    ZEEL gets MIB’s nod to transfer digital publishing business to Rapidcube

    New Delhi: Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) has received the approval from the ministry of information and broadcasting for the transfer of the digital publishing business division to Rapidcube Technologies.

    The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade has also granted its approval for the same.

    The company’s board had already given the go-ahead for the transfer of the Digital Publishing Business Division of the Company to Rapidcube through a Business Transfer Agreement last year on 17 December. Established this year, Rapidcube is a private company limited by shares and is the wholly owned subsidiary of Zee Media Corporation Limited.

    “The company has received the approval from the ministry of information and broadcasting and department for promotion of industry and internal trade, as required under the press note four of 2019 dated 18 September, 2019 and the provisions of Foreign Exchange Management Act, 2000,” it said in a BSE filing.

    Fullerton India appoints Meehiir Desai as head of marketing

    Mumbai: Fullerton India, an investment and credit company (NBFC-ICC), on Friday announced the appointment of Meehiir Desai as its head of marketing. Desai will lead the marketing and corporate communications functions of the organization and will be reporting to Fullerton India’s chief business officer Ajay Pareek, the company said.

    Desai has over 16 years of extensive experience in brand management, media outreach (digital and offline), and corporate communications. He served in companies across different domains such Fino Payments Bank, Sony Pictures Networks, Times Global Broadcasting Company, Network 18, and HDFC Bank. He resumes his corporate journey after a brief entrepreneurial stint.

    Fullerton India’s CEO & MD Shantanu Mitra said, “On behalf of the Fullerton India family, we are proud to welcome Meehiir to the team.   • Nippon TV elevates Yoshikuni Sugiyama as new president

    New Delhi: Nippon TV, Japan’s leading multiplatform entertainment powerhouse has elevated its representative director and operating officer Yoshikuni Sugiyama to the role of president and senior executive operating officer.

    He replaces Yoshinobu Kosugi who will be taking the new position of vice chairman and senior executive operating officer of Nippon TV. “President Sugiyama will report to vice chairman and senior executive operating officer Yoshinobu Kosugi and chairman and CEO Yoshio Okubo,” it said in a statement.

    Having had significant growth in its international business, Keiichi Sawa, currently operating officer responsible for Nippon TV’s Global Business Development, which includes International Business Development (IBD), has been promoted to Board Director and operating officer for that division. 

    Board Director Sawa will be responsible for Business Development and Real Estate. He will report to President Sugiyama.

    Nippon TV’s recent scripted format Mother was recently ranked #1 in the Top 10 Traveling Asian Scripted Formats, and Nippon TV also ranked for the first time in the Top Exporter of Asian Unscripted Formats 2020-2021, achieving the third position. The global sales of Mute it!, Sokkuri Sweets, BLOCK OUT, Pharaoh!, Old Enough! and other unscripted formats led to this position, as per the data provided by K7 Media in May 2021.

  • India Inc and Republic TV join hands to present IGF-London ’21

    Mumbai: India Inc and Republic Media Network have come together to broadcast the coveted India Global Forum’s (IGF) flagship event from 29 June to 1 July. IGF, organised from London as a hybrid event, will bring together the premier political and business leaders to set the vision and ambition for the post-pandemic world.   • Star Sports’ customer strategy and marketing lead Nupur Gadkari moves on

    Mumbai: Nupur Gadkari, the head – customer strategy and marketing at Star Sports, on Monday announced her departure from the organisation. She had been associated with the company since December 2018.

    As the lead, Nupur was at the forefront of the customer marketing and strategy across all sports (Cricket, Kabbadi, Tennis, Football, Badminton, Premier League, Formula One, Khelo India, etc), including various marketing initiatives for customers – agencies, brands, and advertisers for the channel.

    “Farewells are never easy. While a part of you bids goodbye, the other part often re-lives innumerable moments spent together as a team, delivering exceptional work,” she said in a LinkedIn post announcing her exit, “My super amazing, awesome team at #starsports gave me an unforgettable farewell.   • Symphony Ltd. announces Amit Kumar as new ED and Group CEO

    New Delhi: Symphony Limited on Tuesday announced the appointment of Amit Kumar as executive director (ED) and Group chief executive officer (CEO) of the Company, effective 2 August.

    With over 18 years of work experience, Kumar was previously associated with GE, PwC, Shapoorji Pallonji, EY, and KPMG. He also co‐founded an analytics-focused start‐up and ran it for three years. He currently works with KPMG as a Partner with a focus on the Consumer Products sector and specialises in Business Transformation and Profitability Improvement.
