    Channel [V]’s ‘Get Gorgeous’ to premiere on 1 July

    Channel [V]'s Get Gorgeous will premiers on 1 July 2004 at 8:00 pm. The hunt for India's next supermodels. presented by LG CDMA and powered by Elite will be aired as a 13-episode series.

    The televised will take the viewers through the high drama and excitement of a nationwide search to identify women who have what it takes the potential to Get Gorgeous.

    The first episode captures the excitement of the Get Gorgeous parties held in Delhi, Kolkata, Pune, Bangalore, Chennai & Mumbai where thousands of Cinderella hopefuls tried their luck to become India`s next supermodel, says a company release.

    Helping Channel [V] and Elite in their quest to select 16 finalists from the thousands of entries is fashion expert Hemant Trivedi. The lucky 16 are then taken to Goa where an expert panel consisting of renowned fitness instructor Mickey Mehta, ace lens man Sameer Parekh, well-known choreographers Tanya and Aparna, designer Aparna Chandra and make-up expert Ambika Pillai along with Hemant Trivedi are all set to transform these 16 beauties into India`s next supermodels.

    The associate sponsor are Bausch&Lomb, Ayur herbal and Liberty footwear, style advisor Elle, an on-ground partner – Café Coffee day.

  • 8 awards: Channel [V]’s Promax & BDA haul

    MUMBAI: Channel [V] has bagged eight awards at the Promax & BDA’04 awards held in New York on 24 June.

    [V] is the first Indian music channel to win eight awards at the awards function.
     
     

    The channel has won accolades in a variety of categories including art direction, image promos, sound design, and on-air sales promotion.

    According to a [V] release, the most talked about promos like T Catch Phrases -Interstitial, Soap ID, Creative Bug ID, Mohan and Sharda (Popstars 2 promo), Rai University, Solid Climax and the My Type TV id have been awarded.

    “Our promos team has done India proud, first they got 17 nominations and now eight awards! It really feels great to have won in the face of stiff international competition, ” Channel [V] head honcho Amar K Deb was quoted in the statement as saying.

    While the Promax awards are awarded to promotion and marketing professionals working in today’s electronic media, the BDA design awards are the accolades for outstanding design contributions in the broadcast media industries.

    The awards are presented to companies and individuals whose work is judged by a panel of promotion and marketing professionals using three measures: overall creativity, production quality, and results in achieving marketing objectives, says the release.
