    Zee names Rohit Suri as chief human resources officer, bets on a people-powered future

    MUMBAI: Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (Zee) has roped in Rohit Suri as its new chief human resources officer, effective 12 May 2025. Suri, who will be based in Mumbai and report directly to chief executive officer Punit Goenka, is tasked with turbocharging Zee’s human capital strategy.

    Armed with over 25 years of experience across consumer internet, technology, and media companies, Suri most recently led talent management at Netflix India. His CV boasts leadership roles across South Asia, APAC, and Europe, where he drove HR transformation, leadership development, and cultural integration.

    Goenka hailed the appointment, stating, “Human capital remains the cornerstone of our success at Zee as we progress to achieve our targeted goals for a robust future. I am glad to welcome Rohit, who joins us at a pertinent juncture, as we aim to strengthen the HR operations, people strategy and overall organisational culture to build a future-ready workplace. With his strong expertise and understanding in talent development and cultural integration especially within the media & entertainment sector, we look forward to fostering an environment of higher innovation and collaboration.”

    MUMBAI: Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Zeel) has announced the resignation of Dheeraj Jaggi, chief human resources officer and senior management personnel, citing personal reasons. His resignation will take effect from 31 January 2025. The company made this public through a regulatory filing with the Bombay stock exchange on 31 January. 

    In a communication to company CEO Punit Goenka or PG, Jaggi expressed gratitude for his nearly six-year journey at Zeel, describing it as one of the most transformative phases of his career. He highlighted his contributions to the company’s internal transformation, culture, and capability-building agenda, as well as the honour of being entrusted with the responsibility of the CHRO role by  PG.

    Said Jaggi: “I have my deepest gratitude for the journey we have shared. From handling the HR agenda for the largest, diverse and complex businesses across Zeel and leading the internal transformation, culture and capabilities agenda, my journey at Zeel has been one of my career best.     Ramya Sampath Sharma, a seasoned chief human resources officer (CHRO) with a diverse background in global technology and services sectors, has been appointed as the new CHRO  at Saint-Gobain group in India. In this position, she aims to leverage her expertise and drive organisational transformation through strategic HR leadership.

    With over 27 years of experience, Ramya holds a proven track record of fostering high-performance cultures and driving growth. Prior to joining Saint-Gobain Group, she served as the CHRO  at GreyOrange, where she spearheaded organisational design, implemented advanced HR technologies, and achieved significant increases in employee satisfaction and productivity.

    Ramya holds an MBA in Human Resources from XLRI Jamshedpur and has pursued an executive program on board effectiveness at the Indian School of Business. Throughout her illustrious career, she has worked with prominent companies, including Accenture, Intel, and Microland. Her most notable achievements include transforming HR functions, driving business growth, and implementing innovative HR strategies.

    At Saint-Gobain group, Ramya will lead the company’s HR efforts, focusing on driving business excellence through talent development, strategic organizational design, and employee engagement. Her appointment underscores Saint-Gobain group’s commitment to investing in its human capital and driving growth through HR excellence.

    Ramya ‘s appointment is effective as of November 2024.

    MUMBAI: Mumbai-based supply chain financing and working capital software specialist  Veefin group has made two senior hires – one in talent and the other in marketing and branding.

    Gitesh Karnik comes in as chief human resources officer (CHRO) and Saurabh Kanwar has got roped in as chief brand &  marketing officer (CBMO).  Karnik’s main focus will be on optimising HR strategies to enhance employee engagement and performance.

    Kanwar as his designation says will have the responsibility of  nurturing and growing  the brand Veefin and building  effective marketing plans.

    Karnik has close to 25 years of experience working with companies such as Cyquator Technologies at the start of his career Integron,GE Money, Deutsche Bank, eNxt Financials, Hicare services, Magma Fincorp,  and Nearby Technologies. All along he has been either been involved in staffing or human resources.

    Kanwar has mainly worked in advertising or marketing in mostly media companies. These include: Wirpo infotech, JWT,, MTV Networks, Walt Disney Television, Radio City, Channel V, Nex-Sales Solutions, Flarepath Digital (he founded this), Kommune India, ATKT.in, Kleinetics Datasports, Discontent Designs (he co-founded this), and now Veefin. 

    Throughout his career, he has been an educator as well, being on the visiting faculty of St Xaiver’s College Mumbai and Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management were two of the colleges where found the time to teach

    Network18 Media shuffles senior management

    MUMBAI: Reliance Industries group company Network18 has made some senior management changes, which it made public through a regulatory filing on the Bombay stock exchange on 12 October 2024.

    Shweta Gupta has been appointed as company secretary and compliance officer, replacing Nitten Gupta as the compliance officer who moved out of Network18 on 12 October 2024.

    Sanchayan Paul has also been roped in as chief human resource officer who will join Network18 from 1 November 2024. He replaces P. Sakthivel who will be moving into another role within the company from 31 October 2024.  The company had made the announcement of Sachayan’s  joining as CHRO designate in June 2024.

    Gupta is a qualified company secretary & law graduate with more than 20 years’ experience in the areas of  secretarial, corporate governance, legal and compliance functions.  Her last posting was as company secretary & compliance officer & legal head of Gulf Oil Lubricants India, a Hinduja group company. Before Gulf, she was associated with Hindalco Industries and JSW Steel.

    A graduate from Delhi university and a postgraduate from XLRI Jamshedpur, Sanchayan is a a veteran HR professional with more than 25 years’ experience. He was previously associated with Modenik Lifestyle, a PE-backed enterprise that he landed into after journeying through companies as varied as Reliance Industries, Thomson Reuters, Eicher Consulting Services, Hutchison Essar Telecom and Vodafone. He also took a stab at entrepreneurship, founding KaryaMitr, a tech-enabled platform for skill building and training aimed at the vernacular workspace. Sanchayan has also completed his digital business leadership pogramme from Cornell University.

    MUMBAI: To pursue its ambitious growth and expansion plans, Matrimony.com recently strengthened its senior management team with experienced talent.

    Prasad Nelliparthi joined as CHRO, with over 29 years of experience in HR function. In his last stint, he worked as Executive VP – HR with Tube Investments of India Limited while Uma Srinivasan joined Matrimony.com as Head – Talent Acquisition. She earlier worked as with Randstad India as President – Permanent Recruitment Business (Executive Search and Selection).

    Karthik Jagannathan has stepped in as Senior VP and Head – MatrimonyBazaar. He previously worked as VP and Business Head at Sulekha India.

    The development comes in the wake of the company pursuing its matchmaking growth plans and also expansion of its marriage services including MatrimonyPhotography, MatrimonyBazaar and MatrimonyMandaps.
