    MUMBAI: Budweiser’s new summer campaign – ‘Brewed The Hard Way’ (BTHW) attempts to reach out to young adults who live life on their own terms, pursue their passion with conviction and walk through the world with a confidence that only comes from knowing who you truly are. The campaign that began with the launch of Budweiser’s global videos aims to bring to life key brand values like freedom, ambition and authenticity.

    Brewed since 1876, Budweiser aims to connect its brewing story with those of passionate people around the world who share the same appreciation for their craft. The campaign pays tribute to success stories of personalities like ace fashion designer, Masaba Gupta, Indian football star, Robin Singh and India’s leading EDM artist Sahej Bakshi a.k.a Dualist Inquiry.

    Budweiser’s commitment to celebrate artists who are “BTHW” is further demonstrated through one of the world’s biggest electronic music festivals Tomorrowland Unite, scheduled to take place in Hyderabad on 23 July. With an interesting line up of Indian DJ’s and live streaming from Belgium, this event will bring in the best of both worlds. Budweiser is also awarding some consumers who are truly “BTHW” with a chance to witness this event live in Belgium where the world’s best DJ’s perform.

    Saluting upcoming talent who are “BTHW” and giving them a platform to showcase their talent to a larger audience, Budweiser offers an invaluable opportunity via its office outreach program called ‘Budweiser Unknown’. This program would be executed across multiple offices in Delhi+ NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. The “BTHW” campaign will further see extensive on-ground promotion in key outlets and heavy promotion on digital platforms.

    Further, the brand had also recently brought, the world renowned property – Don’t Let Daddy Know (DLDK) to India for the very first time, enthralling over 5000 music lovers in Mumbai on May 27th.

    MUMBAI: Contrary to reports that appeared in the media yesterday, Madison Media continues to handle the digital mandate for Airtel brand and media. The agency however does not handle “search marketing” for airtel.in.

     

    Madison Media Group CEO Gautam Kiyawat in a statement says: “Digital is a very important element within Madison Media and our attempt has been to offer clients a holistic media strategy encompassing all media to achieve their brand’s business objectives”.

     

    Madison Media today works with many marquee clients in the digital space including Airtel, Mondelez/Cadbury, Marico, Levis, Budweiser, Asian Paints, BJP, Raymond, Yatra.com, Fiama diWills, and many other clients. The agency has a strong 60 member digital team most of them embedded in large teams that handle the media accounts of large marquee clients.

     

    Madison Media has won several awards in the digital and mobile domain with the latest one being The Festival of Media Global Award and Asia Pacific Award for Parachute Advansed Ayurvedic Hair Oil for convincing consumers to become the brand’s sales force leveraging the power of Mobile.     MUMBAI: Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) has roped in Hanley King as chairman, SMG India. King will report to global operations president John Sheehy and will be based in SMG’s Mumbai office.  As chairman, SMG India, King will be focused on key client relationships, new business and commercial operations for the agency. SMG India CEO Malli CR and SMG Convonix CEO Vishal Sampat will dually report to King and will continue to lead daily operations for their respective organisations. 

     

    “Hanley is a consummate professional with a proven track record of delivering results across our globally networked clients,” said Sheehy. “Our recent acquisition of Convonix and our robust digital and analytics practice prove that our operations in India are among our most future-focused.  I look to Hanley to work hand in hand with Malli and Vishal to continue to build upon our momentum in India.”

     

    King was most recently SMG Global Client Lead for APAC, based in Singapore. In this role he managed multifaceted SMG client teams for Samsung, Mars Wrigley, Kellogg’s, Novartis and Bank of America and others across the APAC region. Prior to joining SMG, King was CEE President for Universal McCann, where he was responsible for 22 markets across the Central European region with 500 plus staff and billings of close to $1 billion. Prior to this role, he was UM CEO, Czech Republic, and previous to this he spent seven years working for media independents and full service communications agencies in his native New Zealand. In his career Hanley has worked on many global accounts in Asia, Europe or New Zealand spanning FMCG, Auto, Financial, Breweries and Telcos.

    Fifa signs deal for official World Cup melody

    MUMBAI: Music publisher and online publishing administrator Kobalt Music Group has been signed up by footballs’ governing body Fifa to be the exclusive worldwide licensor and administrator for the Official Melody of the 2006 Fifa World Cup.

    Written by Nadir Khayat aka Red One and Bilal Hajji, the 30-second melody, a sample from the Red One song Bamboo will also be incorporated into several other songs.

    These include the official single of the event and other pieces of music to be used extensively throughout the championships, including the song Hips Don’t Lie – Bamboo which has been performed by Shakira.

    In addition, dance, hip-hop, house and Bamboo mixes will also be sold as ringtones. Kobalt founder and CEO Willard Ahdritz says, “Kobalt is exploiting the content on a global basis through digital distribution partners on five continents. With an audience of more than a billion people and extensive promotion, the potential exposure and consumer base for the Official Melody is extraordinary.

    “We are thrilled to be the administrator for Fifa to market, license and collect for both the publishing and master rights in what could be the biggest digital event ever.”

    The World Cup takes place from 9 June-9 July in Germany. The Official Melody of the event will receive extensive exposure during all World Cup events, including cross-promotion and in sponsor ad spots from such advertisers as Adidas, Avaya, Budweiser, Coke, Continental, Deutsche Telekom, Emirates, Fujifilm, Gillette, Hyundai, Mastercard, McDonald’s, Phillips, Toshiba and Yahoo.

    Through the deal, Kobalt is working with Fifa’s concept developer, Engine AB an MTG company, which is Fifa’s exclusive agent for the creation and supervision of the overall music program for the 2006 Fifa World Cup.
