    BARC week 27: Nick leads kids genre; CN jumps to second spot

    MUMBAI: Continuing its reign as a genre lead, Viacom 18’s Nick was again the topmost watched channel in the kids entertainment segment, according to Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India’s all India (U+R) data for week 27 in NCCS All 4-14 Individuals category.

    The channel has bagged 81167 (000s sums) as opposed to 86062 (000s sums) impressions last week showing a drop in its ratings, Nick is followed by Turner International’s Cartoon Network which has jumped from fourth to second position by securing 68299 (000s sums) impressions from 48093 (000s sums) in week 26.

    Cartoon Network is followed by Hungama from Disney India on the third spot with 57530 (000s sums) impressions and Pogo TV 56313 (000s sums) impressions giving it the fourth rank on the list.

    These are followed closely at heel by Disney Channel which has seen a significant drop in its viewership from 61691 (000s sums) last week to 52522(000s sums) this week.

    When it comes to the top five most watched programs in the genre, Motu Patlu and Chhota Bheem has yet again proved itselves as genre favourites.

    Nick’s Motu Patlu In Double Trouble lead the chart with 1071 (000s sums), followed by Motu Patlu Mission Moon from the same franchise grabbing the second spot with with 665 (000s sums) impressions.

    With a slightly lower ratings of 643 (000s sums) Motu Patlu Kungfu King Returns was third most watched show in the category while Chhota Bheem: Dholakpur To Japan was fourth in the list with 522 (000s sums).

    Chhota Bheem: Dholakpur to Kathmandu was fifth in the list with 515 (000s sums) viewership impressions. Overall one could notice a drop in total viewership in the genre.

    The channel has bagged a  90790 (000s sums) ratings, followed by Turner International’s  Pogo TV with 83948 (000s sums) and Hungama on the third spot with 69233 (000s sums) ratings.

    Turner International’s Cartoon Network  wason the fourth spot with a viewership rating of 64472(000s sums), while Disney Channel came last amongst the five most watched channels in the genre with a rating of 64360 (000s sums).

    When it comes to top five programs in the kids genre, Nick’s Motu Patlu Kungfu Kings stole the show with a rating of 944 (000s sums) closely followed by Chhota Bheem & Krishna: Pataliputra- City of the Dead  with  817 (000s sums) ratings.

    Nick’s  Motu Patlu Deep Sea Adventure  took the third spot with a slightly lower rating of  744(000s sums), while  the Pogo TV’s  Tashi   took the fourth spot  with a viewership rating of 675 (000s sums)  followed  by the same channel’s  Chhota Bheem: Paanch Ajoobe at the last spot with 658 (000s sums) ratings.

Fun, frolic, cakes and cookies and a bundle-full of happy times is in store for the viewers as Chhota Bheem celebrates his Super Birthday on 1 May on POGO with the premiere of the first ever 3D animated movie, exciting new episodes and to top it all a lucky winner gets a chance to celebrate Chhota Bheem’s birthday at his home.

    So let the good times begin as Pogo celebrates Chhota  Bheem’s birthday with the premiere of Main Hoon Super Bheem 3D Movie on 1May 2016 at 10:30AM. Chhota Bheem and his friends take a ride with Sky Dragon to the magical realm Saamantar. They befriend Baboks, the people of the kingdom and understand their strong and proud race that age to protect the ‘Jadooi Jantar.’ But the Evil Hokum has a different plan in mind and threatens to acquire the Jantar with destruction. Hokum approaches with anger and spells, and Bheem & team gear ahead to take him down along with his minion Barooda. This magical fantasy ride with Chhota Bheem is just the first piece of cake.

    VOOT plans to launch separate app for kids

    MUMBAI: Viacom 18’s latest offering, its OTT arm VOOT, is banking heavily on the network’s rich kids content. Not only that, it plans to go beyond the network’s flagship shows like Motu Patlu and Shiva, and acquire kids content from an array of producers, small and large.

    The OTT player has already acquired digital rights to internationally acclaimed properties like Pokémon and Chhota Bheem for the platform that went live yesterday.

    “The idea is to bring together the top character shows under one digital platform to make the most of this booming market for kids content online with the aim being a market leader in the domain,” said Viacom 18 Digital Ventures COO Gaurav Gandhi.

    When quizzed about the possibility of VOOT launching a separate app for kids, Gandhi shared that they are considering it ‘within a year’s’ time. Currently the OTT platform has a separate section for kids’ content within the same app.
