    Ipsos appoints new APAC CEO and chief client officer

    Mumbai: Ipsos, one of the world’s largest research companies, has announced the appointment of long-time Ipsos global executive Hamish Munro as its new APAC CEO, and current South-East Asia CEO, Suresh Ramalingam, as its new chief client officer for the APAC region. Both appointments are effective immediately.

    Munro moves into his new remit after three years as Ipsos’ global head of interactive services. Since joining the company in 2013, Munro has also had stints as CEO of Australia and New Zealand (2013– 2015), CEO of South-East Asia (2016 – 2017) and CEO of APAC operations (2017 – 2019).

    Having worked and lived across Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan, Munro is set to bring broad international operational and research management experience to his new role, along with more than two decades of diverse market research and leadership.

    Munro will replace current Ipsos APEC CEO, Christophe Cambournac, who will move into a global role with the business.

    Ramalingam moves into his new role after four years as CEO for Ipsos’ South-East Asian markets. Prior to joining Ipsos, Ramalingam spent more than 20 years at Nielsen, working across its emerging markets in various leadership roles and the most recent one as managing director of consumer insights across LATAM, EMEA and South-East Asia, based in Dubai.

    In his new remit, Ramalingam will lead the client organization for Ipsos’ APAC region and will be based in Kuala Lumpur.

    Ipsos CEO Ben Page said Munro and Ramalingam were set to bring a wealth of industry experience and corporate knowledge to their new roles.

    “Munro has been an integral part of the global Ipsos team since 2013, sharing his 25-plus years’ experience in market research, marketing, communications and account management roles,” Page said.

    Havas Media Group India elevates Uday Mohan as president & chief client officer

    Mumbai: Havas Media Group India on Monday announced the elevation of Uday Mohan to the role of president and chief client officer, effective immediately. This new announcement is aligned with Havas Group India’s vision of building strong leadership across each of its agencies, said the company.

    In this new role, Mohan will continue to report into Havas Media Group India CEO Mohit Joshi. “I have completed 15 years with Havas Media Group India, while Uday has spent 14 years. Uday is a friend, partner and key to the resurgence of the Media Group in the last few years,” said Joshi. “He has been working closely with me and the leadership team to turn around Gurgaon operations into one of the largest in India; and in scaling up the Mumbai operations by forging strong client relationships, wins with marquee clients such as Tata Motors CVBU, TVS Tyres, ACC & Ambuja Cement among others. I look forward to his continued support and leadership.”

    The elevation comes on the heels of Mohan’s stint of 14 years with Havas Media Group India, during which he has consolidated his role as an effective leader and a strong partner to several clients. Over the last few years, Mohan drove innovation, transformation, and meaningful media strategy for clients, during extremely volatile market conditions. It led Havas Media Group India to garner strong growth, increase market share, win prominent clients and many industry awards and recognition, the agency said in a statement.

    Mumbai: dentsu international has announced the creation of a new market leadership role of chief client officer (CCO) and elevated Narayan Devanathan to this position for India. Most recently, Devanathan was dentsu Solutions CEO, dentsu India president of strategy & integration, and dentsu Creative APAC lead for strategy & consulting.

    The development is seen as a key part of the dentsu India 2.0 transformation agenda. While a CEO for dentsu India is being recruited, Devanathan will report into global CEO media and global clients and interim co-CEO for India Peter Huijboom.
