    Turner channels build buzz around ‘Batman v/s Superman: Dawn of Justice’

    MUMBAI: With the craziness surrounding the Batman v/s Superman: Dawn of Justice movie which will hit the cinema halls on 25 March, Turner operated channels are pulling out all stops to make viewers a key part of the experience. The celebrations will kick-start with a competition to attend exclusive red carpet events in India and Europe. Winners will also get the opportunity to win exclusive merchandise.

    There is also a special treat for fan-boys and girls on Toonami, which will showcase special Batman and Superman movies on Saturdays and Sundays at 11:45 am. On the other hand, all of Turner’s kids channels- Cartoon Network, POGO and Toonami will also have special contests for the superhero fans that will help them win exclusive movie merchandise.

    Living up to its new brand philosophy #LikeNeverBefore, HBO will give the consumers once in a lifetime opportunity via its new mobile app. Viewers can download RUSHH, and can get a chance to enter a competition to win a chance to rub shoulders with celebrities on red-carpet premiere events in London, Delhi and Mumbai.

    WB channel will also air a spellbinding ‘choose your side’ teaser which will be promoted across social media and numerous digital platforms.

    MUMBAI:Pogo TV’s Chhota Bheem and the Incan Adventure topped the program list for week 10, which saw Viacom 18’s Nick staying strong at its top position as per  Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India’s all India (U+R) data in NCCS All 4-14 Individuals category.

    Nickl bagged  77946 (000s sums) ratings, followed by Pogo TV with 74796 (000s sums) and Disney Channel was next with 58329 (000s sums) ratings. Turner’s Cartoon Network  took the fourth spot with a viewership rating of 56442 (000s sums), while Hungama came last among the five most watched channels in the genre with a rating of 53974 (000s sums).

    Amongst the top five programs in the kids genre, as mentioned above, Pogo TV’s  Chhota Bheem and the Incan Adventure took the lead with a rating of 713 (000s sums) closely followed by Nickelodeon’s  Motu Patlu Mission Moon  with 695 (000s sums) ratings. POGO TV’s  Tashi  took the third spot with a slightly lower rating of 665 (000s sums), while  its Chhota Bheem Dholakpur Maha Mela  followed after 643 (000s sums) ratings. Last but not the least among the top five program’s list was Nick’s Motu Patlu Deep Sea Adventure  with a ratings of 573(000 sums) . It must be noted that the top program ranking is based on average rating across all airings in the week, including original telecasts and repeats.

    MUMBAI  Reimagined and ready for action, The Powerpuff Girls will return to Cartoon Network right across Asia Pacific in an all-new series on 9 April , just days after the global premiere in the US.

    In addition to the debut on 85 million homes on Cartoon Network, Turner’s other kids channels in the region – Boomerang, Toonami and POGO – will also air the premiere at the same time as Oh!K, TCM Turner Classic Movies, Warner TV and truTV. Simultaneously, channels operated by affiliate partners – notably Astro Ceria in Malaysia and TV5 in Philippines – will also be a part of the launch.

    In the digital space, The Powerpuff Girls series will be supported by video and games on the Cartoon Network Watch and Play and Cartoon Network Anything apps, on Cartoon Network’s regional websites and full episodes on iTunes in selected markets.

Whatever channel you turn to on April 9, and whatever screen you’re using, there will be Blossom, Buttercup and Bubbles saving the day before bedtime!     The Powerpuff Girls is produced by Cartoon Network Studios, with Nick Jennings (Adventure Time, SpongeBob SquarePants) serving as executive producer and Bob Boyle (Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!) as co-executive producer.

    One of Cartoon Network’s most enduring original series, the initial run of The Powerpuff Girls, created by Craig McCracken, premiered in 1996 and earned two Emmy® Awards along with five nominations and countless animation honors throughout its 78-episodes. The series also spawned a feature film with Warner Bros. Pictures in 2002.

    With more than US$2.5 billion in retail sales generated since its debut, The Powerpuff Girls is one of the top-grossing Cartoon Network brands of all time, and the new series will be supported by a comprehensive consumer products campaign. Cartoon Network recently partnered with designer Jeremy Scott and Moschino on a global fashion collaboration – The Powerpuff Girls x Jeremy Scott – which is now available as part of Moschino’s spring/summer 2016 collection.     The channel continued to retain its top position  with 77619 (000s sums) ratings, followed by Turner International India Pogo Tv with a rating of 60792(000s sums). Cartoon Network has fared better this week at the third spot with a viewership rating of 55414(000s sums) as opposed to 53108(00s sums) last week.

    Following close on Cartoon Network’s heels, Hungama grabbed the fourth spot with a viewership rating of 55388 (000s sums), while Disney Channel  was last amongst the five most watched channels in the genre with a rating of 53835(000s sums)

    When it comes to top five programs in the kids genre, Nick’s  Motu Patlu Deep Sea Adventure  and  Motu Patlu, Kungfu, King Returns reigned at the top two positions with 702(000s sums) and 568(000s sums) ratings respectively. These were closely followed Pogo TV’s  Chhota Bheem: Mission Mangalyaan which took on the third spot  with viewership rating of 564 (000s sums) and Chhota Bheem Himalayan Adventure at the fourth spot with 516 (000s sums ) ratings. The fifth most watched program in the kids genre was  Cartoon Network’s Kid Krrish with 493(000 sums). There has been an overall decline in viewership ratings in the genre.

    Cartoon Network beefs up March line up for kids

    MUMBAI: Cartoon Network’s latest programming content promises to make March an exciting month for its young viewers. Keeping the current topical issues in mind, Cartoon Network will be introducing three all-new special series – ‘Kris Ke Exam Tips’, ‘CN T20 League’ and ‘Colour Colour Which Colour?’

    As March marks the beginning of exam fever for kids, Cartoon Network’s favourite character Kris from Roll No. 21 has designed a special series for his fans to help them cope with examination stress. ‘Kris Ke Exam Tips’, the new series has started airing from 7 March at 1 pm and 8 pm respectively. Kris shares interesting and helpful exam tips with his friends to help them conquer their exam stress. Additionally a special on-air contest will be introduced to boost their confidence and morale before their examination. Lucky winners will stand a chance to win a lot of exciting prizes like laptops, PSPs, Kris goodie bags, etc.

    Cartoon Network has also launched another special series, ‘CN T20 League’ for the ardent cricket fans. ‘CN T20 League’ on 7 March, a show that will run Monday to Friday at 11:30 am.  CN T20 League will see Oggy, Henry, Kris and Haddi with all the characters competing with each other for 20 days in 20 power packed specials.

    Since March also marks the month of Holi, adding some more colourful shades to the screen, the channel has also planned a special surprise for its viewers. A unique series featuring Kris, Oggy and Haddi will see them enjoying the festival of colours in a segment ‘Colour Colour Which Colour?’ on 24 of March, 10 am onwards.

    ZEEL’s APAC territory launches ATL Media APAC

    MUMBAI: The APAC region of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) announced the launch of ‘ATL Media APAC’, a new division that will represent varied Indian and South Asian media businesses in the region for advertising sales.

    ‘ATL Media APAC’ will work with both mainstream and retail clients targeting the South Asian populations in the key markets across the region. A similar model is currently operational in the MENAP (Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan, and Pakistan) region where Zeel has tied up with several channels including Geo TV, Imagine Movies, Cartoon Network apart from its own portfolio of Zeel channels.

    Commenting on this new division, Zeel International Broadcast business CEO Amit Goenka said, “Our APAC business is on a fast track and ATL Media APAC will help us to consolidate and add new clients into the segment. We believe this initiative will be beneficial in helping us grow the overall Ad Sales pie for the South Asia channels.”

    Revealing further details on ATL Media APAC, APAC business media Sushruta Samanta said, “The new unit will be led by Deepali Gupta, Revenue Head, ATL Media APAC, who has more than 13 years of experience in advertising sales across media in India and APAC markets. I strongly believe that Deepali, whose new role is effective immediately, is the ideal candidate to lead this new division”.

    Zeel’s APAC’s region currently distributes eleven South Asian channels in the region targeting the India diaspora, apart from five localized channels for the local mainstream viewers. Zeel has an existing sales network across key APAC markets including Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Sydney & Jakarta.

    Deepali Gupta from Zeel’s Singapore office added, “The decision to launch this new division stems from the need to address the growing market fragmentation in the ethnic media space. The new service is a one stop shop for all media solutions which will help clients achieve significant results for their marketing campaigns and at best prices. We have already initiated discussions with other leading networks across media to represent them”.
