing a drop of 1.0 per cent Hindi general entertainment channels (GEC) topped the loser category with DD National scoring 94.6 per cent OTS.  With a fall of 0.3 per cent Youth genre booked a second spot with Channel V as the most affected channel with 83.6 per cent OTS.

    In six metros, business news saw a drop of 0.3 per cent with CNBC Awaaz registering 82.2 per cent OTS.  Last but not the least, English news registered 0.19 per cent OTS in six metros with Loksabha TV scoring 91.6 per cent

    MUMBAI: The English entertainment genre emerged as a gainer in Chrome’s opportunity to see (OTS) analysis for the six metros. The sector registered an increase of 3.4 per cent and saw Comedy Central as the leader with 49.9 per cent OTS in week 9.

    Infotainment was the next in the tally, and witnessed an increase of 2.3 per cent OTS on all India basis and History TV 18 emerged as the most benefitted channel with 82.0 per cent OTS.

    New Delhi, 3 March: Two new shows are being premiered on Comedy Central this month to compete with the growing GEC space taking in English and Hindi comedy shows.

    The new line-up comprises Seed and House of Lies; that will be added to the channel’s continuing line-up of electrifying shows such as Suits, Blunt Talk, Telenovela, Impractical Jokers, and F.R.I.E.N.D.Samong others. In addition, the channel is also preparing for this month’s colourful festive celebrations onHoli and International Day of Happiness.

    Seed Season 1 & 2 is the story of Harry Dacosta. As a young man, he was able to fund his nights of partying by donating at a sperm bank while posing as an Ivy League student. Years later, after the sperm bank’s confidential database is compromised, a boy named Billy appears at Harry’s door claiming to be his son. Already blown away at the notion of having one child, Harry also learns he has a teenage daughter, Anastasia. While Billy’s and Anastasia’s parents are reluctant to let Harry into their lives, Harry is eager to enjoy fatherhood – but without the responsibility. The show commenced this week on 2 March at 10pm.

     A new season of a popular business comedy House of Lies Season 4 is a show Based on the book ‘House of Lies: How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Then Tell You the Time’. The show revolves around Marty, a highly successful management consultant who tries anything and everything possible to provide his clients with relevant information. This will commence later this month on21 March at 10.30pm.

    MUMBAI: Zee Café emerged as the number one channel in the English general entertainment channels (GECs) genre, while the English movies genre saw Movies Now continuing its dominant streak, according to Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) All India data in week 7.

    In this week, Zee Café garnered the pole position with 229 (‘000s) followed by Comedy Central, which retained its second position with 217 (‘000s) with a dip in rating as compared to the previous week. AXN secured the third position with 205 (‘000s), Star World grabbed the fourth position with 137 (‘000s) and Colors Infinity SD stood at number five with 69 (‘000s).

    English Movies

    Movies Now continued to lead the genre and bagged the first position with an increase in ratings with 3083 (‘000s) as against 2542 (‘000s) in week 6.

    Star Movies captured the second berth with 2519 (‘000s) followed by HBO at number three, which saw a slight dip in rating with 1705 (‘000s). Sony Pix with 1384 (‘000s) was at number four, while Zee Studio secured the fifth position with 1271 (‘000s).
