    McAdams to join Cameron Crowe’s next

    MUMBAI: Sherlock Holmes female lead Rachel McAdams is reportedly in talks to join the cast of the latest Cameron Crowe film, which already stars Bradley Cooper and Emma Stone.
     
    McAdams would play Cooper‘s ex-girlfriend in the romantic comedy. Media reports indicate that the film is about a defence contractor (Cooper) overseeing a weapons satellite launch from Hawaii who teams up with (and falls for) an Air Force pilot (Stone) to scuttle the launch. It also allegedly involves mystical island forces and a talking computer.
     
    McAdams has previously starred in acclaimed and commercially successfully movies like The Notebook, Midnight in Paris, Mean Girls and The Vow.

    Cameron Crowe to direct film with Emma Stone in female lead

    Mumbai: Cameron Crowe, who made his last film We Bought a Zoo for 20th Century Fox, has settled on his next film – a yet-to-be titled romantic drama that will star Emma Stone.
    Representatives of Crowe have confirmed that Sony has picked up the project based on the director‘s original script. The film would be produced by Scott Rudin with Crowe hoping to go on the floors this fall.
    Crowe‘s family entry We Bought a Zoo, that released last Christmas grossed $120 million worldwide.
    Stone (The Help) is no stranger to Sony; she stars in the studio‘s latest The Amazing Spider-Man. She‘ll next be seen in theatres in January in The Gangster Squad.
    The hunt is now on for the leading man.

    MTV, Rolling Stone team for reality series

    MUMBAI: Amateur journalists will vie for a year long position at Rolling Stone magazine in a new reality series for MTV US.

    Contestants will work with the veteran music magazine’s senior editors to develop their writing skills and secure interviews with artists, actors and politicians.

    Rolling Stone founder and publish Jann Wenner says, “Throughout our history we have seen the careers of some of the nation’s most notable journalists flourish, including Cameron Crowe and the late Hunter S. Thompson. We are anxious to meet the candidates and welcome them into the Rolling Stone family as they embark on their professional careers.”

    MTV executive VP programming Lois Curren says, “The series will capture the drama and excitement of the fast-paced world of Rolling Stone. Rolling Stone has long been an incubator for top journalists, which makes this an amazing opportunity for aspiring writers.”

    The show will be taped in New York from June through August and is expected to premiere later this year.
