  • CNN-IBN to air ‘All About Money’ from Dalal Street

    MUMBAI: On the occasion of Diwali, CNN-IBN will air a one-hour, special episode of All About The Money from Dalal Street Mumbai on 10 November at 6:30 pm.

    The show will have market players – Ramesh Damani and Abhay Aima and financial advisor Sandeep Shanbagh – speak to the audience on the Sensex’s year so far and the subsequent money that has been made because of it. In addition, astrologer Bejan Daruwalla will reveal what the upcoming financial year has in store for everyone!

    “On the occasion of Diwali the topic of one’s finances invariably arises. This special episode of All About the Money brings together experts – both financial and astrological – to help our viewers understand and make sense of the developments in the Sensex thus far and what lies ahead,” said CNN-IBN and IBN 7 editor in chief Rajdeep Sardesai.

  • CNN-IBN launches special series on ‘Retail Revolution’

    MUMBAI: CNN-IBN is launching a special series ‘Retail Revolution’ on the booming retail business in India. The week long series will look at the distinctly transforming face of retail, with a special focus on its effects on the towns and villages across the country.

  • Tehelka fallout: News channels off air in Ahmedabad

    MUMBAI: Following Tehelka’s ‘Operation Kalank’ sting expose of the Gujarat riots, seven news channels have been put off air in Ahmedabad since 26 October.

    Ahmedabad District Collector Dhananjay Dwivedi, who is also the District Election Officer, on Friday issued an order to all cable television operators not to telecast the Tehelka expose of the Gujarat riots “Operation Kalank.”

    As a result, news channels including Aaj Tak, Headlines Today, Tez, CNN-IBN, IBN7, NDTV 24X7 and NDTV India are off air since Friday.

    The Friday order quoted the cable television network rules and regulations, 1995, clause five, sub-sections 1(C) and 1(E), under which the operators must not telecast any programme that could incite communal hatred or come in the way of maintenance of the law and order. 

  • CNN-IBN launches ‘All about the Money’

    MUMBAI: CNN-IBN has launched a weekend show All about the Money. The half-hour show will provide guidance on issues relating to savings and investments.

    Each episode will be divided into a number of segments like ‘personal finance’, ‘realty check’, ‘consumer watch’, ‘indulge’, ‘class room explainers’ and ‘business unusual’.

    The segment ‘personal finance’ will provide guidance on insurance and mutual funds to banking and tax law and ‘realty check’ will provide map of realty prices and broker tips on investments.

    ‘Consumer watch’ highlights the after-sale services of companies and facilitates in addressing consumer woes. ‘Indulge’ reviews the latest consumer launch of the week. While ‘class room explainers’ answers basic questions related to personal wealth management, ‘business unusual’ explores money-making business ideas.

  • CNN-IBN and IBN 7 forays into reality show format with ‘Dard-e-Disco’

    MUMBAI: CNN-IBN and IBN 7 has launched a reality talent hunt show Dard-e-Disco dance challenge. The challenge is an attempt to find the best dancer to dance in Farah Khan directed Om Shanti Om’s item number Dard-e-Disco.

    After the audition rounds in Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Chandigarh, the five most talented finalists, chosen over the weeks, will receive personalised choreography lessons from Farah.

    The finalists will feature in a special one-hour dance show wherein Shahrukh Khan, Farah Khan and Deepika Padukone will be the judges. The winner will get an opportunity to dance with Shahrukh Khan.The video play outs including the grand finale will be aired on the entertainment section of CNN-IBN, IBN 7 and ibnlive.com.

    MUMBAI: IBN 7’s recently launched talk show Zindagi Live has launched a microsite on IBNLive.com. The microsite will also have a blog section of the anchor Richa Anirudh who will write about what viewers can expect in future episodes and the audience response.

    The microsite features show schedule, streaming videos of episodes of Zindagi Live and offers a platform for viewers to share their experiences with the channel.

    Viewers can log in and submit their detail as well as their story. Besides, viewers can also send e-mails with their personal accounts that they would like to share on the show at zindagilive@ibnlive.com.

  • IBN 7 to launch talk show ‘Zindagi Live

    MUMBAI: IBN 7 will launch a weekly talk show Zindagi Live from 9 September. The show will try to provide a platform for people who have survived adversities in life. Hosted by Richa Anirudh, a panel of experts will join the show for discussions with the guest.

    Every Sunday each episode will focus on issues like divorce, alcoholism, obesity and AIDS among others. The personal accounts will be accompanied by interesting facts, trivia and statistics to further enhance viewer knowledge on the subject.

    CNN IBN announce ‘Indian of the year’ awards

    Mumbai: The winners of the ‘CNN IBN Indian of the year’ awards for sports, politics and business were announced by the channel. Golfer Jeev Milkha Singh won in the sports category while Dr. Manmohan Singh and Ratan Tata were winners in the politics and business category respectively.

    The winners in each category were chosen through a public voting process and the Electoral College.

  • CNN-IBN and IBN 7 to conduct Indo-Pak poll in ‘State of the Nation’

    MUMBAI: To celebrate the 60 years of Independence, IBN 7 and CNN-IBN is re-starting the channels’ flagship public opinion series State of the Nation. The opinion series will involve a two nation simultaneous opinion poll conducted by Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS) in India and AC Nielsen in Pakistan.

    Beginning on 12 august in CNN-IBN and IBN 7, the three half-an-hour episode series will have a final one-hour show on 15 August.

    The bi-nation poll divided into four parts includes the Kashmir question, opinion about India, Pakistan and the World, the political debate — UPA in India, General as dictator in Pakistan and people to people show, Indian and Pakistani citizens on each other.

    The bi-nation opinion poll will be based on face-to-face interviews with about 2500 respondents each in India and Pakistan, broadly representing the regional and social diversity of each country.

    MUMBAI: CNN-IBN and IBN 7 have launched a new series titled Splendid 60: Six Decades of Cinema as a part of their celebration of 60 years of India’s independence. It will be presented by Rajeev Masand on CNN-IBN at 10 pm and Amrapali Sharma on IBN 7 at 11 pm every Saturday.

    The four-episode series will focus on the journey of Indian cinema along with some of the top filmmakers choosing their personal all-time favourite films of the last 60 years. The series will present special segments discussing – sexuality and the Hindi heroine, changing face of the Hindi film hero and growth of parallel cinema.
