    CM Devendra Fadnavis confirms implementation of NEP’s three-language formula in Maharashtra at ‘Mumbai Tak Baithak’

    MUMBAI: Mumbai Tak, the digital news platform from the India Today Group, successfully hosted its premier event, ‘Mumbai Tak Baithak’, yesterday in Mumbai. The event served as a dynamic platform for dialogue on Maharashtra’s political, social, and developmental landscape, bringing together an influential array of leaders, thinkers, and first-time legislators.

    Delivering a significant policy update, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that the three-language formula outlined in the National Education Policy (NEP) will be implemented across the state. During his keynote interaction, Fadnavis also hinted at potential BJP strategies for upcoming municipal elections, stating that while the party may form alliances for the BMC elections, it may also contest independently in other municipal corporations.

    The event featured a distinguished line-up of participants including deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde, senior leaders Balasaheb Thorat, Chhagan Bhujbal, Aditya Thackeray, and Bala Nandgaonkar, as well as a new generation of public representatives such as Sneha Dubey, Babasaheb Deshmukh, and Sana Malik. Further enriching the discussions, Padma Shri awardee and social activist Girish Prabhune, and renowned economist and public intellectual Dr. Narendra Jadhav, and the special public prosecutor, who has also been nominated as the member of Parliament by the President of India, Ujjwal Nikam shared their insights on governance, equity, and regional development.

    Maharashtra to attract tourists from North India

    NEW DELHI- In a most aggressive marketing plan, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has kick started its mission to attract tourists from North Indian states by opening its tourist information centre in this part of the country. Maharashtra Tourism aims to cover 10 prominent cities of India to promote tourist destinations of Maharashtra having already opened a tourist information centre in Hyderabad recently.

     

    Starting with its marketing campaign in Delhi on Friday, Maharashtra Tourism is all set to attract the tourists from Delhi and surrounding states by setting up Tourist Information Centre at Hotel Janpath.

     

    Shri Chhagan Bhujbal, Honorable Minister of Tourism, Government of Maharashtra, said, “We already attract maximum foreign tourists and now we are also focusing on attracting domestic tourists in large numbers. Maharashtra has everything in terms of tourist destinations. It is an unlimited resource for beach lovers, adventure sport lovers, honeymoon travelers, pilgrimages and sites of historical importance and for nature lovers. Maharashtra is one of the most developed States of India with a large class of educated and affluent society.”

     

    Maharashtra is always known for its rich culture, art and festivals. The State is blessed with the world famous World Heritage Sites like the caves of Ajanta-Ellora, 720km long coastline, pilgrimages like Shirdi-Saibaba, Entertainment Capital – Mumbai, Buddhist Pagoda at Gorai (Mumbai), hill stations like Mahabaleshwar-Panchgani and Matheran, wildlife sanctuaries of Tadoba-Pench and India’s wine capital-Nashik.

     

    Dr. Jagdish Patil, Managing Director, MTDC, said, “MTDC has been taking several progressive steps to encourage tourism in Maharashtra. Along with this facility in Delhi, we are also hosting a road-show for the tour operators to promote Maharashtra as a preferred tourist destination. It will be an interactive session with the tour operators about how best we can improve the number of tourists visiting from North India to Maharashtra.” Apart from Delhi, MTDC is planning to unveil their tourist offices in Lucknow and Tirupati in the near future.
    The information pertaining to all destinations and tourist information will be available at the new office of MTDC which will become one point source of information for the tourist enthusiasts from North India and tour operators.

    MUMBAI: It was late in the evening. The anchors Ashwin Bapat and Prajakta Dharmadhikari (those familiar with them will know them as ABP Majha news professionals) were ready in their Indian attire on stage which had an old world ambience, of times gone past, with magnificent golden heritage pillars bedecking it.

    In the audience were chief guest, Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar and tourism minister Chhagan Bhujbal.

    The occasion: Marathi news channel ABP Majha’s evening get together to unveil a programming initiative ‘7 wonders of Maharahtra’ as decided by a jury and ABP Majha viewers.

    The locations in Maharashtra which made it to the list: The Ajanta Caves, Lonar Crater, Raigad Fort, Kas Plateau , Daulatabad Fort, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and Global Pagoda.

    Supported by Maharashtra Tourism, the initiative saw almost 2.2 million votes pouring in from TV viewers. And the prominent jury panel included big names like Asiatic Society’s president Aroon Tikekar, conservation architect Vikas Dilawari, MTDC (Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation) MD Dr. Jagdish Patil, film actress and author Nishigandha Wad, heritage conservation committee chairman V Ranganathan, ABP Majha chief editor Rajiv Khandekar and archaeologist Arvind Jamkhedkar.

    Speaking about the selection process jury member, archaeologist Jamkhedkar said, “60 locations were chosen by channel and out of that we had selected 14 locations for the audiences to vote upon. In my personal opinion, I feel that these kind of shows will certainly boost the Maharashtra tourism.”

    “ABP Majha realises the rich heritage and culture of the state of Maharashtra. ‘7 Wonders of Maharashtra’ is a step forward to reinforce the belief of every Maharashtrian in their heritage. The state has a lot of wonders, but the ones who will make it to the list of top 7 wonders will be decided by a stringent process of selection by the eminent jury and citizens voting.”Added media content & communication services (MCCS) CEO Ashok Venkatramani, “The marketing team came up with the idea of this event. We are trying to do something different from other channels. Our idea has always been to link with the society in a better manner.”

    ABP Majha chief editor Rajiv Khandekar says a lot went into coming up with the 7 Wonders of Maharashtra concept. “We selected 350 places across the state and then we spoke to the experts from the districts and asked people, which place they would want to add in this list? Every day we were telecasting about the nominated places. Promos were constantly on air and we also telecast a thirty minutes special show. We have carried news capsules in our bulletin also.”
