Additional services are planned to be made available within GTPL Buzz in the near future. The app is available on the Android Play store as well as on iOS (Apple Store).

    Cloud Gaming: GTPL Buzz introduces the first-ever commercial launch of Blacknut Cloud Gaming in India. Blacknut Cloud Gaming is the world’s leading pure player cloud gaming service. The subscription-based game streaming service allows GTPL to offer the largest catalogue of premium AAA games with more than 500 premium titles to its customers. With Blacknut Cloud Gaming service, gamers can now enjoy their favorite titles anytime, anywhere, without the need to invest in expensive gaming consoles.     TV Everywhere: The GTPL Buzz app enables customers with active cable TV and/or broadband connections to view live TV content, anytime – anywhere, on their mobile devices, thus providing them the convenience of watching live TV channels anywhere for the true experience of TV Everywhere. The service, branded as GTPL Live TV, requires customers to simply login with their registered mobile number and enjoy the freedom to watch live TV channels across two additional devices simultaneously while continuing to watch all the available channels on their set top boxes.

    Distro TV: GTPL Buzz has also integrated the Distro TV services, which provides online streaming channels,  including a mix of news, sports, entertainment, and lifestyle content in Indian as well as international languages. This redefines GTPL’s entertainment landscape for its customers, offering seamless access to a global content library through GTPL Buzz. The TV Everywhere services and Distro TV services will also be available on the GTPL website soon.

    In line with the revamp of the app, GTPL’s website (www.gtpl.net) has also been upgraded and revamped with a version which is modern, minimalistic, uncluttered and user friendly. The TV Everywhere and Distro TV services will be available to the entire customer base of GTPL soon, a massive value addition to the existing subscribed GTPL services, at no additional cost. The company services 12 million digital cable TV homes and a million broadband homes; as on June 30, 2024, it has approximately 9.60 million active digital cable TV subs and 1.03 million broadband subscribers and a broadband homepass of about 5.90 million.

    GTPL’s chatbot Giva, recently upgraded and launched on WhatsApp is now available within GTPL Buzz as well as on the revamped website and is planned to be available soon on the GTPL Facebook handle.     Not long ago, there was apprehension among TV channels, DTH, and Cable TV operators regarding the rapid rise of OTT entertainment in India. However, the landscape has evolved significantly since then. Today, TV networks have adapted by launching their own OTT platforms, while DTH operators have shifted their approach to become aggregators of content.

    Indiantelevision.com on the sideline of the launch, caught up with Dish TV & Watcho corporate head of marketing Sukhpreet Singh. During the interview, Singh discussed the rationale behind the launch of their new initiative and shed light on the challenges encountered within the pay TV ecosystem and the DTH industry.

    Edited excerpts

    On the need of launching Dish TV Smart+

    The need is the fact that we are in the content distribution. We don’t differentiate between where the content is coming from Customers watch content in linear platforms as well as OTT. Our job was to bring all that together in a way which is a good experience and affordable for the customers.

    On the features that differentiate Dish TV Smart + from other Dish TV offerings

    First thing is we are the only DTH at a price of 200+ both that provides DTH and OTT. Secondly, we are the only one who’s providing a complete ecosystem of DTH plus OTT packs along with devices and OTT apps. I think we are the only one that is able to provide any screen, anywhere and anytime at that price point.

    On Dish TV Smart + integrating traditional satellite TV with online streaming services

    All the traditional satellite channels are available on hardboxes. If you look at it, we have our traditional boxes, connected boxes and our OTT app which doesn’t need a box. In that app, we have live TV, OTT content from various OTT apps. So if you take all of them together, whatever customer you are, whatever devices you have, we will be able to provide you with content.

    What was shown in the presentation was pay TV + smart TV. There is going to be a lot of hybrid consumption, that is what we are trying to tell. If you only look at the pure pay TV, they might not grow. If you take pay TV, smart TV and all the hybrid consumption, that will work. What we are seeing is people are watching a lot of content, even if it’s streaming content, they are watching it a lot on television. Consumption on television is not decreasing, that is what we described. That increase is basically pay TV and smart TV. People are gonna watch a lot more content on television and like I said, it is very narrow to describe yourself as the only satellite and DTH provider. Most of the major broadcasters are providing traditional linear services also and streaming & OTT services. Most of the major OTT apps come from the broadcasters. They are also trying to innovate. It brings me back to the point that it doesn’t matter where the content is coming from and there are all types of customers. Even in a single family, there are people watching television, there are people watching OTT only on their mobile, there are people watching OTT on smart TVs. Our job is to provide content for the modern Indian family.

    Yes! The numbers which you can see in the TRAI reports, they are all in sync. We all know that if we are talking about only traditional ways of watching content then obviously it will come down. But we have to look at our business which is providing content whether it is traditional or new, doesn’t matter. Every traditional thing changes into new. Our core business is providing content. If the traditional way is coming down, then the new way will go up. If we are focused only on the traditional way, we will also go down.

    On the future of content consumption in India

    The way we see it from the business perspective, the number of hours that people spend while watching content is exploding. People have so much content to watch that they get confused. Right from niche content to blockbuster ones, everything is available along with many languages. Now you have such high quality content in regional languages. Even if you take a very niche language, then you will find a lot of beautiful content available, thanks to OTT platforms that are making it possible. So it’s a great time for content, it’s a great time for consuming content for all kinds of screens and our job is to make it possible.

    Mumbai: The government may take strict action against the unlicensed agencies issuing viewership data for TV and internet-connected platforms.

    As per the government guidelines, these platforms are in violation of the policy for TRP in India which also covers the measurement of online video platforms. Recently, an agency issued a viewership report for TV news channels. As per industry experts, most of these reports are motivated and at times are even paid by channels being shown as number one.

    The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting requires all Television Rating Agencies to register themselves and follow the policy guidelines laid down by the Ministry in respect of television ratings.

    The guidelines provide for strict conditions and obligations to be compulsorily met, including ensuring that ratings are tech-neutral and capture data across multiple viewing platforms including Cable TV, DTH, Terrestrial TV and online platforms.

    Mumbai: At first sight, you would probably assume that Zee Media chief business officer Joy Chakraborthy has been a pugilist at some time in his life. With hefty arms, a broad stocky physique, he normally strides across the room like a man with a mission, with a purpose.

    Always ready for a good scrap, he has got into it by jumping back into the highly competitive TV news business at the invitation of media innovator and promoter Subhash Chandra when he joined the Zee news network six weeks ago to get its cash coffers overflowing once again.

    “I’ve spent a large part of my working life being in the news business. I was on the founding team of Star News, I worked in TV Today, Network18,” says the dimpled Chakraborthy with a huge smile. “There is no better place than Zee to work at. To come back to Zee which is like home to me and to work with a boss who gives me so much freedom to work, it’s a delight.”

    With his revenue portfolio covering digital, linear, marketing, and distribution (international & domestic), Chakraborthy has since joining been making whistle stop visits to advertising agencies, marketing clients, digital outfit and distribution partners across India.

    “I like to lead from the front, meet everyone and tell them about what we plan to do on our FPC, programming, advertising packaging, and branded solutions. I have been to Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Delhi,” he says. “My meetings have also led me getting a lot of feedback.”

    Chakraborthy says the agencies and brands are telling him that the TV news industry is in a bit of a mess as far as their perception of it is concerned.

    “The news genre is under stress in terms of evaluation. The marketer is beginning to wonder who is really No 1 as every channel is claiming it is No 1,” reveals Chakraborthy. “Brand custodians don’t slice and dice viewership for news as we are doing. Yes, they put in some numbers like the affinity index but they buy the genre differently as it is bought for frequency/OTS and for a B2B connect.”

    According to him, this No 1 claiming syndrome has led to confusion amongst brands leading to most of the news channels filling up their advertising inventory to the tune of only 65-70 per cent as recently as a few weeks ago. “In all the years I have been in the industry, news channels have been overflowing with inventory, unlike today. We as an industry have to get together to put a halt to this ‘I’m No 1’ claiming itch,” he emphasises.

    He adds that even as certain players are claiming the numero uno status, they are still selling airtime at very low prices compared to the legacy players. “This phenomenon is dragging the news genre down instead of increasing the yield to delivery ratio. I’d like to see their No 1 claims being reflected in their airtime rates and revenues.”

    Additionally, what’s irking him is the rampant misuse of landing pages on cable TV and DTH platforms by TV news broadcasters, and the measurement and reporting of this “rogue” viewership by Broadcast Audience Research Council (Barc).  

    “There’s a lot of load shedding in places in the Hindi speaking heartlands of India. If a viewer is watching say X channel and the power goes off and when it comes back, he or she is forced to watch the landing page channel before switching to his or her favorite news channel. Now if this process takes 10 or 35 seconds, his viewing is measured and reported because of Barc’s basic rules that anyone watching for within a minute is considered a viewer, is what I understand,” explains Chakraborthy. “The agency needs to increase the viewing time to two to three minutes for a person to be considered a viewer. Otherwise all the landing page viewing adds up to significant numbers and skews the ratings.”

    Another disturbing trend that has developed amongst news channels is the fact that some of them are running break-free content and news to gain viewership, he says. “The irony is that the advertiser is buying spots on the channel based on the ratings derived from break-free content,” he elucidates.

    He believes that Zee News has a great portfolio of offerings in terms of languages and regional channels serving as a great outreach platform for brands.

    “Zee is a very strong brand name,” he highlights. “Almost every famous face who is on other news channels has worked for some time at Zee. We lead in certain markets. We have great teams in place. What I have created is the Zee News Plus offering wherein the sales people are selling us as a network. They can package national with other regional channels to present a better solution to agencies and brands. Nobody has a network like we do. For me as a revenue leader, I have always taken the targets. However, success is my team’s and failure is mine.”

    With that kind of an attitude, Joy is sure to bring a lot of glee to the Zee News bottom line.

    Mumbai: On building a profitable business, Hathway Cable and Datacom managing director Rajan Gupta stated that he believes FY 2022–23 will be a transformational year for the company.

    The provider of Cable and Internet services in its annual report mentioned the annual gross revenue up by 4 per cent to Rs 1,793 crore in FY 2022 as compared to FY 2021. After this, Gupta seems confident in increasing the company’s market share.

    Gupta said that with the worst of the pandemic effect seemingly behind us, and sports & other live entertainment events fully back in action, the environment looks favourable for the revival of the cable TV business currently.

    The company is confident that the efforts being made to prepare the platform for making deeper inroads into the market will significantly yield benefits in the increasing market share in the cable TV segment, going forward. It is focussed, committed and motivated to play a pivotal role in helping India’s media and entertainment industry bounce back, stronger than ever.

    Simultaneously, he also mentioned that the company acknowledged the current business environment has changed dramatically in the post-Covid world. In this difficult year, the company invested in building organisational competencies to align them with the evolving market and consumer demands & aspirations. “We have focussed on developing our capabilities in crisis management, enterprise agility, cost management, workforce resilience and innovation, which we believe to be the pillars of our growth-centric business model. Initiatives are also underway to leverage digital platforms to enhance the competencies of our partners in the cable TV business, as more than 90 per cent of our consumers in this segment are being serviced through our local cable operators,” Gupta added.

    He further noted that with the pandemic catalysing a new surge in demand, the FTTH (fiber to the home) segment of the business saw a healthy 20 per cent growth in revenue earning customers in these challenging times. “However, our cable TV business health was challenged due to a multitude of extraneous consumer and environmental factors. Limited original content, financial stress experienced by consumers in the Covid world, and multiple lockdowns led to many of them moving from metros to their home towns in this period. This, in turn, caused the bottom of the pyramid consumers to shift to value offerings, thereby limiting our ability to monetise this business,” Gupta said.

    Armed with in-depth industry knowledge and consumer understanding, Hathway responded to the situations with a powerful thrust on cable TV network expansion and transformation. Coupled with digital innovation, customer delight and workforce agility, the company is able to navigate successfully these unprecedented times.

    In line with this strategy, the company rolled out more than 140 new towns and added more than 3,000 kms of fibre network during the year under the community antenna television (CATV) business. With innovative next-generation high-definition (HD), high-efficiency video coding (HEVC) and over the top media service (OTT) set-top boxes delighting customers, Hathway scaled its consumer proposition for millions of new TV consumers. “These boxes host many new exciting industry-first features, such as time-shift – enabling users to watch a programme on one channel while recording a programme on another, radio channels, among others. We have also initiated a cable TV network transformation project, aimed at ensuring that our network is benchmarked to telco standards in terms of uptime, redundancies, resiliency and proactive monitoring,” he said.

    In the annual report, the company said that at the heart of its strategic thrust on continuous innovation lies a strong ambition to empower customers. “We invest in modern technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) applications and tools, to stay connected with our customers at all times. This helps us foster meaningful interactions with our customers,” he quoted.

    Taking its local cable operators (LCO) partnerships to the next level, the company also noted that amid the challenges of the year, Hathway’s marketing team pushed its efforts to improve communication with its LCO partners and assist them in growing the business. As part of these efforts, it identified the pain points of its LCOs, devised exciting ideas to pique their interest, and launched initiatives to raise awareness of its products and services.

According to the report, this triggered a new level of LCO activation and re-energisation of the stalled engagement.

    On the content front, the company plans to launch Kflicks, a dedicated channel for Korean content with dubbing in Kannada and Telugu languages for Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana markets. There will be English subtitles for the rest of the markets.

    The move is aimed at catering to the high demand from the new generation and the millennials. It also plans to launch an app, LCO LightHouse, to raise awareness about the LCO portal’s underutilised features, provide the necessary information, promote new or existing schemes & increase engagement.

    Mumbai: NxtDigital has upskilled 30-35 per cent of its workforce in digital technology, in addition to making a complete shift to the pre-paid model through enabling digital payment mechanisms, said MD and CEO Vynsley Fernandes as he talked about the company’s transformation from a cable company into a digital platforms company.

    Fernandes was in a fireside chat with Indiantelevision.com group founder CEO and editor-in-chief Anil Wanvari at the 18th edition of Video & Broadband Summit (VBS 2022) organised by Indiantelevision.com on Wednesday.

    Pandemic as the trigger point

    The digital metamorphosis of NxtDigital, as well as the ecosystem as a whole, started a couple of years back in 2019 when the new tariff regime (NTO) was introduced, but it was the pandemic that actually gave impetus to it. “One of the biggest learnings from the pandemic was that digital aspirations are not limited to the city dweller. The tier 2, 3, and 4 towns, even though poorly connected to both TV and broadband, are equally aspirational. At least 60 per cent of our base comes from the semi-urban, semi-rural and rural markets, and yet there’s still significant growth that has to be achieved,” said Fernandes.

    Realising the importance of supporting these markets, the company set up digital Nxthubs at locations across India to deliver digital TV with up to 650 channels, broadband, and OTT.

    The pandemic also forced the traditional distribution platforms that were facing challenges due to changing consumer preferences, to look at new strategies for growth, and new technology for fresh, and innovative products. This, combined with the realisation that customers increasingly want a single window to manage their multiple products and solutions, led NxtDigital to launch three new offerings including an advanced android set-top box, TV stick, and a combo product providing access to around 700 TV channels, OTT content (including regional) and broadband with speeds up to 1000 Mbps. The company had also introduced a work-from-home bundle during the pandemic.

    “We have been extremely cognisant of the fact that times are changing, and we need to be at the forefront to be able to harness technology to deliver the best experience to customers,” said Fernandes.

    Transformation is never an easy process. Like any other change that is met with resistance in the beginning, it took some effort for NxtDigital to convince and train its digital service partners, also the Last Mile Owners (LMOs), to support the implementation of the fully digital payments enabled, pre-paid model.

    And the results have been quite positive. “While individual verticals may have seen some softening, the absolute growth in terms of revenue for the LMOs saw an uptick because of the increased ticket size allowed by the combo product (Broadband + OTT+ Digital TV). Our partners are now, in fact, excited to know about the next digital service they can offer customers,” shared Fernandes.

    As far as broadcaster partners are concerned, he added that even though they have largely been supportive, there’s the need at the top of the pyramid for more patience and the understanding that the industry is still in a state of flux. It will take some time for the metrics to be worked out, and for the results to start manifesting as significant gains. 

    “Though we can’t yet call it significant, there has been steady growth in the business quarter-on-quarter, and this not necessarily from just the video business, but also broadband and OTT. The overall pie has definitely grown, and the stakes are only getting better from here as long as collaborations and innovation come into play,” asserted Fernandes.

    Appreciating the government’s new guidelines for infrastructure sharing, he remarked, “A DPO can no longer say that it cannot service a client/region because of the high cost of connectivity. As we see a lot more infra sharing happening, broadcasters will also be a beneficiary to that growth.”

    Word of Caution

    As a word of caution, Fernandes pointed out four themes that players need to align themselves with to thrive in the digital future.

    Commenting on the fate of cable and broadband he noted, “Cable will continue to grow, more so with I&B Ministry’s infrastructure sharing guidelines for MSOs announced last December.  However, there will be significant growth in broadband. This has also been indicated by Trai’s recommendation on AGR (adjusted gross revenue) that will encourage cable operators to provide broadband services. The one thing that’s clear is that the government is looking at facilitating the growth of the industry.”

    Fernandes’ third observation was that broadband over satellite and regionalised OTT will start to make inroads over the next couple of years. Lastly, the characteristics of the business will impact single product companies. In the ‘and’ world that awaits, cable or broadband or OTT alone will find it difficult to survive. The future will belong to those who are able to leverage technology to combine them externally and internally into a robust product.

    Fernandes believes that NxtDigital’s product portfolio comprising broadband, HITS, digital cable television, content syndication, and teleshopping will stand the company in good stead. He surmised by saying that “It is necessary to have a product portfolio that can stand the next decade of digital growth.”

    GTPL Hathway reports consolidated revenues of Rs 6130 million for Q3 FY22

    Mumbai: GTPL Hathway has announced the financial results for the third quarter and nine months ended on 31 December 2021, as approved by its board of directors.

    The company’s consolidated Q3 FY22 revenue (incl EPC) stood at Rs 6130 million. Its consolidated 9M FY22 revenue (incl EPC) stood at Rs 18,288 million up by five per cent year-on-year.

    The ISP revenue of the company stood at Rs 1054 million up by 35 per cent year-on-year and 9M FY22 IPS revenue stood at Rs 2978 up by 51 per cent year-on-year. The CATV subscription revenues for the company stood at Rs 2702 million.

    The company’s EBIDTA (incl. EPC) stood at Rs 1473 million and ex-EPC stood at Rs 1472 million. Its profit after tax (PAT) stood at Rs 546 million up by 21 per cent year-on-year.

    The company’s 9M FY22 EBIDTA (incl. EPC) stood at Rs 4301 million up by 3 per cent year-on-year and 9M FY22 EBIDTA (ex-EPC) stood at Rs 4277 million up by six per cent year-on-year. Its 9M FY22 PAT stood at Rs 1454 million up by 11 per cent year-on-year.

    At the end of nine months, the company added 5,30,000 home-pass customers and 1,30,000 net broadband subscribers.

    The company reported 7.5 million paying subscribers at the end of 31 December 2022 out of which 4.40 million were home-pass customers, 7,65,000 were total broadband subscribers out of which 2,90,000 are FTTX subscribers. The company’s broadband average revenue per user (ARPU) stood at Rs 445 at the end of December.

    “The highlight of 9M FY22 performance was CATV business expansion in new states coupled with robust subscriber additions and subscription revenues for broadband business,” said GTPL Hathway managing director Anirudhsingh Jadeja. “On the broadband side, the company is expanding in Gujarat and is penetrating in other states through business partners. GTPL Hathway added 1,30,000 net broadband subscribers in 9M FY22. The company adheres to follow its strategic roadmap by offering a value proposition to its esteemed consumers and constantly enrich their experience.”

    Right time for the LCO ecosystem to reinvent itself: Jio Platforms’ Saurabh Sancheti

    Mumbai: Saurabh Sancheti, the young and dynamic CFO of Jio Platfroms, and one of Fortune India’s 40 under 40 has been instrumental in scripting the success story of Reliance’s Cable business post its acquisition of two largest cable TV and broadband companies in the country – Hathway Cable & Datacom and DEN Networks for a sum of Rs 5,230 crore in October of 2018.

    At the recently concluded Apos India Summit, Sancheti discussed the transformative journey of the two acquired assets, and the challenges and opportunities for Pay TV distribution industry in the light of regulatory and technological changes.

    At the time of acquisition, and much after that as well, Reliance’s Cable business was running at an operating loss. Tasked with bringing about a disruption, Sancheti went on a brainstorming spree to figure out its strengths and problems areas. After several talks with top executives, Local Cable Operators (LCOs) as well as customers, he concluded that the one thing Cable needed was operating cash flows to be positive.

    “That is fundamental, because if you scale up a business which is losing on a unit basis, then you are only scaling up the losses,” he said. “The singular problem that I could pinpoint here was that we were not collecting whatever we billed. And if we could do that, we were home. No one disputes the bill per se; it was all about collection. That’s where I suggested moving Cable to prepaid – a rather ‘blasphemous’ idea for that time.”

    The impact was such that operating cash flows swung from a negative territory to a positive Rs 800 crore per year. Within six months most of the competition also turned to the prepaid model, bringing about a systemic change in the ecosystem.

    Since then industry players have collaborated on various initiatives and models. “The sector which was plagued with a lot of trust issues and fights has, today, come together under the umbrella of the All India Digital Cable Federation (AIDCF) which has become a de-facto platform for constructive discussions.  The AIDCF is also playing a proactive role in conveying our concerns to the government and regulatory bodies,” shared Sancheti.

    Elaborating on the regulatory challenges and their impact on the business currently as well as in the coming years, he remarked, “While a lot of changes in regulations have taken place in the past few years, the crux of it all is that the Trai is advancing in a direction which is more pro-consumer; whether it’s more consumer choice, more a-la-carte, or lesser bundling, the underlying intent is the same. This brings a lot of complexity for the business.”

    Giving a perspective in numbers, he added, “Any large e-commerce company which is handling Stock keeping units (SKUs) from multiple businesses and industries tops out a 100-150,000 SKUs. Today we are serving more than one million unique combination or SKUs to our customers at Den, Hathway, and GTPL. This is coming from an industry which until two years back (before the acquisition) was serving less than 100 SKUs. So, there has been a sea change in offerings as well as technology.”

    But even as the regulator works towards bringing the customer back in focus, there are apprehensions about the mindset and workings of the industry leadership which doesn’t seem to have been very customer-centric historically. Sancheti contended that the situation is changing, and today, not just the top leadership and MSOs, but many LCOs too have a customer friendly and progressive outlook.

    The advent of OTT and the allegedly predatory expansion of DD Free dish universe have posed major challenges to Pay TV distribution in the past couple of years. Current realities notwithstanding, Sancheti believes that there exists a huge opportunity.

    “Out of the country’s 280 million households, nearly 200 million own TV.  Of the 200 million, only about 120 million have Pay TV. So, clearly no other market has such potential as India. The problem is that this base has largely remained stagnant over the years primarily because of two factors. At the higher tier it is the advent of OTT, and at the lower, it’s DD Free Dish which has grown rapidly in last four-five years,” he added.

    There’s also a third challenge that he recognises as needing quick intervention – the dismally low earnings of Cable operators. “In the prevailing circumstances where not just competition from new technology, but even regulatory hurdles like NCF cap are working against them, an LCO takes home on an average Rs. 15000, which is just slightly above the minimum wages. Again, this is just a fraction of what they used to earn previously.”

    The good thing is that all players in the industry are now aware of these challenges, and what needs to be done. The question is ‘how’.

    Sharing his approach and vision for tackling these issues, Sancheti stated, “As an MSO we are trying to work on a low-cost rural market product and the idea is that ‘can we have a price point which can truly challenge Free Dish’. The North Star here is ‘rupee-a-day’ product. If we can have it, we can get at least 40-50 million homes into the Pay TV base.”

    One of the ways of getting to it is reinventing the entire LCO ecosystem as a ‘reseller of services’, he observed. “Our biggest strength as MSOs and LCOs is the ‘last-mile access’. As distributors we ‘own that home’ and the trust and relationship shared with it, has in many cases, been built over decades. If we can leverage it to become resellers of services like OTT and broadband, the market potential of 40-50 million can be unlocked.”

    In addition to solving the problem of LCO incomes, this ‘integrated platform play’ will help the industry to achieve the bigger objective of collectively arriving at the hypothesised challenger product to take on Free Dish.

    “Live TV on a standalone basis is not practicable anymore. So, we clearly need to act as distributors of more services. This will divide costs between businesses, thus making a lot of under-connected and unconnected homes more viable. Ultimately, all of this will tie back to our ‘rupee-a-day’ product,” elaborated Sancheti.

    Signing off on a very positive note he said, “We are standing at an inflection point where the entire LCO model is at the right stage to be reinvented. There’s no market more attractive than India. I strongly believe that it has a long-term potential of at least 170-180 million Pay TV base; it’s doable. An 80 million broadband base is also doable, all within three years.”
