    iTV Network organised veeron ko jai hind- Ab Ki Baar Aatank Ka Sanhaar conclave to honor braveheart soldiers

    MUMBAI: As the entire nation stands today against terrorism, iTV Network, India’s leading media house (India News & NewsX) today organized ‘Veeron Ko Jai Hind- Abki Baar Aatank Ka Sanhaar’, a felicitation ceremony to honor the braveheart soldiers of CRPF, BSF, ITBP and Delhi Police who displayed valor in the battlefield. Held at Hotel Shangri-La in New Delhi, the event shown a light on the bravery of the armed forces who fought against terrorism and some even lost their lives during encounter with terrorists. With recent incidents like Pulwama terror attack on CRPF convoy in which more than 40 bravehearts lost their lives. A few days later, our armed forces retaliated by surgical strikes and destroyed terror camps in POK which again proven the mettle of our armed forces.                        

    The event was graced by political dignitaries like Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqwi, Union Minister of Minority Affairs; Shri Subramanian Swamy, Member of Parliament, BJP; Shri Randeep Surjewala,

    Senior Congress Leader; Shri Manoj Sinha, MoS (Independent Charge) of Communications & MoS, Ministry of Railways along with them there were retired veterans from the armed forces, army men and families of martyrs.   

    The special guest at the event were star cast of the upcoming film RAW-Romeo Akbar Walter-Actors- John Abraham and Sikandar Kher. They were accompanied by RAW director Robbie Grewal and music sensation Hans Raj Hans. The team encouraged men in uniform and felicitated the bravehearts and martyrs families. At the event, John Abraham said, “I have huge respect for our Indian armed forces and in my opinion, every student should serve in the defense forces for atleast 2 years after completing higher studies. I also would like to urge the voters to elect the candidates on basis of development, not religion.” Sharing his experience of shooting in Kashmir for RAW, John said, “It was a great experience to shoot in J&K, people of the valley are really nice and Indian army was very supportive to the whole team of RAW.” 

    While attending the event, Mr Kartikeya Sharma, Founder & Promoter, iTV Network said, “The security and the well-being of the nation largely depends on the courage of the bravehearts who are protecting the nation to ensure our safety and we should never forget their sacrifices. These awards is to express our gratitude towards them who have shown exemplary valor and devotion while performing their duties.”  

    In an interesting session, ‘Salute to Service’ with Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqwi, Union Minister of Minority Affairs, the minister shared his views on how the BJP government took strong steps against terrorism he said “Modi government gave a free hand to defense forces to retaliate and eliminate the enemy.” 

    On the National security amid poll season, Shri Subramanian Swamy, Member of Parliament, BJP and Shri Randeep Surjewala, Senior Leader, INC churn over politics on defense forces.   

    Shri Randeep Surjewala questioned Subramanian Swamy and said “How did the explosive used in the Pulwama attack?”, however Shri Subramanian Swamy retaliated by saying that “The ruling party did nothing after 26/11 attack and our current government has given freehand to defense forces to act against terrorism.” 

    Shri Manoj Sinha, MoS (Independent Charge) of Communications & MoS, Ministry of Railways also shared his views on Sena, Shaurya and Samman. Shri Manoj Sinha said, “Politics should not be done over defense force and their operations.” Further he also added that “Our government has already Rs 35000 crore has been sanctioned by the government on One Rank One Pension.”

    While in an exclusive session with Shri Birender Singh, Union Minister of Steel, the minister shared his views on various national issues. He said, “Politics should not be done over defense forces and their operations.”      

    Another session was with Commandant Chetan Cheetah, 5th Battalion CRPF who is also known as ‘India Ka Cheetah’, where he spoke about his extra ordinary tales of bravery, during his session he said “For a soldier family support is the biggest power, for him his wife and kids are biggest strength and I am still willing to go back to border to fight against terror forces.” He miraculously survived nine bullet injuries he received during an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir.”  There was another session with the war veterans from armed forces who have shared their views on how the armed forces are equipped with latest technology to tackle any tough situation.

    Comedy Central and BSF join forces to ‘Spread The Cheer’ among the Jawans in Jammu

    MUMBAI: Comedy Central – India’s leading 24-hour English Entertainment channel is committed towards making India smile and spreading cheer in citizens’ lives. The channel’s innovative efforts transcend beyond television programming and translate into meaningful actions through its ‘Spread The Cheer’ campaign. Taking forward the promise of inducing happiness one laugh at a time, Comedy Central reached the BSF Training Camp – Paloura in Jammu, mobilizing its esteemed CSR initiative.

    Facing enemy lines in extreme weather conditions, at all hours of the day and night without apprehension or hesitation, the BSF Jawans signify real-life superheroes. Honoring the valor of these Jawans, Comedy Central resolved to step into the new year with hope and cheerfulness, by spreading happiness amongst these heroes at their basecamp in Jammu.

    Commenting on the channel’s unique campaign, Ferzad Palia, Head – Youth, Music and English Entertainment, Viacom18, said, “’Spread The Cheer’ is an extremely special initiative of Comedy Central with an unwavering mission to touch people’s lives and extend the channel’s ethos of being #YourHappyPlace in true sense of the term. This year we scaled up our endeavor by taking the much-loved actor-entertainer Maniesh Paul to the BSF training camp in Jammu to foster an unforgettable evening and attempt to requite the service of our real heroes, who tirelessly protect our borders from every kind of threat.”

    Bearing a motto of ‘Duty nto Death’, BSF is rightly-considered as our first line of defense, that stands guard bravely protecting Indian border extending over thousands of kilometers surrounding our country. Taking time off from their arduous duty, over 200 BSF Jawans and dignitaries at the camp were entertained by actor-cum-host Maniesh Paul on Saturday. Best known for his wit, comic-timing and mimicry prowess, the supremely talented Maniesh charmed his audience with rib-tickling laughter, foot-tapping dance moves, finger-licking food and many memorable moments.

    Welcomed with overwhelming adulation, Maniesh was given a special tour of the camp, starting with a visit to the Martyrs’ Memorial paying tribute to the BSF Jawans who heroically lost their lives in the line of duty, followed by a glimpse of the intensive training demonstration of the BSF Commandos and finally playing kabaddi with the Jawans.

    At the end of the programme, on behalf of the BSF Frontier – Paloura Camp, Sh N S Jamwal, IG BSF, Jammu Frontier thanked Maniesh Paul for a splendid evening with the BSF jawans and presented him with the Frontier Jammu Memento on behalf of all BSF Border-men.

    Commenting on his experience, Maniesh Paul added, “Collaborating with Comedy Central for ‘Spread The Cheer’ and visiting the BSF camp has been an extremely gratifying experience. We play heroes on screen but these fearless BSF Jawans are undoubtedly the symbol of heroism and I salute them for their steadfast onus to the job. My visit to the hallowed grounds of these brave Jawans and an evening filled with merriment is etched as one of the most memorable and treasured events of my life. I congratulate Comedy Central for a splendid campaign in bringing happiness to such an integral part of our nation and I look forward to visiting the BSF camp again.”

    The fun and frolic concluded with Comedy Central surprising the BSF Jawans by gifting them specially created hampers courtesy – Ustraa, a specialized men’s grooming products brand.

    ‘Spread The Cheer’ has also associated with Ketto – a popular crowdfunding platform for social, creative and personal causes, to help amplify the efforts of Aditya Mehta Foundation. The foundation raises funds for the ‘Divyang Jawans’ initiative, which strives to enable Para athletes with equipment and training to participate in various Para sports events including the upcoming Paralympics 2020.

  • Nickelodeon Toons & kids celebrate Surakshabandhan with BSF

    MUMBAI: India’s elite Border Security Force(BSF) at the International Attari – Wagha Border received a pleasant surprise from kids and their favorite toons Dora and Shiva from India’s leading kid’s entertainment franchise, Nickelodeon. The force that spends the entire year away from their families protecting the nation’s over 7000 kilometers land border had the kids along with the toons pay them a visit to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan in its true essence of “Surakshabandhan”.

    Festivity, Respect and selflessness was at full display as children along with the toons tied the symbolic Rakhi to the soldiers as prelude to iconic retreat ceremony, thus saluting their bravery, selflessness and relentless commitment to the country.

    Children along with the Nicktoons infused energy at the border with their lively presence as they celebrated Rakshabandhan by tying Rakhi’s on the fists of the soldiers. Adding to this, the children also joined Dora and Shiva to participate in the dance ceremony prior to the retreat.

    BSF DIG – Amritsar JS Oberoi said “We are delighted with the thoughtful initiative of Nickelodeon. Our soldiers miss out on spending time with their friends and families on festivals, Rakshabandhan being one. Having children take time out and celebrate the festival of rakshabandhan with us has definitely been a heart-warming experience for all our soldier who have now been gifted some beautiful memories that they will cherish this rakshabandhan.”

    Viacom18 business head – kids entertainment cluster Nina Elavia Jaipuria said “Through this unique and poignant initiative with the Border Security Forces, we have endeavored to introduce children to real life superheroes who guard our borders, while also thanking them for the unwavering commitment and bravery towards the nation.”
