    Gracenote hires Bill Michels as chief product officer

    MUMBAI: He’s got noteworthy credentials. Bill Michels, who was brought in as AC Nielsen’s content solutions business unit Gracenote’s chief product officer,  has held senior leadership roles in companies like Moloco, The Trade Desk, Foursquare/Factual and Yahoo.

    As chief product officer,  Bill has been given the responsibility for leading Gracenote’s global product team as the company looks to grow its suite of video, sports and music products and accelerate key market expansion initiatives.
     

    “As Gracenote redefines the role of metadata in an AI world, it was important to bring in someone like Bill Michels who has successfully built data businesses and platforms powered by machine learning,” said Gracenote CEO Jared Grusd, CEO. “Bill joins at a very exciting time for Gracenote and his adjacent experience will help the company think more horizontally and accelerate our growth initiatives.”

    Bill brings two decades of product management, engineering and data partnership expertise across CTV, ad tech and search to Gracenote, as well as deep experience operationalising and scaling products globally.

    Bill’s appointment marks the most recent addition to the Gracenote executive leadership team. Earlier this year, Phani Kalagara was named chief technology officer for Gracenote. Phani is a highly accomplished technology leader with deep expertise building large, diverse and high performing global teams. He has held various leadership roles at multinational companies such as PayPal, Flipkart and Advanced Interactive Systems. Most recently, Phani served as chief product and technology officer at Pine Labs, a privately held fintech company focused on building merchant platforms and payment solutions that enable efficient financial transactions.

    Nishant Nayak becomes FanCode’s chief product officer

    MUMBAI: Digital sports fan destination FanCode from the house of Dream Sports, has appointed Nishant Nayak as its chief product officer (CPO). He will lead the product strategy to realise FanCode’s vision of becoming the largest sports fan platform in the country.

    Prior to joining FanCode, he was based in Berlin, Germany as Zenjob head of product. He brings with him over 20 years of global experience in product & technology. His expertise lies in leading end-to-end product functions for eCommerce marketplaces like eBay, Flipkart, Zalando, and Zenjob, with a focus on aligning products with the brand vision & strategy including market expansion.

    DigiBoxx onboards Mohua Mitra as chief product officer

    Mumbai: India’s leading indigenous digital asset management platform Digiboxx has announced the appointment of Mohua Mitra as the chief product officer. 

    In her new role, Mohua will focus on strategy, execution, attaining higher efficiency levels, further innovation and automation into the core product offerings at DigiBoxx. She brings over 21 years of experience in SaaS (Software as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service) and BI (Business Intelligence).

    Prior to joining DigiBoxx, Mohua Mitra has been associated with Hitachi Consulting (IN, UK & UAE) for eleven years as a technical architect and manager.

    On this new appointment, Digiboxx CEO Arnab Mitra said, “We are excited to have Mohua join DigiBoxx. She brings with her technical prowess and expertise in implementing solutions in international markets, which will help us take our product offerings to the next level.” 

    Mohua has majored in Physics from Jadavpur University, with a post graduate degree in Radio Physics & Electronics from the Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics (INRAPHEL), Calcutta University. She found her calling in IT consulting very early in her career, working for companies like TCS, Oracle, PwC and IBM as a techno-functional consultant before moving to Hitachi Consulting and now DigiBoxx.

    “It has been a long rewarding career, spanning various geographies including the US, UK, and the UAE. I think it was time for me to embark on a new journey where I can lend my experience to a Made in India service and make it a global product. I thank the DigiBoxx leadership for their confidence in me and look forward to working with the vibrant team,” Mohua Mitra said on her appointment.

    Mumbai: Viacom18 Sports has appointed Pushpendra Singh as its chief product officer. He took to LinkedIn to share this development.

    Prior to his new role, he founded the short video production, and creator economy startup – Fandawn.

    Mumbai: Debt marketplace CredAvenue on Monday announced the appointment of Krishnendu Majumdar as chief product officer.

    In his new position, Majumdar will drive CredAvenue’s product strategy and build deeper synergies within different product verticals through technology-oriented solutions, said the statement.

    Krishnendu has over two decades of extensive experience in building scalable solutions for complex and disruptive businesses in both – B2B & B2C domains. He has derived customised solutions for complex business challenges and has managed and mobilised cross-functional teams under the product, engineering and operations verticals in multiple leadership roles at InMobi, SGT Global and TCS, among others.

    At Flipkart, he played an instrumental role in automating the entire cataloguing experience by leveraging hundreds of ML/AI models. Over the years, Krish has demonstrated strong product management, operational, technical and strategic leadership capabilities.

    Amazon’s Kunal Tiwari joins GoKwik as chief product officer

    Mumbai: GoKwik on Wednesday announced the onboarding of Amazon’s Kunal Tiwari as its chief product officer. According to a statement, the company aims to expand its product portfolio and further strengthen its existing product suite to offer best-in-class support to D2C brands.

    In his new role, Tiwari will spearhead GoKwik’s overall product strategy, execution and innovation.

    Tiwari is a seasoned product and science leader with 15+ years of experience across banking, insurance, and e-commerce industries. In his last role at Amazon, he led multiple product portfolios, which ensured the safety and compliance of Amazon’s catalogue across 20+ marketplaces. Previously, he has led strategic science and product initiatives for BlackRock, AXA-XL, and Bank of America. 

    His expertise in building AI/ML-enabled products will help GoKwik to move faster and effectively towards its vision of democratising the shopping experience. GoKwik is building the best-in-class checkout experience for D2C brands that solve for personalisation, ‘Return to Origin (RTO)’ reduction and conversion rate improvement across the entire funnel, said the statement.
