MUMBAI: Mickey and his friends have arrived in Mumbai! The six member toon gang comprising Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy and Chip ‘N Dale who set foot in India on 4 January at the Sahar International Airport, were received by The Walt Disney Company (India) managing director Rajat Jain.
The arrival of the characters will usher in more than three weeks of classic Disney entertainment for kids. The toons will perform at ‘Disney Magic’, a star studded musical extravaganza that brings alive the charm and magic of Disney’s most loved characters through 24 live shows in six cities across India.
India is the first country where ‘Disney Magic’ will enthrall audiences as part of their six nation tour in the Asian-Pacific region. This is also the first ever live performance by Disney characters in India. The performance in Mumbai is slated for 7 January, in Ahmedabad on 11 January, Delhi on 14 January, Kolkatta on 21 January, Hyderabad on 26 January and Bangalore on 29 January. The visit will also be a chance for Disney Channel’s young viewers and their families to meet the stars up-close and personal on the stage.
“Disney Magic brings in the much-engrossing, live performances of the Disney stars and is an important step towards furthering Disney Channel’s efforts in redefining kids entertainment in India. Ensuring an enriching and relevant brand experience for kids in India has been an important agenda for us. MUMBAI: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy and Chip ‘n Dale are a coming to India!!!! Disney Channel will be presenting its stars in ‘Disney Magic’ – a musical extravaganza to take the Indian kids on a magical journey packed with songs, dance and a lifetime experience.
The stars touch the Indian soil on the 4 January, 2006 and will entertain kids and their families with a series of live performances across six cities – Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Bangalore.

29 JanuaryIn every city, a select number of kids will get special invites to meet and shake hands with the Disney stars by participating in a simple contest. Promotion for the contest has commenced this week and will continue till 24 January, 2006.
Disney Channel, as part of its school contact programme will also visit schools in various cities to promote the contest. Also, in the days leading up to the event in the malls where the shows will eventually take place, a Disney Channel stall will be set up for kids to facilitate participation in the contest.
Viewers get this opportunity to witness the ‘Disney Magic’ by watching Disney Channel and sending in the names of the Disney stars who are visiting India.
