    Himmesh Reshammiya unleashes on ETC’s ‘Pop Ki Aandhi’

    Mumbai January 23, 2006: Himmesh Reshammiya has created a storm as a music director in film industry. Now this director has turned singer with ‘Aap Ka Suroor’ album. Bollywood Ka Apna Channel ETC presents one singing sensation for each quarter of the month. Second half of January 2006 is dedicated to Himmesh Reshammiya and his melody.

    Pop Ki Aandhi is a special slot, which is dedicated to musicians. These are the personalities who are in news for their latest work. In this special slot every month ETC features one such musician or music group in each fortnight of the month.

    Himmesh Reshammiya will talk to ETC anchor Suresh Menon in ‘Chit Chaat’ on on Wednesday January 25, 2006 at 8.00 pm (repeat on Thursday at 1.30pm).

    Pop Ki Andhi will feature Remo Fernandez in a celebrity chat show 'Chit Chaat' on 27 July 2005 from 7.30 pm. Remo is in news with his title song Love in SMS that he has rendered in the latest album by the same name from EMI.

    Aryans to feature on etc’s ‘Pop ki Aandhi’

    Etc music is will present Aryans in next episode of Chit Chaat show, on 21 April at 7:30 pm. Anchored by Suresh Menon, this time in the garb of Ashok Kumar, the show will feature pop group -Aryans, fresh from the success of their latest album Hai Dil.

    In the show, the band members Narayan, Sadu, Yakub, Jogi and Atul will be treating the viewers with extempore singing and musical instruments.

    Pop Ki Aandhi is a special slot, which is dedicated to the personalities from the music industry. In this slot, etc features one musician or music group every fortnight.

    Aryans will talk at length with Suresh Menon about the long wait they had before Hai Dil and about the offers they are receiving for providing background scores in films.

    "We wanted to give our best. That is why we waited until we were satisfied with our songs, music and composition," the pop-artists offered.

    "We do not believe in nudity. If your music is good then you don't need all this absurd gimmickry to sell. You need naked girls only if you copy the music of others or your own music is bad," says Narayan.

    On a question hurled at Narayan, a Malayalee, about having not sung a Malyalee pop song, he offered an original line: "Have you ever seen a pop singer in lungee?"

    In between chats, Narayan, Sadu, and Atul will sing songs from their album, while Yakub and Jogi will give them company with instrumental music. The album consists of some soulful songs like Kahan Gaye Woh Din, Dil Akelaa Hai and Jaane Kaun Saa Rastaa and also some peppy numbers like Jee Chahtaa Hai.

    MUMABAI: etc is up in arms. The music channel claims that with its innovative programming and an all-new Bollywood centric approach, it has turned into the market leader.
     

    Quoting a TAM data, etc claims that a channel rooted to its Indian origin, like itself, can only win the hearts of Indians. A company release says that according to TAM figures for the six weeks (week 38 to week 43) from 14 September 14, 2003 to 25 October 25, 2003 in all India C&S homes 15+ SEC ABC, etc is the No.1 music channel. While etc enjoys channel share of 34 per cent, MTV claims 15 per cent ZEE Music 18 per cent, Channel [V] 18 per cent and B4U 15 per cent, in the Hindi speaking market.

    According to the release, etc could only claim the position since it is a spirited and daringly experimental channel with a wholesome approach, is showcasing music in its all the avatars to entertain its viewers.

    And what makes it ‘sarvottam, sarvashreshta aur swadeshi,’ is its line up of programmes like film based shows Chit Chaat, Taaza Maal, Bollywood, On Air, Music This Week, Awaaz and Bollywood Birthmarks, show created to commemorate movie stars’ birthdays Main Amitabh Bachchan Banna Chahta Hoon and Shahrukh Unlimited were such special shows.

    That apart, etc organizes live events of the Swadeshi AKA Indian bands like Remo, Vikas Bhalla, Bali Brahmbhatt, Xenia Ali, Vaishali Samant, Dr L Subramaniam and Devang Patel. Besides the music based programmes, etc, in a bid to connect with the regional audience, has come up with programmes like ETC Pathshala and Its My Pasand.
