    MUMBAI: Global superstars One Direction have further given details about the event, ‘1D Day’ that marks the release of their new album ‘Midnight Memories.’

     

    ‘1D Day’ will give people from every corner of the globe a unique opportunity to enter into One Direction’s world, through a seven-hour live broadcast with the band on 23 November between 7pm – 2am (GMT).

     

    ‘1D Day’ will be broadcast on YouTube & Google+, so One Direction fans around the world can watch live at the same time. The broadcast will include behind the scenes footage, exclusive plays of tracks from their new album ‘Midnight Memories’, Guinness World record attempts, and special guests including Robbie Williams, Celine Dion, Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan, The Muppets and many more.

     

    ‘1D Day’ will also broadcast live into Doctor Who Live: The Afterparty on BBC3. The show will feature a host of previous doctors and their time-travelling companions.

     

    Fans who have taken part in 1D Day challenges over the past few weeks will have the chance to spot their work on screen and people will be able to join in the fun in a variety of ways; using the hashtag #1DDayLive, swiping the screen to get rewards with the Zappar app and play along with the official 1D Day quiz.

     

    The ultimate reward for fans from around the world is getting the opportunity to hang out with the guys and participate live in the stream. The band will be surprising fans by dropping into their Google+ Hangout parties and chatting live face-to-face in a special feature called ‘One Big Drop In.’  

     

    “‘1D Day’ is all about giving back to our amazing fans for supporting us for the past three years. When we suggested it we never thought anyone would let us loose LIVE all day – we cannot wait!” said Liam of the band.

     

    One Direction recently finished a worldwide tour, and are releasing their hugely anticipated third studio album ‘Midnight Memories’ on the 25 November.  The band has also announced a worldwide stadium tour for 2014.

    MUMBAI: The annual Forbes magazine list has put out its list of the wealthiest women in entertainment and there are no new surprises on who occupies the top spot.

    U.S. talk show host and media mogul Oprah Winfrey tops the list with an an estimated $1.5 billion during her career. JK Rowling, who is finishing the seventh and final instalment in her boy wizard series Harry Potter, ranks second with $1 billion. Martha Stewart another talk show host is third with $638 million.
    Madonna ranks fourth with $325 million, followed by Celine Dion ($250 million), Mariah Carey ($225 million), Janet Jackson ($150 million), Julia Roberts ($140 million), and Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer Lopez (both $110 million).

    Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, the twin actresses who started out on the ’80s comedy Full House and created a multimedia empire, Dualstar Entertainment Group, are No. 11 with an estimated “combined net worth at around $100 million,” Forbes said. They’re followed by Britney Spears, Judge Judy Sheindlin of TV’s Judge Judy, Sandra Bullock, Cameron Diaz, Gisele Bundchen, Ellen DeGeneres, Nicole Kidman, Christina Aguilera and Renee Zellweger. Forbes stated that to make its top-20 list these female megastars needed a minimum net worth of $45 million amassed over the course of their careers.

    Singer Celine Dion to make appearance on NBC’s show ‘Deal Or No Deal’

    MUMBAI: Superstar singer Celine Dion will make a special guest appearance on the special 90-minute season finale of US broadcaster NBC’s reality show Deal or No Deal.

    The show raises the stakes as the top prize money increases from one to five million dollars on 5 June. During the finale high school guidance counselor Casey Bell of Temecula, California is the lucky contestant. She will be surprised with a chance to become a millionaire five times over when the new stakes are revealed. Does she have the nerves of steel needed when she is confronted with life-altering financial decisions in a highly pressured environment?

    She gets a little help from her family, friends and a surprise guest when she serenades the banker with a song by her all-time favorite musical artist, Celine Dion. Dion joins Bell’s support team live via satellite from Las Vegas and helps Bell during crucial decision making moments when host Howie Mandel asks the all-important question, “deal, or no deal?”

    A Deal or No Deal aficionado, Dion watches the show with her family. She says, “Around our house, Deal or No Deal rules! My son Rene-Charles is a very enthusiastic ‘at home’ contestant, and my husband and I are right there with him! It was a thrill for me to participate and give encouragement to the contestant on the show.”

    Hosted by Howie Mandel Deal or No Deal sees contestants play for a large cash prize in a high-energy match of nerves, instincts and raw intuition. Each night, the game of odds and chance unfolds when a contestant faces 26 sealed briefcases containing anything from a penny to one million dollars. Without knowing the amount in each briefcase, the contestant picks one — his to keep, if he chooses, until its unsealing at game’s end.
