    PrepInsta elevates Manish Agarwal to the position of CMO

    Mumbai: Ed-tech startup PrepInsta has elevated Manish Agarwal to chief marketing officer’s position of the brand and also given him co-founder status. Manish was earlier heading the business development at the brand and will now also be managing marketing activities for the brand.

    The development follows the recent announcement of the brand to go aggressive with its expansion in terms of associations with universities and widen its user base.

    In his new role, Manish plans to go aggressive not just with the mainstream but also in regional communications. He aims at tapping the potential audience in Tier II of India for which he will be introducing vernacular communication in the marketing strategy. Additionally, his focus will be towards strong digital marketing to increase the traction on the platform.

    “Edtech space is growing at an unexpected pace, and amidst this it is very important to catch up with continuous innovation and ideas,” said Agarwal. “In India, the one who cuts a sustainable slice of Tier II might stand out for longer, therefore, there is a dire need for business development targets to stay in sync with marketing approach. We at PrepInsta, have some ambitious objectives for the ongoing fiscal, and therefore we are upgrading our management structure which fits the larger plan. We are sure this is going to produce some fruitful results for the entire team, and I could not be more excited about my new responsibilities as the CMO.” 

    Manish has secured a BTech (ECE) from Vellore Institute of Technology. He started his professional career with Accenture as an ASE, working as MainFrames Developer for a reputed Insurance Client, post which he joined PrepInsta.

    “Manish has a very clear approach towards the company’s targets, and with his insights on the industry he is all geared up to drive the marketing front completely. Being the third most funded startups sector in India, edtech has a lot of opportunities, but so is the competition.     Mumbai: The global digital skill provider, Simplilearn, has appointed Will Lin as the new chief marketing officer. He brings to the company more than 20 years of international experience & proven track record in scaling data-driven ROI-focused marketing operations and taking them to the next level.  

    Recently, Simplilearn has also appointed Mohit Yadav & Sujoy Ghosh as vice presidents in the growth and tech verticals, respectively. They will be playing key roles in driving growth and transformation in the company. The addition of a new leader will act as a catalyst in the future ventures of the company.

    He will be responsible for the overall global brand and digital marketing strategy of the company to further amplify Simplilearn’s brand awareness and to drive the transformation of marketing into a data and revenue driven function.

Prior to joining Simplilearn, he served as the chief marketing officer & chief digital officer at RentPath where he built a world-class consumer marketing program focused on renter acquisition & growth and was instrumental in its eventual $600 million acquisition by Redfin.

    While at VRBO, Will managed a nine-figure marketing budget for 50+ websites across 20+ countries and contributed to the company’s growth which led to eventual $2 billion sale to Expedia.

    Mumbai: Xiaomi India announces its partnership with YouTube to offer extended free trials of YouTube Premium to eligible users on select current devices. 

    Eligible customers will receive up to three months of YouTube Premium free of charge, in a move to give users access to the best content ad-free and offline, wherever available. 

    YouTube Premium benefits include a subscription to YouTube Music premium where users can get unlimited, ad-free access to more than 80 million official songs plus live performances, covers, and remixes.

    Commenting on the partnership, Xiaomi chief marketing officer Anuj Sharma said ,”With content consumption on rise with each passing day, we believe that consumers want to experience quality content in an uninterrupted manner. We are happy to partner with YouTube and offer Xiaomi consumers an opportunity to watch their favourite content without any hindrance.     Mumbai: Procter & Gamble (P&G) India on Tuesday announced its commitment to improve the accessibility of brand advertising to people with sight and hearing impairments by 2024.

    “The initiative will make P&G brands more inclusive and accessible to all members of our community. P&G also announced that it will sensitize students pursuing advertising and marketing courses on accurate portrayal and representation of women in advertising,” the company said in a statement.

    P&G will partner with leading marketing and communication colleges to shape the next generation of marketers and advertisers. Along with this, P&G also reinforced its commitment to continue leveraging the voice of its brands to have conversations that bust myths, break biases & shatter stereotypes.   

    P&G’s chief marketing officer Sharat Verma said, “At P&G, we want to step up and use our voice to be a force for growth and force for good.     Mumbai: Fixcraft appointed Vivek Sharma as marketing advisor to accelerate the company’s growth through marketing excellence and brand building.

    Sharma has been a part of the industry for 32 years. He brings on board a unique experience of business and brand development across FMCG, healthcare, lighting, consumer durables and home improvement, encompassing B2C, B2B and B2G.

    For seven years, Sharma served as a chief marketing officer at Pidilite. During his long stint with Pidilite, he was responsible for marketing planning, implementation and brand development for all divisions, corporate brand, innovation and marketing talent development across the organisation.

    He was also the vice president Indian sub-continent at Philips India Ltd. He held many senior positions across various organisations such as Cadbury (now Mondelez), Ogilvy advertising and MIRC electronics (ONIDA).

    Sharma regularly teaches and delivers marketing lectures at premier B schools like IIMs, ISB and SPJIMR. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore and Bachelor of Technology from Indian School of Mines (now IIT, Dhanbad).

    Mumbai: FMCG major Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) on Wednesday announced the appointment of Madhusudhan Rao and Deepak Subramanian to its management committee. While Rao is named as HUL executive director – beauty and wellbeing and personal care, Subramanian is HUL executive director – home care.

    Rao takes over from Priya Nair, who is elevated to global role as HUL chief marketing officer – beauty and wellbeing. Subramanian succeeds Prabha Narasimhan, who has decided to leave the company to pursue an external opportunity, HUL said in a statement.

    “Madhusudhan has a successful track record in a variety of operational and strategic roles. He has brought in a strong performance edge in his teams and has pioneered several innovations that uphold Unilever’s high science and technology credentials,” commented HUL chairman and MD Sanjiv Mehta. “Deepak has championed innovation and sustainable strategies to significantly improve brand equity and deliver growth. He has demonstrated superior business acumen in building new categories, primarily in start-up business verticals. I am certain that they will take the business to the next level of performance.”

    Talking about Nair’s contribution to the business, Mehta said, “She has been an active champion for building future skills and experimentation, and has led several path-breaking marketing initiatives such as the Kan Khajura Tesan. Under her leadership, the business witnessed high growth in key categories driven by consumer-centric innovations and award-winning, purpose-driven communication.”

    “Prabha led home care to deliver a strong performance across South Asia over the last two years. She has contributed immensely towards embedding the Clean Future agenda into the Home Care product development strategy,” he further said about Narasimhan.

    Rao joined HUL in 1991 and he is currently serving as Unilever EVP – home and hygiene. In his 30+ years in the company, he demonstrated a strong performance track record in marketing, customer development and brand development roles across geographies. In his current role, Rao helped shape the home and hygiene category as a successful business with a distinctive high-performance culture, said the statement.

    Currently working as VP – home care, South-East Asia/ANZ (SEAA) and global head – fabric enhancers, Subramanian joined HUL in 1995 as a management trainee. He significantly improved the profitability of the business, whilst strengthening top-line growth. In his global role, Subramanian helped transform the fabric enhancers category by driving innovations and re-positioning the brands to have more social impact, according to the company.

    Recently, the company also announced the separation of the position of chairman of the board and the CEO and managing director. HUL announced the appointment of Nitin Paranjpe, currently chief operating officer of Unilever as non-executive chairman of the company, with effect from 31 March. However, Sanjiv Mehta will continue as HUL chief executive officer and managing director.

    The FMCG giant reported a strong all-around performance for the third quarter. The company’s growth was competitive and profitable. The net profit surged to Rs 2,243 with 17 per cent growth year-on-year, according to the statement.

    Mumbai: Global SaaS platform provider FarEye has announced the appointment of Judd Marcello as chief marketing officer (CMO), based in the United States. The news comes soon after the announcement of Chicago as FarEye’s North America headquarters and the movement of its CEO Kushal Nahata to North America.

    In this newly created role, Marcello will lead all facets of marketing to drive brand awareness and growth in key global regions, including the Americas, said the statement.

    Mumbai: Streaming giant Netflix has elevated Marian Lee to the role of chief marketing officer. Lee succeeds Bozoma Saint John, who has moved on from the company.

    Lee will be Netflix’s fourth chief marketing officer in three years.

    She joined the company in July 2021 as vice president of marketing in the United States and Canada overseeing marketing for the streaming service. She was previously associated with Spotify for eight years. She has held leadership positions in fashion brands such as J Crew and Gilt.com and publisher Conde Nast.

    Saint John, who joined Netflix in 2020, is a high-profile marketer who was CMO at Endeavour, chief brand officer at Uber and head of global consumer marketing for Apple Music and iTunes after Apple acquired Beats by Dre in 2014.

During his tenure, he strategised and drove the entire device journey from order placement, customer support, order fulfillment and liquidation. He also led the planning, development and execution for a one-of-a-kind Reverse Logistics Platform and Operations Unit for smartphones while strategising operations for efficiency through product and training. In his new role, he will focus more on the expansion of the enterprise solutions and will continue exploring international markets for Cashify.

    Aksh Chauhan joined Cashify as VP for logistics and has been working with Cashify for the last 6.5 years. With his self-driven entrepreneurial leadership skills, he has aided in building Cashify’s robust supply chain network for better control and efficiency to support rapid growth. In his new role, he will be leading Ooperations at Cashify and focus on building the ecosystem for a circular Eeconomy in the used smartphone category.

    Shubh Darpan has been working with Cashify for the last 4.3 years and played an integral role in redefining business with a strong data-led approach. His skills in pricing, customer acquisition & growth, data analytics & BI have led Cashify to grow on a limitless road of profit. In his new role, he will be in charge of pricing, growth & revenue with the primary focus on building the D2C channel for refurbished mobiles.
