    Saumya Mittal takes charge as McDonald’s chief people officer for Asia

    MUMBAI: McDonald’s Corp has appointed Saumya Mittal as chief people officer for Asia, handing her the keys to one of its most critical growth markets. Mittal, who took charge this month, will oversee the end-to-end people agenda across Asia, partnering with regional leaders to sharpen talent strategy, culture and organisational design.

    She joins from Google, where she spent nearly eight years in senior HR roles, most recently as APAC commercial HR lead, steering transformational programmes across the region. Earlier, she led diversity, equity and inclusion for Google APAC and served as people partner for the region.

    Mittal cut her teeth at PepsiCo, spending a decade across plant HR, IR, talent acquisition, diversity and change management, before rising to head culture, engagement and change. Her early years as management trainee and plant HR manager gave her hands-on grounding in industrial relations and large workforce management.

    Winner of People Matters’ Are You in the List award in 2015, Mittal has also bagged multiple national and international honours during her career at PepsiCo and Google. With 15 years of experience straddling consumer goods and technology, she is expected to play a pivotal role as McDonald’s deepens its bets on Asia’s high-growth markets.

    NDTV group recruits Purva Misra as chief people officer

    MUMBAI: There’s change at the top at the Adani-owned NDTV group. The news organisation has roped in Purva Misra as chief people officer, replacing Gaurav Shah who headed the HR function. 

    Misra brings with her over 25 years of experience in human resource, business mmanagement and consulting. A notice to the Bombay stock exchange states that she has been a key leader in diverse industries like media, e-commerce, and healthcare. She has successfully managed teams across India and the Asia-Pacific region and has a proven track record in leadership development and organisational transformation.

    Prior to this, she has worked as a chief human resources officer (CHRO) of India Today group and chief operating officer (COO) of India Today Media Institute and has also held various significant roles at Makemytrip.com, Max Healthcare and Hewitt Associates, wherein she has led a range of HR initiatives.

    Misra holds an MBA degree from XLRI Jamshedpur and BA (Honors) in Economics from Delhi university.

    Criteo appoints Manuela Montagnana as chief people officer

    Mumbai: Global technology company Criteo on Thursday announced the appointment of Manuela Montagnana as chief people officer. In this role, Montagnana will lead the company’s people team, driving talent strategy and playing a key role in defining the future of work for Criteo’s global workforce of more than 2,500 employees. Montagnana replaces Denis Collin, who held the role for three years and will assist in the transition.

    In her new roleat Criteo, Montagnana will be responsible for leading the people team, ensuring equitable, transparent and inclusive processes and practices to support an engaged and high-performing team. In addition, she will drive the strategy and execution of attracting, engaging, developing and retaining top talent by ensuring that Criteo remains an employer of choice, now and in the future, said the company in a statement. 

    She will be based in New York with global remit and will report to Criteo CEO Megan Clarken with plans to relocate to Paris, it added. 

    Montagnana brings more than 20 years of experience as a people executive, leading global teams in the manufacturing, service and technology industries. She has a proven track record of accelerating performance through human capital management in a transformation context in both highly matrixed organisations and those undergoing hyper-growth.

    Most recently, Montagnana was with Compass as vice president, head of human resources for product and engineering division, where she was the business partner to the chief technology and chief product officers. While at Compass, she led major transformational projects including the opening of a new development center in India and completing the talent integration following the M&A of two tech startups.

    Mumbai: KFin Technologies has announced the appointment of Kiran Aidhi as chief people officer (CPO), effective September. As the CPO, she will look at all human resources and talent management aspects of KFin, said the company.

    Aidhi comes with a proven track record of 25 years of working in a complex high-tech environment where she has led the human resources strategy and execution. In the past she has been associated with firms like Accenture, Convergys, Hutchison 3 Global Services (now known as Tech Mahindra Business Services), Ugam Solutions. She has wide experience in IT/IT-enabled services, business process outsourcing, and knowledge process outsourcing.

    ZEEL appoints Animesh Kumar as chief people officer

    MUMBAI: Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) has appointed Animesh Kumar as the chief people officer (CPO). He will report to ZEEL MD and CEO Punit Goenka.

    In his new role, Kumar will be spearheading the human resources function to build a dynamic workplace that attracts the best talent and enables innovative people practices, supporting the growing workforce needs.

    The new CPO has also worked with the IDFC Group for nine years engaging in various roles like head of human resources, marketing head of IDFC Bank and CEO of IDFC Foundation. Prior to joining ZEE, he was associated with the Future Group as the chief people & transformation officer wherein he was responsible for driving the internal transformation.

    Having over 25 years of experience, Kumar has led the HR function at large scale Indian and MNCs for over 15 years. He has served on boards of various companies and has worked closely with non-profit organisations helping them enhance internal capacity to increase their social impact.

    Kumar started his career with Marico as the HR manager and served the organisation for more than five years from June 1993 to December 1998. He has done BA in Economics from Shri Ram College of Commerce and holds a post graduate diploma degree on PM&IR (Personnel Management and Industrial Relations) in Human Resources from XLRI College, Jamshedpur.
