    Chrome week 38: English movies genre tops chart with 4.8 % OTS

    MUMBAI: The English movies genre emerged as the gainer in Chrome’s opportunity to see (OTS) analysis in six metros by registering an increase of 4.8 per cent. Movies Now was the leader with 49.6 per cent OTS in week 38.

    Next up, the sports genre with 3.5 per cent gain across India took the second spot in the list of top gainers. DD Sports led the tally with 89.4 per cent OTS.

    The English Entertainment’ genre in six metros too noted a growth of 3.2 per cent with Comedy Central emerging as the chart topper with 45.9 per cent OTS.

    Last, but not the least, kids genre across India observed a 3.1 per cent rise with Cartoon Network in the number one slot with 80.8 per cent OTS.

    Meanwhile, witnessing a drop of 3.0 per cent, the music genre across Hindi speaking market topped the loser category with 9XM TV scoring 90.5 per cent OTS.

    On the other hand, with a drop of 0.8 per cent, business news genre in six metros was in the second spot with CNBC Awaaz turned out to be the most affected channel with 82.7 per cent OTS.

    Infotainment across India dropped by 0.3 per cent. History TV 18 recorded 84.9 per cent. Religious genre in Hindi-speaking market is the last in the list and registered 0.2 per cent and Sanskar as the top channel with 97. 1 per cent OTS.

    MUMBAI: Times network shone this week with Times Now as the undisputed leader in the English News space and ET Now dominated the English business news genre. According to week 37 of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) all India data, in the Hindi news genre, Aaj Tak continued to lead whereas CNBC Awaaz ranked number one in Hindi Business News.

    English news

    Times Now maintained its first position with 446 Impressions (000s). CNN News18 took the second position with 204 Impressions (000s). NDTV 24×7 settled on the third berth with 193 Impressions (000s). India Today television grabbed the fourth spot with 139 Impressions (000s) whereas News X sustained its fifth position with 79 Impressions (000s).

    English business news

    ET Now dominated the space with 157 Impressions (000s) followed by CNBC TV18  that secured the second slot with 153 Impressions (000s).  NDTV Profit and NDTV Prime with 93 Impressions (000s) and BTVi with 13 (‘000s) Impressions (000s) took the third and fourth positions respectively.

    Aaj Tak stood at the first spot with 82288 Impressions (000s) followed by India TV at the second position with 75059 Impressions (000s).  India News sustained was at third position with 75059 Impressions (000s) followed by ABP News securing the fourth position with 58691 Impressions (000s). Zee News took the fifth position with 52913 Impressions (000s).

    CNBC Awaaz grabbed the first spot with 877 Impressions (000s) whereas Zee Business stood at the second spot with 593 Impressions (000s).

    MUMBAI: The business news and English movies genres were the only two losers in Chrome’s opportunity to see (OTS) analysis in six metros in week 36. The business news genre witnessed a drop of 1.2 per cent and CNBC Awaaz bagged the first spot in the genre with 83.0 per cent OTS.

    Next in the list was the English movie segment that dropped by 1.0 per cent with Movies Now as the most affected category with 46.7. English news, religious infotainment and sports genres were among the gainers of week 36.

    English news genre led the pack in the six metros with a growth of 1.6 per cent with Loksabha TV at the top of the chart with 92.6 per cent OTS. Second on the list is the religious genre in Hindi-speaking market (HSM), which witnessed 0.7 per cent growth. Aastha bagged the pole position in the section with 97.7 per cent OTS.

    Infotainment genre secured the third berth across India with 0.5 per cent OTS with History TV18 leading the genre with 86.1 per cent OTS.

    Sports genre across India grabbed the fourth position with 0.5 per cent, with DD sports topping the list with 88.7 per cent OTS.

    MUMBAI: The English movies genre emerged as the gainer in Chrome’s opportunity to see (OTS) analysis in six metros cities by registering an increase of two per cent. Movies Now was the leader with 47.2 per cent OTS in week 35.

    Next up, the English entertainment genre with a 1.7 per cent gain in the same market took the second spot in the list of top gainers. Comedy Central led the tally with 46.0 per cent OTS.

    The Business news channels’ genre in the same market too noted a growth of 1.7 per cent with CNBC Awaaz emerging as the chart topper with 82.4 per cent OTS.

    Last but not the least, Religious channels in the Hindi speaking market observed a 0.7 per cent rise with Aastha in the number one slot with 97.9 per cent OTS.

    Meanwhile, witnessing a drop of 1.8 per cent, the English News channels’ genre in the six metros topped the loser category with Lok Sabha TV scoring 92.5 per cent OTS.

    On the other hand, with a drop of 1.1 per cent, the Hindi GEC genre in HSM was in the second spot with Star Utsav registering a 97.1 per cent OTS.

    The Hindi Movies genre in an identical market recorded 1.1 per cent drop with Max a scoring a 92.5 per cent OTS. With the drop of 0.6 per cent Music genre in same market stood last in the list with 9 XM in the number one slot with 90.2 per cent OTS.

    Amish Devgan to host ‘Aar Paar’ from 18 July on IBN7

    MUMBAI: In line with its commitment to improve the way debates happen on news channels, IBN7 is all geared up to launch Aar Paar from18 July. The show will be hosted by Network 18 executive editor Amish Devgan and will air everyday at 7 pm.

    The hour long show will conduct the various topics with a direct and effective way. Devgan famously known as an aggressive anchor will also be seen giving conclusions to the topic of the way. “Amish is excited about hosting this show. Apart from arriving to solid conclusions, he will also consider the feedback from audience present,” points a source.

    As reported earlier by Indiantelevision.com, Devgan joined Network 18 on 6 June and closely works with Network18 news CEO and group editor in chief Rahul Joshi and consulting editor Prabal Pratap Singh. With 16 years of journalistic experience, Devgan will utilize his expertise to devise various strategies and plans for all the Hindi news channels under the group namely IBN7 and CNBC Awaaz.

    The channel has not roped in any advertisers for this show yet. It will utilize and leverage their network which they believe will help establish the show. Additionally, the team will use an effective mix of digital, OOH and other media as required to maximize the reach of the show. The show will also be promoted on social media like Facebook, Twitter,YouTube, etc.

    MUMBAI: According to week 25 of BARC India, rating the English News space is yet again lead by Times Now. CNBC News18 held top position in English business news. India TV and CNBC Awaaz secured their leadership in respective genres.

    English News

    Times Now held number one position with 279 Impressions (000s), followed by News 9 on second spot with 142 Impressions (000s). CNN News 18 secured third spot with 126 Impressions (000s). NDTV 24×7 with 109 Impressions (000s) and India Today Television grabbed fourth and fifth position respectively.

    English Business News

    CNBC TV 18 held top position with 126 Impressions (000s). ET Now  grabbed second spot with 88 Impressions (000s). NDTV Profit and NDTV Prime held third spot with 31 Impressions (000s), followed by Bloomberg TV on fourth spot with 14 Impressions (000s).

    Hindi News

    India TV retained top position with 63832 Impressions (000s), followed by Aaj Tak with 63451 Impressions (000s) on second spot. India News held third spot with 44749 Impressions (000s) while ABP News held on to fourth position with 43482 Impressions (000s). News Nation with 41775 Impressions (000s) held fifth position.

    CNBC Awaaz with 695 Impressions (000s) and Zee Business with 507 Impressions (000s) held first and second spot respectively.
